The store is clean with nice options. The natural food section was larger than expected. I didn't find 2 things on my list but it is usually at higher end stores. A replacement item was comparable. This is a super large supermarket. Massive. Large sections for all the usual goodies including bakery, produce, frozen, dairy, seafood and butchery. Everything. I stopped in to put together a quick hotel room dinner and found the stuff I wanted. The only problem I had was that I ended up with the very last rotisserie chicken. I went into the store with my mother to grab some last minute things. The store was semi busy so we went to self check out which had no cash back and no cash transaction. As my mother proceeded to pay, the terminal asked her if she wanted cash back. She selected yes forgetting that it said no cash back.. were human. The employee that was working the self check out was extremely nice about the situation and understanding. He reassured us that someone would be coming to assist. And this is where everything went left. This woman storms over starts tapping on the screens and as my mother proceeded to apologize (as she did with the other gentleman... ) the woman named Cheryl who has short blonde thin hair, OLDer woman with glasses does not acknowledge my mother at all. She then says with an attitude "I'll meet you at customer service". Once we get to the customer service counter my mother asked her if she heard her speaking to her at the self check out . Cheryl says "I heard you". My mom states " you didn't say anything". Then Cheryl then says "oh". The interaction was EXTREMELY uncomfortable and INCREDIBLY RUDE. Truthfully it was giving racist vibes. I am not a race baiter by any means as I am a mixed race individual but I am calling it for what it felt like. This Martin's location is the best in town. One weekends it tends to be quite busy but our family still prefers this location the most. With very effective lighting and helpful employees, shopping here is very easy for us. Even though it can get quite busy, usually nothing is sold out. We prefer Martins for most of our groceries over Walmart and Aldi. Very good prices on groceries as well as their gas station. read more

Terrible experiences with the delivery and curbside. Items missing, squashed produce, and no response from Martin's via email or chat. When I did have someone on the phone, she said they'd had issues with the app, Instacart, and because of Peabody, it will take a day to refund the missing items. The fact is, I don't care whose fault it is. I just know I've paid three times for service from Martins and it is sub-par to say the least. This the only place in Winchester to get this selection and quality--I've shopped here a long time. Perhaps the management has changed, or maybe they're stretched too thin since they've offered curbside and delivery options. In any case, I suppose it's worth going for the items you can't get anywhere else, but don't bother with delivery, and if you do curbside, check your items carefully. read more

This is a poorly managed food store in the corona virus. Their strategy leads to an hour long wait as you check out. I have never seen such inefficiency in this pandemic. I will never go back. I despise other stores who sell groceries, but I'd rather give up something else other than time. Luckily I was buying a lot. Others waited for an hour for 3 items. Purchased a 3.2lb angus London broil except is wasn't. They packaged 2 pieces of meat in on package. Anyone who has ever cooked before knows there is a difference between a 1.5lb London broil and a 3lb one. Their intentionally deceptive sales practices ruined what was supposed to be a nicely smoked Sunday dinner. If I wanted two steaks I would have purchased two steak. read more

I have happily shopped at this store since it opened. Now I really need it to be available to pick-up groceries as my husband and I are both vulnerable to COVID19. They are not there for elderly, vulnerable people!!! On the occasions I have done pick-up orders I have checked my order at the allocated time to see if the products are all there, especially the ones I absolutely need. Accuracy is NOT the case. I pick them up and they are not there. When I questioned the manager on duty he told me that they show products available by region on the website not the individual store. What? I shop here at least 4 days a week for a variety of things. It is an extremely well-managed store and though food prices are really high and getting higher all the time, the store offers great deals/sales/BOGO's and is always clean and the staff is helpful and friendly. I would like to especially recognize the gas pump attendant who was on duty on Friday, June 21 at approximately 12:00. He came out of the kiosk to pump gas for a very frail, elderly man and I have seen him do this multiple times for other elderly or infirm people. I don't know his name but he certainly deserves to be recognized for this--a service not seen much anymore--if ever! He should be Employee Of The Month! Thank you! read more

Martin's is a massive full service grocery store for a city with a population pushing 30K. I didn't know this place was open 24 hours a day until I got into town and went shopping for those things that are a hassle to fly with... full sized bottles of shampoo and toothpaste because I'll be here a week and travel size just won't do. The Martin's store in Gateway Plaza always appears clean and is one of nicer grocery stores in the area. It is a little more pricey than doing your grocery shopping at say Walmart, but it is also a better overall experience. Most everyone working at this location has always seemed friendly enough. The web site kept getting stuck. It took me more time to place the order than if I had gone in. When I checked out it didn't take my promo code, and it said my card wasn't valid, yet it confirmed my order. Overall, it was confusing and time xonsuming. I had to call the store to remedy, and while they were helpful( removed fee and confirmed the order, and that they'd been having problems).. I will never order again from here due to sheer frustration. read more

OMG!! I lived in Winchester for 3 weeks and have been to Martins 3 times. I love this superstore! I love the salad bar and the large selection of items. I would reccomend this store to anyone. The staff are friendly. This is what I like about living in the country. Sure you get some bad apples anywhere you go, but that's life. Kudos to you Martins! Keep doing what you do. read more

One of the only 24-hour grocery/pharmacy stores in the Winchester area. Clean, spacious and well-stocked I had a decent 2-AM shopping experience. Staff was very friendly. Evidently supplied by Giant Foods so if you are looking for store brands, expect to see that line in Martins. read more

So lets say you changed your phone number and never changed it on your bonus card profile, then a new person has your old phone number and goes to get gas and uses all of your discounts (gas points), then how happy would you be? read more

Nice large grocery store but a few shortcomings. The prepared food area was especially disappointing. The salad bar had a good variety and fresh food. The hot food was another story. The selection was fairly limited and they don't offer a "meal deal" like almost every other supermarket where you choose one meat/main dish with two sides for a reasonable price. They also don't make fresh panini sandwiches like other Martin's I have visited. They did offer a few prepared panini's but they didn't look too appetizing so I picked up a chicken salad croissant. That was a mistake as it had zero flavor. The beer selection here is fairly decent. The checkout area was like being at Walmart. Only two registers were open and all the people in those lines had full carts. The self-service area was ok unless you needed assistance or in my case buying beer. The young lady in this area had about three people lined up with issues and looked as though she might pull her hair out any minute. read more
