Use to be my goto spot in the morning but will find a new breakfast place. The prices keep going up but the quality of the food is going down. I don't get upset over a wrong drink or getting a sausage biscuit instead of steak. But when you jack up the price and can get a better cut of meat out of an ALPO can, time to move on. After leaving the Cadillac dealership, we stopped by here for a quick bite. Service: the customer service was pleasant. Food. We didn't want breakfast so we opted for lunch instead. I got a double bacon burger combo with fries and drink and Hubby got a steak sandwich combo with onion rings and drink. The best way I can describe the burger is "wet". I can't say juicy because that would be a description for a burger that you can tell was made in house. This burger must have been something premade that was previously frozen prior to cooking. I really never leave bad reviews but I 11:12 am on Thursday 10/30/25 me and my wife was thinking about breakfast and we only went to Martins once before this and I called in to ask only two question about the steak biscuit and was the sausage pork and I ask if I can place my order over the phone the lady said yes you can and ask a younger gentleman to take my order. I come in about 15-20 just to make sure it ready and it not and instead of saying hold on we still making which I waiting an extra 5-7 minutes then the lady gives me attitude and say we don't take orders over the phone you have to come in or Uber eats it. So I said okay it not that deep and I ask for some Jelly the other lady just grab two strawberry jelly and tossed it on the counter. This is a classic breakfast spot that isn't trying to do too much but does the basics extremely well. The biscuits are huge and great tasting. I've been coming to this location for years. They are quite busy in the mornings and the drive thru line is usually backed up to the road so come with some patience. My go to biscuits are the chicken egg and cheese, sausage egg and cheese or the country ham egg and cheese. You can't go wrong with any of those options. The biscuits and gravy are nice as well. Eh! It's okay, not my favorite but all in all okay. Martin's is an always packed breakfast/lunch spot that I pass by on occasion. Normally I look at the line which is almost always outside of the parking lot and go, I'm not waiting in line for this but I had time so decided to see what the fuss was and I'm still kinda looking to be honest. They are known for their biscuits. And they've got all the types you could want, from chicken to steak, to sausage, to bacon, etc. The fillings themselves were okay - I ordered a set of chicken (which was cold), a steak (which was odd tasting), and a breakfast platter which was lacking and expensive. The biscuits themselves were okay - dry and not extremely tasty to me. I personally don't see why the line is always outside the store. Note to self....follow my first mind! Went to Martin's today for a steak biscuit, in which I've done many, many times. However, the last two times weren't the greatest experiences, but I gave them another shot nonetheless! I was in the drive-through, and it was moving so slowly I decided to go into the restaurant, which I am really glad I did. Because I was able to see that they were fully staffed & had plenty of people working. Had I gone through the drive-thru, based on my experience, I would have assumed they were shorthanded. I ordered my food and it took an extremely long time, but I thought it would be worth the wait. A young lady who came through the drive-thru came in and demanded another sandwich because she said her ribeye steak biscuit was cold. They argued with her back-and-forth, she demanded another sandwich and ended up getting it. I should have taken can notice of this because it could've save me some grief and money. I waited for my sandwich, asked for mustard, did not notice the young lady gave me grape jelly, went to my car and looked in the bag and realized I got grape jelly so I went back. I touched my sandwich as I was pulling off and it was absolutely cold just like the ladies sandwich. I started to go back, but I just decided not to, I literally just threw it away. This is so unacceptable Martin's. Everybody wants to blame bad service on one Covid, but Martin's was fully staffed today and they were still serving cold food. Ordered the breakfast special with chicken egg and cheese biscuit. Got home no grits and eggs were ice cold, I don't live that far from them. I call them and told them what they missed they said come back and we will correct the order. I get back, I say through the call box my issues and the lady says, why didn't you come in? I ordered through the call box why come in. I get to the window she passes the rest of the ordered that they missed (can you believe it was cold as heck) now I got everything extra cold. That did it for me. I asked her to reorder my meal, out of the question. So here I go home to reheat a super super cold meal. No don't go here if you want at least some service and the rest just forget it, it's a waste of your and my time. They should close this place down. That's the answer to what they could improve. My first time here. My good friend raved about this place-constantly raved. Like for years -raved-. So we meet up and here goes... You come in and order at the counter. They call out your order when it's ready. The place was half full inside, but that drive thru was loooooong. I digress. They only serve breakfast and lunch. So if you want lunch at 9am, order it. And vice versa for breakfast at 2pm. Cashier was a little lady with the comments...lol We ordered, large steak and gravy biscuit. It was like pouring a pot of gravy on top of that biscuit. Waaaaay too much. It's white gravy, which I personally do not like. A Pork tenderloin plate, which he constantly raved about was nothing more than a pork cube steak. If you know about cube steak, sometimes it ain't always tender. This was dry and tough. Didn't even try it further after two attempts. Dental work is expensive... ya dig! I had a steak biscuit, a hashbrown patty, and a Coke. The steak was cube steak. It was tender, so no problem there, but I was expecting more. I mean he RAVED about this place. The biscuit was ok. After waiting patiently for about 3 minutes at the intercom to place my order, a person (who sounded like she really hated her job) came on and took my order. I ordered a large sausage biscuit. I was in a very slow-moving line for about 10 minutes. The car ahead of me pulled off. Got to the window and was given a total. I paid and got an order--the wrong order. It was a chicken biscuit. We always ride past this place and the line is always wrapped around the corner so we never stop, but today we got lucky, well maybe not so lucky. We decide to go in instead of using the drive through the place is very nasty and outdated in the inside. the cashier assumes you been eating here all your life and barely gives you and assistance with menu. But ok, we ordered two sausage biscuit sandwiches and two burgers, hash browns and fries Everything was horrible the burger was premade maybe the night before, they use very old grease that hadn't been changed because the hash browns and fries had that horrible after taste. As always the food is excellent and The portion size is exceptional for the price. Expect it to be busy during peak times but you get through the line fairly quick. The problem that I saw was the floor at the morrow location was disgusting, not like they were busy and just hadn't swept either. There was some kinda of sludge under the milkshake machine. Had I seen that prior to ordering I sure wouldn't have done so. We also had ants on the bench where we sat inside the dining area. There are two major reasons to visit Martin's: Biscuits and sweet tea. These folks make, from scratch, some of the best biscuits to be had in the Southern Tradition. And there's a variety of meaty goodness to put on top of that biscuit and eat it. (I tend to stick to plain ol' egg & cheese on a biscuit.) Okay, there may be other reasons to visit Martin's.
