We went right at opening and were the only ones there. Very nice clean adorable local bar.

Met some of my friends here for a Saturday night get together and this place is so cute!! They don't serve food but their drinks are priced well and they have a good wine list. I got a glass of Chardonnay for $8 and they have heavy pours. The interior is super cute and fresh looking, on the smaller side side wise but a great place to have a drink and catch up with friends. They have an outdoor area with benches and TVs inside by the bar and in the space in between the inside and outside. Bartender was very pleasant- would definitely recommend and come back!

My friend and I were excited to try a new place only to find that the service and the drinks here were pretty awful. My cheeriness was constantly met with a bothered attitude from the bartender. My drinks were watery and half the amount of what you'd expect. The parking is confusing and limited. The inside felt like a library. Despite the number of people occupying the space, it was eerily quiet. There was no music, not even a hum, to set the ambience. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend this spot.

Good pours. Mediocre Service but cute Metry spot with an outdoor space. Good vibes for a Metairie Bar.

Blue Ruin Speakeasy is an appropriately nondescript bar offering an impressive lineup of cocktails. I started with my first-ever chocolate martini, which is very outside of my libation comfort zone. However, the boozy, frosty drink was strong yet decadent. It tasted like a boozy Frosty -- I very easily could have had another (and then some). Next, I decided to mix things up for my second drink with the Gangster's Punch. The bourbon paired well with the St. Germain and BlackBerry with a tasty finish from the mint. Both drinks were fantastic and made me want to explore some of the other drinks on the menu. The service was great and the simple, laid back decor made for an overall very enjoyable experience. Next time I'm in the area I will definitely be back.

I came here because someone mentioned this place offered expresso martinis. I am on a coffee + booze kick lately. Well I hadn't heard of this place or read about an opening. I walked in and Brooke the bartender greeted me. I sat at the bar and she handed me the menu of craft cocktails. There is a happy hour as well M-F 3 or 4-7. I saw the martini expresso and ordered it. It wasn't on the happy hour menu unfortunately but I had to try it. Brooke made it perfectly. It had a few coffee beans in it and was still a little creamy. I tried the chocolate martini next, which honestly I liked better. The rum of the glass had Graham cracker crumbs on it I believe and the inside of the glass all chocolate syrup. Very delicious. The cocktails range from about 11 or 12 bucks. The place is small so not good for groups. But it is a nice place to grab a nice quality cocktail in metairie. The bar has a nice chandelier above it. The bar is a squared center kn the room with liquor bottles, alot of coffee liquor, in the middle. The walls are beautifully decorated. There are 2 poker machines on the right as you enter. There's about 10 bar stools and about 2 or 3 small tables on the left as you walk in. The people that patronized were friendly as well. It is a nonsmoking establishment. I definelty enjoyed myself and love finding good quality places like this in Metry.

This has become our favorite before dinner cocktail spot. Delicious cocktails, comfortable surroundings, and very knowledgeable bartenders. The specialty cocktails change often, and all have been delicious and creative

Good drinks, a bit pricey and crowded which kinda killed the speakeasy vibe.

They have a pretty good wine and beer selection, but they shine on their signature cocktails, of which there are so many that I could not reasonably list here, some of which rotate out regularly to keep variety up. Everything, and I mean *everything*, is reasonably priced, if not outright cheap. (5 stars) Service: Usually just a single bartender, except during shift changes, but the place is small enough, that is more than enough. All the 'tenders are friendly and efficient. (5 stars) Facilities: Martine's is located in a strip mall along Metairie Road. It's easily accessible from the Bonnebel exit off I-10. Signage is ample, but you have to be familiar with the turns along the street to be prepared to find it. There is some parking out front, and, as one goes to bars mainly at night, there isn't any competition for space then. There is a pool table, video poker, and what looks to be a non-functioning/unplugged pinball machine (never asked about it). The inside is smallish, and can probably hold about 50 people seated, including tables and bar stools. There is also outside seating available. It's clean, but, for whatever reason, the cigarette smoke lingers in the place. The management is aware and tries to work with customers on this angle. The decor is appropriate, with a saloon feel to it. (4 stars) Bonus 1: free pizza weeknights Bonus 2: free wings on Wednesday with Trivia Overall: The only things I dislike about this place are that it isn't walking distance from my place and the heavy cigarette smoke that makes my eyes burn. I'm glad I gave it another shot because this place was worth the return trip. The vibe immediately transports you to the Caribbean with colorful decor, island music, and a fun atmosphere. My foodie friend and I started with a couple of cocktails: the Caribbean Rum Punch and the Passion Fruit Piña Colada. Both were strong, refreshing, and definitely not shy on the rum. For appetizers, we ordered the Dominican Ribs, glazed with sweet chili, ginger, and soy. These disappeared fast and easily became one of my favorite bites of the night. I would come back just for the ribs alone! For entrées, we shared: Zydeco Redfish - Cajun grilled redfish topped with fried shrimp, garlic mashed potatoes, Creole reduction, and veggies. The red fish was cooked perfectly and was the standout dish for me. Island Ribeye - A 13oz ribeye marinated in pineapple ginger soy, served with whipped sweet potatoes and pistachios. Great flavor with a nice island twist. And of course, we had to get a side of fried plantains because you can never go wrong with plantains. Great food, strong drinks, and a fun atmosphere. I'll definitely be back to check out their happy hour soon. Tonylameats Approved
