I finally got the chance to speak to anomanager and the only thing that they could do was comp us one of the meals and yes they picked the cheapest one! Stopped by for my birthday to grab dinner. We sat outside and the band started playing around 9 pm. I enjoyed them and they even sang me happy birthday, but it was waaaay too loud. The outdoor space is very small, so the sound is just too loud to have tables that close to it. That did dampen our experience quite a bit. We ordered the large sharable plate for our larger table, and everything we tried on it was just okay.The ceviche was the best part in my opinion. I had a passionfruit mojito and that was really delicious! The chocolate cake they gave me for my birthday was also good. Stopped into El Cilantrillo while staying nearby and wanted something local instead of the usual chain options along Irlo Bronson. Glad I did. I ordered the mofongo con camarones and a Don Q rum cocktail. The drink was smooth and poured properly -- always a good sign. The mofongo itself had great flavor and a generous portion of shrimp on top. It leaned slightly sauce-dependent, but once I added the extra garlic sauce (highly recommend if you're a garlic fan), it really came together. The shrimp were cooked well, not rubbery, and the presentation in the green pilón was a nice touch. Portion size was solid and filling without feeling like overkill. Atmosphere was casual and comfortable -- not fancy, but authentic-feeling and welcoming. Service was friendly and efficient. Overall I'd give it a strong 8/10. I would definitely come back, but next time I'd probably try the pernil or churrasco to explore more of the menu. After a long walk through Oldtown my family, and I were super hot, and starving, so we stopped in to "El Cilantrillo". We thought, "what a beautiful restaurant the food must reflect the decor", and we were pleasantly surprised how good the food was, and service was on time. The hostess sat us down at this large table since we were a party of 8 people. When we sat down a photographer came by our table, and took our pictures. They came out very nice so most of us bought the photos. So we looked over the menu, and they had a nice selection of different dinner items, most of us ordered the skirt steak, and we all really enjoyed it. The skirt steak was really tender, full flavor, and a nice spice to it definitely would order that again when I go back to old town. We went here last night. We had a large party and we understand certain things are gonna happen. You get charge gratuity automatically which I'm ok with, you know you gotta wait for things longer.... Which I'm ok with.... Here is my issue for my poor review. 1. We had one guy take half our orders then disappear, then another person about 15 mins later come but to take the second order.... Why? 2. We give you our order You write it down and repeat it back to us and then leave.... Then you forget a child's meal and the wrong dish entirely for another after waiting for 1.5 hours to eat.... So wrong! We canceled their orders why wait another hour. 3. The way the food came no one got to eat together.... Food came out so random people sat watching others eat... On top of the crap service you ask for the gratuity be changed since obviously they failed on their service and you are met with crickets.... Went out with my family, and overall, we had a great experience. My fried Red Snapper meal was really good, though my fries came out a little cold. My wife ordered the Shrimp with Trifongo, and she really enjoyed it--all the shrimp were cleaned except for one, which she wouldn't eat. For dessert, we shared a Flancocho--out of this world with the flan and chocolate cake combo! This particular flan is different than the way others make it. This was a thicker, richer flan that reminded me of my mom's flan (and I very, very, rarely eat any flan because my mom's was simply the best ever). Nice and cool inside. Very spacious interior. Also offers outdoor seating. They have bar seats, booths, tables and half booths available. The booth seating was very comfortable. We were seated right away and it was not very busy. Unfortunately, it took the waiter almost 30 minutes to come take our order. We weren't in a rush so it worked out. I ordered a cup of water. When it was finally brought out. It ended up being a bottle of water with an extra charge of $3. I would have been fine with tap water but was never offered an option. I should have been informed of the upcharge. I don't speak Spanish so the waiter had a hard time understanding my questions as, unfortunately, it appeared he only spoke Spanish. My friend had to translate for me. I ordered the chicken with garlic sauce entree. I understood it was going to cost $2 for the sauce. I asked for it to be put in the side but it was instead spread over the top of the chicken. The chicken had good flavor. My friend enjoyed her nachos and fried pork entree. The servings were all very generous. What I didn't like is that it was difficult to know which entrees came with sides. Nothing on the menu indicated that. My chicken came with a green salad and I was not able to switch it for a different side, like steamed veggies, without incurring an upcharge. However, the pork came with 2 sides, a green salad and rice. Overall, the service was slow and we weren't checked on much throughout. The parking situation is not good, they only have a few spots that are regulated by security who are not proactively helping people secure parking. Let me start by saying that TikTok made us do it. We saw a video on TikTok that got us super excited about visiting this restaurant chain. I quickly located this location as it was only 15 minutes from the resort we were staying at. I made reservations about a week prior to our visit. Reservations through Google maps were ridiculously easy. I received confirmation the night before and about 10 minutes prior to arriving at the restaurant, which was refreshing. Parking was RIDICULOUS, and of course not the restaurant's fault. My husband dropped us off in front of the restaurant while he circled the parking lot several times before finally finding a parking space about half a mile away. (FYI, arrive about 30 minutes before your reservations or anticipated time in order to score a parking spot). As I walked in and informed the host we had reservations for 10, he quickly walked us to our table and informed us someone would be with us to take our drink orders soon. The restaurant is very nicely decorated, with open seating, a live band plays outside where more open seating is available. We sat inside near a window where we could enjoy the music and several patrons that were dancing to the music. It was really nice to say the least. 30 to 45 minutes after we were seated, our waiter finally came to take our drink and appetizers orders, at which point we were ready to place our entrée orders as well. Long story short, our appetizers and entrée orders came out at the same time. I have to admit that the food was delicious. The tostones and mofongo were a little dry but tasted good. We were happy with our meals overall but the service could have and should have been better. We arrived at 6:40 and left the establishment at almost 10 pm. We had to wait nearly 20 minutes for the check alone. I told him in advance it was my boyfriend's birthday so he can bring him a surprise cake after, towards the end of our meal we noticed another table getting a birthday cake and we never did. We ordered our food shortly after our drinks came. Once we received our food, our server was no where to be found for the rest of the night. My mofongo was cold as if it was sitting there, my boyfriend and our friend's chicken dinner was hard like rubber. Some other servers were cleaning dishes right almost on top of us next to our table, banging dishes and getting grease everywhere. Service was horrible!!! A laissez-faire attitude to their customers and even hostile in their tone! Ordered $300+ of food for a party and we were told it would be ready @11am. We arrived early and asked about the status of our order and were told it would be ready on time. It was not! In fact, it was set on a table and we were never told that our order was ready. When I went to inquire again well after 11am, they told me I needed to wait for them to package the food and to stand away while they packaged it. Packaging the food entailed putting the aluminum food bins in a paper bag. Something that should have taken less than one minute took another 10 minutes!!! And then they had to find a food cart to load the trays of food so we could move it to my car. This unprofessional and mediocre service is undeserving of any further business with this restaurant! If you are looking to cater Latin food in the Kissimmee area, spare yourself the grief, poor customer service, poor attitude, and just go elsewhere!
