Dr. Louie tries really hard, has good exercises, and tries to work holistically. He's also friendly, and I like him personally. But I feel like he is not good at diagnosing issues, which is one of the most important, maybe the most important, differentiating skills between doctors of any kind. He can't tell what problems I have unless I tell him point blank, which is a problem because often the patient doesn't know what the root cause is. And he continues a treatment plan regardless of what problems I'm actually suffering. I have been to many chiropractors, including really good ones and also some bad ones. I haven't gotten better from seeing him 3 times and have actually been in even more pain. That should not happen. 2 stars. I had 3 pains I wanted Hubert to address: left knee, left lower back, right shoulder. Issues I've had for many months to years. Obviously too much for 1 hour session but I wanted to get a sample of what he could do. Any benefit I would consider a miracle given 1 session. 2 days later I can say my knee is 50% better which is mind blowing given these are chronic issues. My back and shoulder maybe 0-10% better but 1/3 is great! He's got a very warm friendly vibe and the whole experience is enjoyable and relaxing albeit you won't get much of the immediate satisfaction from say a deep massage as he does a lot of other techniques that feel unimpressive in the moment. I recently received a 60-minute Thai massage elsewhere and experienced some relief from chronic pain, but I was still experiencing aches, pains, and discomfort from having "tech neck." Hubert was recommended to me and at first, I was not sure if my condition could be improved since the Thai massage occurred less than two weeks before being assessed by Hubert. Hubert took special care in explaining the potential causes of muscle tension, how improper movements can contribute to muscle strain and pinched nerves, and how unbalanced muscle groups can prevent progress towards correct posture. I have worked with the massage therapist, Hubert, in the past, but only recently had a session with him at Myokinetic Repair. The 2-hour session started with a conversation about where and when I've been feeling discomforts, followed by a brief range of motion assessment. Then, we got to work on the table. My main complaint was my lower back, but the assessment showed that I had restrictions in my shoulders as well. The massage started at my shoulders, followed by my lower back and pelvic area. Since we had extra time left, Hubert also worked on my neck, and area where my skin was feeling puffy and inflamed. Hubert's touch felt steady and secure, with varied levels of pressure. For this session, he used a few different techniques, including myofascial release, deep tissue, and tui na. Hubert was very communicative throughout the session and it felt like a joint effort to help me find relief. I feel more mobile after the session, but also have a better idea of what positions to avoid and what exercises to try to strengthen my lower back. The location is inside of a shared corporate office building and is rather small, but the ambient lighting and music helps make things feel comfortable and safe. Hubert Tai is the therapist that works in this space now, and he practices Myofascial release therapy, which targets specific trigger points in the muscles to alleviate tightness and pain. He also works some deep tissue and mixes many of the disciplines together in his practice. As far as my experience goes: I am a regular gigging musician and someone who also works a 9-5 at a desk. I have pretty chronic neck and upper back discomfort and extreme tightness on my right side sometimes leads to pain. I tried some deep tissue, but other than temporary relief, I didn't feel many long term benefits. I also saw a chiropractor regularly which helped, but many would frequently comment on how tight my muscles always were, so one of the therapists recommended Myofascial release. I booked a few sessions with Hubert and don't regret it. I reccomend the 90 minute sessions to really get the body opening up. In our first session, Hubert spent time talking with me about my issues, as well as doing things like gently moving around my limbs to test range of motion. From there, we worked on the main areas of discomfort. Hubert is very communicative, especially when it comes to using the right pressure. We also spent time working additional areas of restrictiveness, like getting into the chest or traps area to open them up, and help areas in the back relax a bit more. After visiting, I noticed a very big difference in my range of motion, especially in my neck turning side to side. Hubert is also very dedicated to the education of his patients, he gave me a myriad of stretches, good practices for posture, and has a lot of good tips. You can tell he really cares, and that he wants to get to the root of the issues. After my first session or two, I felt a noticeable difference of relief, much lighter, looser, and the next time I went to a Chiro a few days later, everything use *went* and it was the best I've felt in a while. I was training for my first full marathon in September. 20 days before my race, my knees suffered from all the training... I was very worried about my condition, and reached out to Dr. Louie, hoping that he could help to speed up my recovery. I am so grateful that I decided to give him a try!! Dr Louie is genuine about helping his patients. He is very patient and takes the time to listen to the problem and then come up with a solution to help. I took my mum who has been suffering with a post surgery scar for the last eight years. She has been to several neuro surgeons, dermatologists, pain specialists and has even had surgery again to re-graft her scar. All have failed. I came across Dr. Louie on Yelp as I was looking for a new chiropractor after mine had moved out of the area. I had been suffering from long term hip/lower back issues and chronic migraines and was looking for someone who practiced using ART. Dr. Louie was quick to contact me back the same day and I made my first appointment for the next day. He let me know there would be paperwork to fill out and since I wouldn't have access to a printer in such a short turn around, he had the papers ready for me at the office and just instructed me to show up a few minutes early to take care of that. The building was not difficult to find, he works in a suite in a big office building. Plenty of parking, definitely a pro. 2nd floor, easy to find. Dr. Danny is seriously one of the best chiropractors ever. I initially came to him for acute lower back pain that developed from working a desk job, boxing and running. For the initial appointment, it will be a little longer because he's extremely detailed about what to expect during this time. He goes through his powerpoint and is upfront about everything. I know that he doesn't take insurance, but trust me that his pricing is reasonable for all the services that you'll receive from him. He's not just another chiropractor where you walk in and get adjusted, then carry on with your day. Dr. Danny cares about your well-being and wants to be fixed-up so you don't have to return regularly. I choose to come back to him for maintenance work for all that he does, and believe it's a worthwhile investment on my body. Dr. Danny diagnoses you by having you perform several movements then and gets to work! In one session you'll have your soft-tissues worked on by the graston technique, perform kinetic release therapy on your various muscles, uses sports therapy tape when/where needed, stretches your tight muscles, adjusts every part of your body, and leaves you with stretches and exercises to perform! He fixed my (shoulder nerve pain) after one session with the Graston technique. After healing about a week from that session. The pain has gone and my shoulder I would say is about 95% cured. I do Crossfit about 6x/week, so it's fair to say my body takes a beating. I neglected my shoulder rehab long enough that I ended up messing up my right shoulder during a particularly challenging workout. Dr. Louie has helped me relieve symptoms of sciatic nerve pain due to tight QL muscles from sitting in traffic and at work over the past several months. He has helped me increased my mobility and range of motion with soft tissue work as well as deep stretching. Furthermore he gives you "homework" and different things to add to your routine each session which allow you to maintain yourself and eventually space out sessions. I found Dr. Louie through Yelp, and I am SO grateful that I did. I've always held tension in my back, neck, and shoulders--I work out (resistant training, HIIT, etc) and work long hours in tech. I suffered from an acute herniate disk in my lower back about a year ago due to over-training. While I've been to PT, a year later every now and then my leg would still feel numb. Because I work a desk job, I always find myself in poor posture/posture. Fast forward after having hundreds of deep tissue massages, I knew I needed to find a more long-term solution. When I came to see Dr. Louie for a consultation and initial session, I really appreciated how thorough and honest he was about his practice. I've been learning a lot about the human body (connective tissues, nerves, and important role of myofascia and scar tissue). I've been coming to see Dr. Louie for about a month now, and I can honestly say that I've finally start to feel physically better! I'll start with saying I waited a little over a week before I wrote this review to see how my body reacted/feels after my treatment with Dr. Louie. And I must say what a difference! I am law enforcement and carry 50-60 lbs of gear weight around my waistband that eventually begins to take a toll on my body; not to mention my bullet proof vest and my heavy wool uniforms. Wearing all of this gear 4 of 7 days a week coupled with sitting in a patrol vehicle for 10hrs a day, I was beginning to notice lower back, shoulder and neck pain. It was even getting to the point that was even having trouble sleeping sometimes at night. A friend told me about Dr. Louie and his awesome experience. I reached out to Dr. Louie for an appointment and everything was easy and professional from the receptionist to billing. Dr. Louie emailed me a form to complete and email back to insure that he understood my concerns and that he had a synopsis and knowledge of my health history so things can be done safely. Before Dr. Louie performed any adjustments, he made sure I understood exactly what adjustments he would be performing and that I understood the importance of each adjustment. Not to mention before the adjustments, Dr. Louie stated the importance of stretching and massaging the muscles before adjustments. After we spent some time on muscle stretches/tension relief Dr. Louie performed each adjustment and I must I say I felt an immediate relief. After we completed all of my adjustments, Dr. Louie showed me several different daily stretches he recommended I use on the daily basis to help with back pack pain and to relieve muscle tension.
