Martine's is a fun little cocktail dive bar in Old Metairie. Products: Duh-ranks, yo! They have a pretty good wine and beer selection, but they shine on their signature cocktails, of which there are so many that I could not reasonably list here, some of which rotate out regularly to keep variety up. Everything, and I mean *everything*, is reasonably priced, if not outright cheap. (5 stars) Service: Usually just a single bartender, except during shift changes, but the place is small enough, that is more than enough. All the 'tenders are friendly and efficient. (5 stars) Facilities: Martine's is located in a strip mall along Metairie Road. It's easily accessible from the Bonnebel exit off I-10. Signage is ample, but you have to be familiar with the turns along the street to be prepared to find it. There is some parking out front, and, as one goes to bars mainly at night, there isn't any competition for space then. There is a pool table, video poker, and what looks to be a non-functioning/unplugged pinball machine (never asked about it). The inside is smallish, and can probably hold about 50 people seated, including tables and bar stools. There is also outside seating available. It's clean, but, for whatever reason, the cigarette smoke lingers in the place. The management is aware and tries to work with customers on this angle. The decor is appropriate, with a saloon feel to it. Really nice neighborhood bar. I'd give it 5 stars but it was smoky. Loved the watermelon drink. The service was fantastic. Very friendly workers and customers are down to the earth and friendly as well. There were a few 30 somethings and a few 50 somethings. Mostly young ppl though. Juke box was awesome and since we didn't like the smoke, we sat outside and the outside speakers carried out the tunes to us. They also have pool tables and darts . My boyfriend and I have tried to go to this place no fewer than three times and had to leave each time due to the heavy presence of smoke inside the bar. We are from Houston so we are not familiar with the local ordinances, but clearly it must be legal to smoke in bars in Metairie. Since we never stayed long enough to order a drink, I can only speculate on whether this is a food cocktail bar or not. We'll never find out unless the local laws change, because we won't return until it's non-smoking. read more

Gotta love this place. As JPSO was chasing me (because my boss "needed to meet right away") These keystone cops ‍ pulled me over and I was in such a hurry I locked my keys, phone, wallet in my car. They were upset that they could not "tear my vehicle apart..."lol! Things happen, lightning does strike twice. I locked my key in the car 2x in one night. Like the said when I asked "I just got $1000 in fines, can you give me a ride to ARIS AVE?" His barked his reply "NO! We AINT A F'in taxi service....". Went in the early afternoon for drinks and to play pool. It was exactly what we were looking for. The place was well kept and clean. The staff was friendly and attentive. The prices are excellent (crown on the rocks at 5/5.50) and the pours are generous. The pool table is in great condition, although it is a little bit of a squeeze if people are playing pinball or video poker; but, hey, its not a pool hall. They have a decent selection of music on the juke box and the sound/volume was good. You can have a cigar, sit at table or in one of the comfortable "captain's"-esk chairs at the bar. We enjoyed it and will be back. Great neighborhood bar (eventually populated by regulars and locals). Parking is a little tight but that's beyond their control. A few chairs outside as well which are probably nice in non-summer months. read more

I've been searching for decades for my own Cheers. I've found it here!!! Atmosphere is so welcoming. The crowd is eclectic and fun. I've found each of the three bartenders we've met to be craftsmen of the cocktail and have every skill a fantastic barkeep should strive to have. I was totally welcomed by a friendly bartender and what customers were there were extrememly friendly and made me feel like I was with old friends.
