Dr. Bates is great! This is the second time I have needed Dr. Bates to help me with my headaches. The first time was about 8 years ago. In just a couple sessions my headaches went from 4-5 days a week, to maybe 1-2 a month. For many years I broke the habit of popping my neck, and was able to keep those headaches from coming back. However, in the last year or 2 I began popping my neck again. I went back to Dr. Bates this past month and he was able to take care of me again. My headache have significantly subsided. I also was having a little bit of shoulder pain which was also taken care of. My shoulder pain and headaches were hand in hand as they are connected. I also brought in my kids to get an evaluation. If you're looking for a chiropractor, Dr. Bates is THE doctor to go! This family owned and operated business consists of Dr. Bates, his daughter (massage therapist), and wife (reception and booking). All are extremely welcoming and make each visit a breeze. When I first came to the doctor in the beginning of the year, I described everything that I was doing with my previous chiropractor and things that I noticed since starting to work from home. He immediately knew what to fix and gave me recommendations to help improve my health. Every time I come and describe a new pain, Dr. Bates knows right off the bat how to alleviate the pain. The parking lot can be entered through two ways, but I would recommend entering off of Peralta as the other side has a dip that could scratch the bottom of the car. You HAVE to wear disposable booties to cover your shoes, which help keep the office clean as well as the doctor's hands (since he'll have to sometimes move your feet/legs). They do supply them so no worries there! If you have Kaiser and need some relief, look no further! 10/10 would recommend. read more

Dr. Bates has helped me several times my back has gotten tweaked and needed adjusting. Usually, I just need to visit 2 or 3 times each injury, and he's gotten me back to normal. I call him the Back Magician! Dr. Bates doesn't push me to come back in more than I need to. He is a good listener, and he is careful not to hurt me during my adjustments. Once we got 3 months into the Covid-19 situation, with working from home and having to rustle the kids at home my back was kaput. Luckily Dr. Bates is just around the corner form our place. Dr bates is amazing ! I was referred to him by a friend. So glad I found him as I've had major back pains and complications with my back from a young age. But dr bates is by far the best hands down I threw my back out recently but after seeing him for treatments, my back feels back to normal. I still come in every so often to adjust and maintain as all should. Dr. Bates has been great. I started seeing him a couple of weeks ago as I'd been experiencing shoulder pain and range of motion issues from an old injury. In the few sessions I've had and the exercises he'd given me, I've experienced better movement and less pain. While we are still working on getting my shoulder better, the fact that it's just been a couple of weeks and I'm already moving better is testament to what Dr. Bates can do! Dr Bates has been a great help in reducing my lower back pain, and reducing the frequency of my migraines. Working long hours from home over the past year and a half, I had started noticing that I was having more and more frequent migraines, and suspected part of the issue might be related to poor alignment of my neck. Having previously seen Martin to help me reduce my lower back pain, which was a success, I knew he would be able to help, so I started going once a month for an adjustment beginning in May. At the same time, I became focused on staying hydrated and taking a supplement with B12 and magnesium which are both supposed to have some efficacy in reducing migraines. Dr Bates also suggested that I try to use my standing desk it it's upright position as mush as possible, which I have found is definitely better on my lower back... I've been seeing Dr. Bates for 5 months now and wow he is phenomenal! When I first came in, it had already been a year after I herniated my disc. Before seeing him, I could barely walk straight, I definitely couldn't sit in a chair for more than 30 minutes without discomfort, and my left leg was constantly hurting. I decided to see him because it was close to my home and the reviews on yelp were all good! Wow they were right! He is so nice and patient and truly understands how your body works. With just a quick touch, he can determine which muscles are tense and needs to be loosed up. I used to see him every week, which seems excessive, but honestly it's for your health and the more frequent you go the faster you heal. Now that I am about 90% back to normal (no leg or foot pain and can go through a full day of work which includes sitting at a desk for long hours, or lifting/working on heavy machinery) I only visit 2X a month. I'm sure that once I am healed I might only see him once a month for a check up, but he told me that I may not need to come back unless I want to. Tip: Arrive on time so you get seen as quickly as possible! Overall I appreciate everything he has done for me as it is honestly life changing. It sucks not being able to do basic tasks without pain, and his treatment has definitely made me feel normal again. Also, Donna is great!
