We stopped for lunch. The sevice was great. We had fried pickles and hush puppies, they were delicious. I had the cheeseburger and fries which was delicious also. I love the way the place was decorated. I highly recommend.

I was expecting something that didn't stick to the roof of my mouth because it was so dry...

Meh. We made a pit stop here for lunch during a road trip. It was crowded with a good mix of people from all walks of life, so it must be really great... maybe our experience was just off. The atmosphere is laid back and casual and while we weren't there for live music, the stages looked really fun. Service was very good! I was surprised because it was crowded and said seat yourself... I wasn't sure how long it would take for a server to realize we sat down but it was super quick. She was so friendly and very prompt even though she had several tables. The food on the tables surrounding us looked really good; the southern staples were probably the best thing to get here, ideally. Me and my husband got the burnt ends pork sandwich and it was honestly the driest, saddest meat I've tasted. It literally looked like chunks of dry dog food. Thank goodness the bbq sauce was good because it made the meat somewhat edible. We got the jalapeño and bacon stuffed hush puppies for an appetizer, which turned out to be overly fried and dry. The white queso it came with as a dip wasn't great either, I found it pretty bland. The fried okra was delicious though, and my daughter liked her grilled ham and cheese sandwich. Can't say I'd be back, but if I did I'd definitely try their southern food. They have a daily blue plate special and I'll bet it's good! (It's Friday - fried chicken and mashed potatoes, dang!)

Martin's is a local favorite. Food is tastes good, prices are good and service is great. It's a great date night location, dinner with some friends or lunch with coworkers. It used to be considered a hole in the wall but it's anything but that. They have a section for late night live performances and a nice patio with inside dining too. My favorite dish are the steak bites. Seasoned well and cooked to your liking, you can't go wrong with this plus you get two sides!

My nephew comes over from Australia and visits some times. We have started a mission to find the best Po Boys everywhere we visit in the South. We have been working in down town Jackson Mississippi and are proud to crown Martin's the title of the best catfish sandwich in the capital district. The loaf was oven fresh and crusty, the catfish local and farm raised from the delta, lettuce crisp, tomato ripe and hard, the tartare sauce tangy. Catfish Po Boys are based on simplicity. Get the basics right and you will impress. Martin's does just that. If it's a nice fall day in down town Jackson, the patio and Po Boy is a great lunch choice. We found the Martin's experience to be the best.

Decent Old Fashion. It'll get you to where you need to be

Great food and service. Cannot complain about anything here. Will be doubling back to this spot when I'm back in the 'Sip

The fried clams are good but I could have drank the comeback sauce !! I ordered more it's that good.

This is a bar restaurant we sat inside on a hit Sunday afternoon, there was outdoor seating for cooler days. My husband had the steak gyros. I had deep fat fried Oysters, ok very crispy breading. The onion rings were delicious probably because the comeback sauce is one of the best I have had in Mississippi! We got to set ourselves and got a very efficient and friendly waitress.

Great spot for St.Patrick's Day, will be returning for drinks soon. Staff was friendly, not too crowded, indoor and outdoor areas to enjoy.

I visited this place with a college friend. It was our first time trying the place. It had a nice atmosphere, and the food was decent.

Rustic little spot near the corner of West and George St. I always thought it was strictly a bar, which probably accounts for me never eating here before. Only one guy worked the dining room but he did a good job for the most part. I ordered the Old Tavern Burger with the house cut fries. I asked if they really were house cut and he told me they cut them when ordered. My food didn't take long to come out and everything was piping hot. When I saw the shine on that bun and felt how soft it was, I knew I was in for a treat. This was one of the best burgers I've tasted. The patty was fresh and well seasoned and not dry at all. The fries made me super happy, as they were not only fresh cut but seasoned as well. While I was eating, two guys from the kitchen came out to check on everyone to ensure everyone was enjoying their food. My first visit won't be my last!
