We visited Dos Bocas recently for the first time and were pleasantly surprised by how fun the atmosphere was and how great the food was. The mahi bites are amazing and their fish tacos were phenomenal. Everything we've had there has been really good and we look forward to going again. The servers are all top notch and very attentive. I have mixed feeling about this one. As a Puertorican myself. I love Puertorican food. And though I always appreciate the freshness of this food its downside is having to wait a bit longer. The food its self was good, it just took long. I do have to also add we were a party of 15. But I have been to places similar to this one with just me and my wife and we still have to wait. "Wow that's big" were the only words that could leave my mouth. This restaurant has the biggest snapper I have ever seen. My partner and I could've simply purchased one. It was fried to perfection but was honestly lacking in flavor. I also wished we were told how huge the fish was considering the cost was about $150 total. The fish came with your choice of two sides. Not only was the staff horrible but the food was bland. The manager did not want to fix the plate and made us pay for another meal. The service as a whole was horrible. We parked infront do the restaurant and got towed for no reason. We had our car seat inside the car we told the manager to get them to stop they said they couldn't help. I've always passed by this restaurant and never went in and now I'm glad I finally did!! We came here to celebrate a birthday and ugh it was so delicious. The Miami Vice is probably one of the best ones I had in awhile! You can taste each flavor that was in it and nothing had overpowered. The food was at an amazing portion. I hate leaving a restaurant overly stuffed. I left here feeling happy and satisfied! The staff were so sweet we were greeted with a smile and taken to our table quickly. Our server (I wish I remembered his name) was so energetic. It was pretty cool tho that the server had a picture of every meal on the menu so incase you had any questions he could show you. This place is visually appealing from the outside to the inside. Very vibrant and fun. Server was so nice and accommodating. I think her name was Verucasauce. The recommend dish was a flank steak with shrimp and cheese on it. I ordered that, oops. Not the best cut of meat obviously. They did what they could with seasoning but it ended up over-saltified with combination of that melted cheese on top. The mofongo was very good. I do love a mofongo. We ordered Dorado Fish breaded appetizer ($10) freshly fried but in the dry sideand two lemonades ($6 each) to start. Food is great. Drinks are well balances and flavorful. We were seated next to a speaker so it was hard to have a conversation. Service was OK at best. We had to call on our waiter a few times to get water and drinks refills. Stopped in for lunch after a coworker let me know about this place. It's located on 192 in the tourist area. But don't let that stop you. The place is large, and it looks like they may have live music at some point. The food was spot on! I ordered the Mofongo Relleno Pollo which was Stuffed Mofongo with chicken in garlic sauce. OMG! I could have put that sauce on anything. It was creamy and flavorful. My dining companion ordered Bistec Encebollado, steak with onions. This too was tender and full of flavor. Let me start by saying we are Puerto Rican, lived on the island and came from NY. We tried a Dominican spot not far from here which was okay. We also went to Pal Campo which was beautiful but expensive and just ok. We came here and this is the best food, prices, and service hands down! Angel was amazing!!!! The Mofongo was the best I've had in a long time. My husband said the bistec encebollado was just like his grandmothers. Our server was fantastic and we were constantly checked on. Ambiance: really nice restaurant, music playing not too loud and very Caribbean which is probably the best featured restaurant I've been to recently. Staff: Very friendly, courteous, attentive and professional staff all around. From the waitress/server to the floor assistants and cooks! Food: Amazing food choices and the food and appetizers were really, really good. Seasoned right and cooked to perfection! Price: a little on the high end for some of the dishes and appetizers BUT ... they were plenty and as I said, really, really good! Overall, would highly recommend if you've never been there before worth the trip. You can see for yourself and make this wonderful establishment your new home for authentic Spanish cuisine. I've tried other "popular" restaurants (Cilantro) and I'll tell you right now and in my opinion ... they have no chance in comparison to Dos Bocas! For me, well it was definitely worth the 2 hour commute. I came here based on another patrons ratings to see for myself and I would say, she wasn't wrong. It is a great place for family dinners and gatherings yes. Would I visit again? Yes, I would. BUT would have to be when I am in the area, absolutely. Absolutely delicious food! I had the fish tacos with this incredible cilantro cream sauce. One of my sons had a cheeseburger that was delicious in his view. The food came in large portions and was served in a reasonable amount of time. The establishment seemed understaffed, but it didn't really affect our meal. Everything was ehh only real plus was it was empty and had seating for 10+ group. The server seemed nice but they forgot things even though she wrote it or marked it down. Some items for the party took forever or were forgotten. Also when we got the food the main side mofongo was inconsistent and had no flavor. In other traditional Puerto Rican restaurants they have a dipping sauce or caldo that might have helped. The fried cheese with guava dip was probably the best thing there the rest of the food was nothing crazy. The empanadas had like half a spoonful of meat too. They had a few wall areas for pictures but nothing I can't just go I take pictures and leave. The beverages were more mix than alcohol so I would have had to get a double to even taste it. They also do something odd with the piña colada that they put blue coloring to it to show it's an original piña colada and not the one with baileys which I'm confused who would add Baileys to a piña colada. Why not die the Baileys one instead they blamed the new bartender for not knowing better well we have order piña coladas many times and they don't add blue curaçao to it ever. Live music only on specific days sucks but I get it. Was more excited to try a new PR place but honestly the location was the only plus as it's across Old town and next to world food trucks. read more

We've eaten here a few times already and it is always great. The restaurant looks good outside and on the inside it is very nice and beautiful! Nicely decorated per Holiday as well. The food is amazing, and the drinks are spectacular! The Piña Colada is amazing. The Ferrero Rocher is better than the Nutella. The mojito and the passion fruit drinks are great. The churrasco is not my favorite nor was the chimichurri sauce. The mofongo and sauce it came with was pretty good. The salad was great and the chicken stuffed with maduros was absolutely amazing as well as the rice. I for some reason forgot to take pics of ribs etc but everything is good. We celebrated my mom's birthday there as well and it was amazing and the way they sing and have the instruments is wonderful and makes you feel special for your special day! Only one downside on my visit but I hate it!.. Service Charge on my ticket. The only way that I agree for service charge if it goes 100 % to the waitress that gave me an excellent service , but I doubt it. Wow! What a surprise of great flavors. We began with the appetizer sampler. Amazing! My family just devoured everything in seconds. I wanted to try the stuffed Mofongos which is a mix of plantains. However I went with Lobster and Mofongos on the side so my family could taste pieces of the meal. Mofongos with the side of garlic sauce was perfect! Lobster was cooked to perfection. It was lunch, and I found this little treasure close to where I was working today. I did not want chicken, so I tried out the shrimp stuffed mofongo, and what a great decision ($23). It came in a big plate, and the mofongo took up nearly the whole bottom of it. The mofongo was settled in a seasoned broth, but none of the bites were dry or tasteless. No, each bite was delicious.
