Nothing sucks more than a flat tire when you need to be somewhere. Thankfully Martindale's was just down the road! I met with Chris at the desk to tell him what the issue was and he came out to take a look. I had come in looking to patch the tire but he explained why it wouldn't be possible in this case.(location of the leak and the damage buildup from riding on a flat tire) Unfortunately they didn't have any of my tire in stock, but they offered to order it for me. (I was already on my way to an appointment at a Kia dealership so I declined) They offered to swap out my flat for the donut in my trunk which I had them do. Jim, one of their mechanics, did the switch for me in a super timely manner. Taking off the tire and swapping the donut took minimal time and only cost $10 which was pretty reasonable. I have had three minor issues with my car over the past month. I am a 75 year old widow who is gainfully employed but no nothing about cars. I had the pleasure of meeting Ed who was so helpful. Took my car to the dealer to get an alignment/balance tires and of course they said whoever messed with my tires last (which was Martindales for a rotation a couple weeks ago) screwed up multiple bolts/lug nuts on my wheels and i had to pay to get that fixed. They damaged my vehicle. They then told me not to go through insurance and that they would take care of it. No one has written a check, and they barely pick up the phone to talk to you. The worker told me off on the phone and was cursing at me (As if I was the one to crash the car) They are all cowards at this place. Wouldn't send my worst enemy here. Hell on earth. read more

We finally got down to our reserved week at Sea Isle after other obstacles, when on the whole way down, my breaks ground. Ugh get my car fixed at the beach, I'm gonna get gouged and will it even be finished by the time we're leaving at the end of the week???!!! My husband found Martindale's, I guess through Google search. They were nice, friendly, and did not bs me. I dropped it off at 2? or 3pm, they said they'd give me an estimate ASAP. It was true, they called me back with a fair price for the rotors and brakes. It was finished by 9am the next morning, less than 24 hours, unreal. This happened at the end of July of this year, I was just going through my papers, found the receipt and remembered I really wanted to write my review for them. Good stuff! read more

8 AM appointment. No one showed until almost 10 AM. They claimed Ford did not have the brake pads. Had our RV all day. Blamed Ford for no brake pads available for months. Next day, found another mechanic. The brake pads are delivered the next day!! read more

I noticed a tire problem on my 2 day escape and the locals sent me here. I called around 4pm and the gentleman told me to come down the next morning. The guy at the desk smoking the cigar gave me the feeling that he didn't like me because I wasn't local. Making smart remarks like "don't you know your last name?". I had been traveling with just my 7yr old daughter and sorry but... I don't know much about cars either. He made me move the car down 2 spaces before looking at it. I mean a whole 2 spaces away... Then He asked for my wheel lock tool. I had no idea what that was and he could care less, so now I'm tearing apart my car, minding my little girl, and waiting awhile for him to come back and let me know the next step ( he didn't return so I brought my girl back into the smoke filled office to ask.) Can't you just take a look at my tire and let me know what you think? Does it need to be replaced? Can it make it home on a spare? Is it fixable? After all that they didn't have my tire in stock. Hey sir, just to let you know... There are those of us that escape down there for a couple days who work 7days a week just as hard as you do in our normal lives. Try to be a little friendlier. We were on vacation in Sea Isle City and got a screw on our tire, causing a slow leak. Martindales is about 4 miles from Sea Isle, but definitely worth the trip! The owner was very friendly and had someone come out to fix the tire immediately! The price was also less than I expected and would definitely recommend them. read more

My family were on our way to wildwood and we got a flat tire...so we put the donut on and continued on...knowing we have to get a tire when we were down here because we would not make home on the donut.... I had ordered already four new tires to be put on Monday when we got back...so I figured a used tire for now so when searching on yelp we found this place and they charged us great price and same day service...this could of ruined our mini vacation but it did not thanks for great service!!! read more

While on vacation in Sea Isle City, a screw punctured our tread and gave us a flat tire. We put the spare tire on and took the flat tire to Martindale's Auto. They patched the hole, put the patched tire back on the vehicle and put air in all tires for less than $30. We were in and out in less than 30 minutes on a Friday afternoon. Only negative about this place is that the desk and waiting area smelled like an ash tray, so we waited outside. read more

Down here at the beach house and noticed a screw in the tread of my tires. Called around 7:00am was told they don't open til 8:30 (Google has them listed as 24/7) showed up at 8:00 saw cars in the bay's being worked so I went on in and was advised that they don't open til 8:30. At 8:30 on the button a mechanic stopped working on a car and took care of my tire. I was on the road by 8:15. Exactly what I expected and wasn't ripped off. I'd come back here if I have any issues while in the area. They lost a star bc I felt as though they made me wait around until 8:30 out of spite for showing up early... read more

My headlight was out and I tried to replace the bulb myself but could not do it. I already bought the bulb and other places wouldn't install the bulb unless I bought it from them. Martindale's installed the bulb quickly and only cost $10! Great place. read more

Amazing old time great service! We were in Avalon for a wedding and had a flat. I called Mr Martindale in the morning and he told me to come right over. This place was great. Little mom and pop place... So friendly and helped me right away. I had a nail in my tire. They patched it and I was out of there in 20 minutes. Which was great since I had to drive three hours home that night. The price was fair also. I had gone to Mr. tire in rio grande and had a horrible experience. I definitely recommend Martindales. My husband and I were camping at a nearby campground when the brake line ruptured on our Class C motorhome. Martindale's got the rig fixed the same day, with 10 minutes to spare on closing time. Coast Guard family in search of a local mechanic that we could trust while we live here for a short while. We were very satisfied with the service we received when we needed new tires and alignment. We did not feel anything extra was pushed on us and were given fair prices as well as plenty of price point options to choose from. Honestly my experience here was terrifying, my mini cooper broke down a few miles away and I was told to tow it to this place. I called ahead to make sure they worked on mini coopers and he said yes bring it over. So I had it towed ($85) around noon. I called in the evening and the owner told me he would call me in the morning. Morning and afternoon passed and I didn't receive a phone call so I decide to call when the owner tells me that he doesn't know what is wrong but that i had to get the car out of there, ???? I asked if he had any idea at all what could be wrong and all he said was "Could be the engine, Could be the timing chain, idk come get the car" Now mind you my car won't start so I've to tow it somewhere else. I went that afternoon to pick up the car and told very rude younger guy that I was there to pick up my car, I told him I was having it towed that night or the next day and ask him to leave the car out in the parking lot. he gives me the keys and i asked him if they had done any tests on the car and how they think it is the engine and he said "we didn't do any tests and idk" so he puts the car outside and I leave. 30 minutes later I receive a call from the owner basically yelling at me for not paying the towing fee, now my husband had stopped by the day before and i thought he had paid then and his son did not mention any balances when I picked up the car so I had no idea. I immediately rushed back but when I get there the vehicle is back inside and the shop is closed. I stand outside for 15 minutes trying to call the owner back but nobody is answering the phone. Finally I see a white van pull out of the parking lot.I get out of the car and run to the van and it finally stops I ask the guy what is going on and why they are acting in such matter and all he says is you should've known you had a balance and should've paid for it. I told him I would pay him right away. He charges me the money after repeatedly scolding me for not paying and I had enough so I said to him If your staff would've been trained properly they would've ask me for the balance when I arrived instead of saying nothing and giving me the keys ti which he continues to say "You should've known" I told him he was a bad business owner and he said my opinion did not matter and that I was about to not get my car. I was furious, he continues to open the garage and then tells me I'll have to push the car out of there on my own. I am a 5'2 woman who weights 110 pounds. I pushed the car out of there and had it towed the next day to a shop that was professional and actually told me what was wrong with the car. I have never been so humiliated and treated so badly by a business before. Pierce shop is down the road and they are much more professional than this place that apparently only does oil and tire changes. read more
