Nice folks. Most food was good (taste), however their specialty, the BBQ / Rotisserie Chicken, although tasty, was very dry and felt old (reheated). That was very sad because the rice & beans is good, as well as Majado de Yautia (malanga mash) and Guineo Escabeche (green boiled bananas in olive oil and onions). The Alcapurria $4 is OK, as well as the Pastel (PuertoRican tamale $7), but both expensive for what it is. The ambiance is fine, we did decided to take it all home. Good garlic bread as well. Yummy food! I would say the best bang for your buck here is the family platters as individual meals will get pricey depending on what you get. We usually go through drive through which tends to take a while even though we generally are the only ones there. On top of that some of our items are generally always at room temperature... some of their items are not my favorite like the side salads but it's main entrees like the chicken and rice/beans are really good! The vibe in the place is okay, not really much in the form of theming but it does remind me of places back in Puerto Rico so I guess there is something there. Staff are friendly enough. I always have seen the parking lot full at all times of the day and night, so I had to try it out. My mom and I stopped in and were having trouble deciding what we wanted, the manager came over and introduced himself and told us about the history of the business and made some recommendations. The portion is good and the taste is very kid friendly as well. My only complaint is it's not evenly salted so some parts of the chicken were very salty while some parts were super yummy. HORRIBLE Experience from drive thru and inside the store. Went to the drive thru at first, 'cause we were tired after spending a good day with family. When we get to the drive thru, we asked for couple min to decide what we were going to order. The lady told us to let her know when we were ready. The lady with rudeness said: "Let me know when you have everything together and order". We already decided what we wanna order, but the lady right after "Go to the window" even though we knew what we wanted to eat. The lady with the same attitude said again to go to the window. When we got to the window, we waited couple minutes 'cause we were specting someone to be at it. NO ONE CAME TO THE WINDOW!! That's when we went inside to order. I was personally looking at the environment that they were working. The same lady who was serving the drive thru, came to the counter to take my order. I asked for couple minutes because I was going to let my sister to order for everyone. The lady put the plates back and left us on the counter. Another lady, a nice one this time, was going to take our order, but a rude "manager", i would say, with attitude told the lady that was going to take order to charge another person, but the lady told him that she was taking our order, and still that guy sent her to charge another customer. After seeing that attitude that they had, I decided that I wasn't going to eat in that environment but my family decided that they were going to eat. My sister's plate was fine but my dad order a plate with a quarter of chicken, yucca and fried plantains and a mofongo on the side. He instead received basically a chicken thigh, a lot of green plantains and a little bit of yucca and the mofongo was bland. Nothing similar like a regular mofongo from food trucks. It was bland, and only plantains in that mofongo and no flavor. Also, the mayo-ketchup had days in the fridge because it was white nothing like a regular mayo-ketchup. Personally, I would never comeback to this establishment nor my sister which she was a huge fan of this place because it remember hers back when we were living in Puerto Rico. We pulled in here on a whim passing by because my husband is on keto. Anytime we see "bbq" it's a safe bet he will be able to eat there. Anyway it's cafeteria style. We didn't really know the names of any of the dishes (especially the sides). We ended up getting the shredded pork and chicken. I stuck to The rice as my side as I had no idea what the sides were except for the plantains and some cold salad options. All I can say is that what we ordered was exceptional! The pork and chicken were flavored fabulously! The rice was like nothing I've ever eaten. I should have sampled everything they had whether I knew the name or not! Lol.
