We got here during happy hour but I did not order a drink (they have 7 dollar martinis on Thursdays). We do order the shrimp remoulade which was ok but see this entrees! Absolutely delicious! We got the redfish and club sandwich. Yum yum. The honey mustard is one of the best I've had and was a great dip for the sandwich and fries. We have been regulars here since they opened. Often dining on Wednesday nights. Tonight we saw a new "admin fee" of 2 % added. When we asked what that is, we were told that in lieu of charging credit card holders a 3% fee, (which they claimed they learned was illegal). They are now charging all diners an extra 2% regardless of payment method. (Sounds even more profitable.) This is not on the menu or mentioned, by anyone. We declined to pay and the manager stated they have a sign outside. Upon leaving, we noted a 2" x 3" sign at knee level, in a dark corner stating, "Supplemental charge (no specifics), will be charged. "The manger removed the "admin fee", but it left us with a bad taste. Why not raise the price, or state this on the menu, rather than just hope folks don't notice? read more

And there is a small sign that states as much although the fee is not listed. Anyway the post said the admin fee was 3%. But here is my bill for $90 food and a $3.48 surcharge so by my math that is 3.9%. So it's not worth my time or energy to get into a bitch fest with management, but just to let the unsuspecting populace know is satisfaction enough. I admit it--New Orleanians tend to snub chain restaurants. Why go to a popular national Italian spot when we have Vincent's, Miss Irene's, and so many local gems? That said, The Boulevard on Veterans Blvd consistently delivers on its promise of excellent service, delicious food, and great ambience. Our server, Lena, was friendly, patient, efficient, and fun-loving--everything you want in a great dining experience. My girlfriends ordered a bottle of wine (wines are half off on Wednesdays!), and we started with the smoked salmon appetizer, which was served perfectly. For our entrées, two of us ordered the French Dip--thin-sliced prime rib on ciabatta with au jus. Very good! One girlfriend opted for a fresh, tasty salad, and another went with the crab cakes ... and let me tell you, the crab cakes brought the house down. This was my first time at this location. I was attending my friend's birthday celebration. We accidentally entered the wrong area, because it was being held in the new banquet area. Which was formally the market area for pick up orders. But it was not a problem. My cousin and I were escorted by a very kind host directly to the room through the restaurant. The decor in the banquet room was nice. The room is a good size we had a party of 10. Our waitress Lala was awesome. She was very patient and kind. We all ordered drinks mostly lemon drops and French 65's . They all were delicious. I was not hungry for an entree. So I had the boulevard oysters appetizer. My favorite and it did not disappoint. My friend had the spinach dip, although it did not come with chips it came with bread which I thought was different but the bread was good actually goes well with the oysters. Next time I'll have to add some bread to my appetizer. Everyone enjoyed their meals. We had our own little private party and had a blast. Good to know that the banquet room is a nice area to celebrate with friends or family . I'm sure I'll be back. read more

What a great experience! I was looking for a place in Metairie still serving at 9:30 pm, but also nice atmosphere and quality food. This place was perfect. I had a friendly greeting upon entering. Dined at the bar. Even though the restaurant was closing at 10 pm, the wait staff were friendly and informative about everything on the menu. I went with the seared Ahi tuna salad. Superb! Crisp lettuce, fresh mango and avocado, tangy sweet ginger vinaigrette with a mustard base. The seared tuna had the smell of the wood fire grill with a touch of soy. Paired this with a glass of Malbec. Pretty affordable for such nice food and service. A great place to come to anytime but glad it was a later night option. read more

Similar menu to Houston's restaurant that it replaced. Not quite as well flavored or excellent service as it's competitor but good enough if you don't want to take a drive Uptown. They offer online reservations at your convenience, so it's a plus. The restaurant was dimmed and had quite an old, sour smell the day we went. I'm assuming it's the flooring and/or tables after cleaning up. It was quite offsetting but maybe I have a more sensitive sense of smell compared to my group. Sucked it right up and carried on. Drinks and appetizers came out quickly, and entrees came shortly after. We wish our server paced out our meals so we could've enjoyed our appetizers more but oh well. My guests had the ribeyes, and they said they were cooked to perfection. My favorite were the crab cakes. That's one thing their competitor doesn't offer anymore, and this dish would be the main reason I'd return to this restaurant. Plentiful amount of crabmeat with a nice crust. Delish! Usually I would give a 5 star. I've been here too many times to count and the food and service has always been great, but this time the food upset my stomach so bad. I believe it was sour or perhaps had been left out. I had the pasta which is usually one of my favorite dishes here. My boyfriend and I were trying to recreate our first date, though we weren't able to sit in the same spot since my daughter was with us. He had the fried chicken salad, I had the pasta and my daughter had a burger. When I got the pasta I noticed it was a lot more wet than usual. It also wasn't very hot, it was barely warm. I ate it all because I was hungry but it didn't taste to taste the same to me. No sooner than I was able to get home, my stomach was turning over angrily. I know I'll be back but I think I'll leave the pasta alone for a while. That was not a fun feeling. read more

We went here for a family birthday and stayed far longer than anyone should have to for a meal that never really came together. Despite arriving on time for our reservation, we were told our table for six was being prepared, then watched other parties arrive and get seated while we waited about 10 minutes. When we were finally seated, it was in a standard booth--which was completely fine--but confusing, since there were multiple empty booths around us and the restaurant was not crowded. From there, the pacing never recovered. It took 20 minutes just to order drinks, another hour before we could place our food order, and our server was largely absent throughout the night. We never received a single drink refill. When the food finally arrived, my prime rib was completely raw, not even seared, despite ordering it medium rare. By that point, the waiter had disappeared again, making it difficult to address anything in the moment. We stayed because it was a birthday. I had asked at the very beginning of the evening if a small birthday sign or candle could be added to the brownie dessert. After waiting another 20 minutes for dessert, it arrived with nothing--no sign, no candle, no acknowledgment. After nearly two hours, it felt emblematic of the night. I didn't raise a complaint during the meal because I didn't want to dampen the celebration, but in hindsight, this was a frustrating and disappointing experience from start to finish. The food was merely fine; the service was consistently inattentive and disorganized. If you're planning a special occasion or gathering with family, I'd strongly suggest choosing another restaurant. This was a poor use of both time and money, and there are many better places to celebrate. read more

Boulevard use to be one of my go to spots for their martini Thursdays and their food but I feel like the quality went done. I got a filet mignon made medium and it was not seasoned at all. I added salt and pepper and even then it was not good. I ate half and let them throw the other have away. The broccoli in my meal also was not good, they bought had a weird taste to it. Mind you I never throw steak away. The potato was good though. My favorite thing was the deviled eggs. It was sooo good. As far as my drinks it was good but more on the lemon than cognac, it was so yellow but I've had better here. The service over all was GREAT and very attentive. I would come back but I will just stick to the eggs and drinks next time read more

The service was amazing. My brother has Chrones and cannot eat a lot of things. Our waitress was fabulous, she asked about what he could eat and discussed it with the chef, they came up with a great meal for him that he enjoyed immensely. The rest of us enjoyed every bite of our meals as well but I have never seen a restaurant go this much above and beyond to accommodate a patron. Just had an amazing lunch experience at the Boulevard on Vets. Sat at the bar. My Bartender/Server was Kim. From the moment I sat down until I paid my bill, her service was flawless. She was attentive, knowledgeable and very friendly. The gumbo was excellent and the French Dip was perfect. Take my advice, if you are a Bloody Mary fan, order the Bloody Bull.
