Martin's is a good place to get your groceries. I go there when I only need a few things or I am bitter enough with Wal-Mart and Meijers. Their prices are a little on the high end (I can't ever seem to leave spending less than $50) which I would expect from the smaller size company, but that does not deter me. This particular location has their products organized somewhat strange from what I am used to. Take for example, trash bags. Most other stores would place these in the paper good section which would be by the toilet paper / paper towels. In this store they are located in the "Picnic Goods" section which is over by frozen foods section. Again, this is not enough to deter me, but it does cause my trips to this store to take a little longer as I have to walk up and down looking at what is in each aisle. If I had to pick one thing about this location that needs to improve it is their checkouts. More often than not, I find that the lines are long and it takes me 10+ minutes to checkout. My favorite thing about this (and all Martin's) is their produce / meat. Nobody in the area can touch them on their quality. Quite often, my wife and I will buy our can goods from one store and the rest from Martin's because it is worth the extra trip. read more

Their receipt is crap, sometimes it shows the sale price other times not. Sometimes sale items savings bunch together. You have to be a forensic account to demistify the garbage. Then have the mis fortune to go to the service desk, it took the vile little woman five minutes to go out only to be treated like you were less than human , and how dare me question the over charge. Get the calculator out and act above me, well don't worry you vile a hole , I will go else where and I suggest you do the same, save some money and grief! read more

When is comes to grocery shopping I don't usually come to Martin's, but I do come by on occasion to their deli.  I have been fond of the muffins near the deli that are technically one of their bakery items.  I also love their panini sandwiches, corndogs, and their honey mustard they have available for dipping.  Their salad bar has been updated and I would recommend checking it out but keep in mind it is pay by weight.  Their sushi is freshly made and you can watch the employee make it.  I am not a big raw fish person so I usually will grab one that is vegetarian if I get any at all.  They do have a Starbucks inside which is an added bonus.  In their bakery area I have always enjoyed their muffins, specifically the poppy seed muffin and the blueberry muffins.  Overall I have been enjoying Martin's for years and would recommend coming in specifically for their deli. read more

I'm shocked to see anything besides glowing reviews- Martin's is an absolute gem in the grocery world! It has more seafood than competitors (we are on a lake after all!), has a Starbucks in-store, a lovely cheese display, plentiful ready to eat options, and a spectacular salad bar. Quick lunch? Try their salad bar!! I eat here once a week. Plenty of choices: veggies, fruit, meats, cheeses, pasta & grain salads...you can't go wrong! Their flower club is a deal, buy a card and get a fresh flower bouquet every month. I must admit I forget a lot, but it's a cool concept! Their meat is fresh, lots of choices. Bad, Bad, Bad experiences here! Many products out of stock for days! Inconsistent produce and meat quality. Product that doesn't scan correctly or at all and self-check out that takes longer because the machines aren't working properly. But the worst is lack of service in assisting customers! The front Service Desk seems to be the "hang out" for workers to BS or complain about the job and co-workers. There have been customers (including us) looking for assistance to only be ignored or "handed-over" to someone else (apparently the employee was too busy doing nothing to help). Whoever manages this store, needs a "refresher course" in remembering "customers are your lifeline..." and respect that because without them...you won't survive! Off to Meijers! read more

Horrid rude cashier working Saturday, November 28 around 12pm. My 88 year old mother, who has shopped at your store for YEARS was treated so badly by that terribly rude young lady behind the register. She told mom "it's people like you who are making us all sick wearing your mask like that." My mom took the mask from her nose for a moment to freaking BREATH!!! You obnoxious brat!!! We are in the process of moving to St. Joseph from out of state. I ran in here a few nights ago to get some bread, milk and etc. I couldn't find cream cheese. I asked a couple of employees were I could find it. They didn't know and offered no help. I finally found it but, not in the cheese section but, in the breakfast section. Really, an entire refrigerator case labeled breakfast? I finally made it to the cashier. He asked if I had a Martin's card. I said no just moving here. I asked him if there was one I could use. He said no, because of discount coupons. Didn't offer me any advise on how to get one. This is the closest grocery store to the house. I hope Meijers is better. I hate to drive 30 miles to Kroger's. read more

It is not the first time I buy a rotisserie chicken and the top is ok but the bottom is uncooked, but today the legs and wings had even blood. It was disgusting. I also have to say that the customer service sucks in this place. read more

On our annual MI vacation we stopped by to get MI apples and wine . It was very clean , workers were kind and personable.

My now husband and I used Martin's floral department for our centerpieces and bridal party bouquets. I couldn't recommend them more! The centerpieces won't be ginormous, but for the price you pay it is an excellent deal! Also, the flowers for the bridal party were GORGEOUS! We got 22 centerpieces, 5 bridesmaids bouquets, a bridal bouquet, and all the corsages and boutonnieres for $1300!! If you want real flowers at your Southwest Michigan wedding but don't want to break the bank, this is the place to go!! read more

I visited this store on a weekend trip to Michigan. I was so happy that they had a Starbucks inside the store. I was also pleased with all of the deli and hot foods they had to offer. The prices were very cheap compared to Chicago grocery stores. Also there was a large selection of fruits and veggies and they all looked to be in very good condition. I will be shopping at this store whenever I go to Michigan for trips from now on. read more

I just have to give the deli employees a great review because at lunch time they are pretty swamped and many times they are out of the two items my coworker and I want. Usually just the awesome chili, seven layer salad or the amazing egg salad sandwich. All the times I have been there I have at least found one person who openly is willing to make me the sandwich and salad and the one time when they put on the chili. Great service. Agree with Michael, great place to grab sandwiches, snacks, sodas/beer, whatever you need for the beach. When we couldn't find the disposable cameras, one of the cashiers directed us to them (an endcap hidden by another display). Decent organic section, deli "5-layer taco dip" pretty darn good. Downside.. Cashiers & customer service employees seem to not enjoy their job. Not friendly, almost rude... The lack of friendly employees has turned me off to using this local supermarket :( read more

Always been a great store!! This week I go in to shop and can not find things! Some how many of the things I buy are not there. Asking later I find one has moved 10 aisles to the north, Having walked to the south end with my cart didn't have the energy to hunt any more.There is a simple solution, when you move things a sign indicating where they have moved to would very helpful!!! read more

This is the best grocery store that I've ever shopped at. The staff is so friendly and helpful, the selection is great, and if you shop the sales, you can get good deals. I use Groceries to Go a lot. It is superior to Shipt, Clicklist, etc. You get personal attention, your groceries are always ready on time, and Rachel (who is in charge of Groceries to Go) makes sure that you are 100% happy. Just today she emailed me to tell me that an item that I buy a lot is being discontinued and offered to set some aside for me before they run out. You just can't get better service from a grocery store!!! read more

Specifically drove 20 miles to buy specific vitamin supplements from the pharmacy. Website said the pharmacy was open 9-6 on Saturdays only to find out they changed their hours and closed at 4pm! Very frustrating when you make a special trip!! I will be ordering off Amazon instead-can't support local stores if they aren't open! read more
