Pros: nice view by the water, plenty of seats, plenty of parking. Now for the rest... Our server was obviously swamped, my cider (despite how pretty) was off, and the food.... We came because we were told the onion rings were amazing. They definitely looked it, except they were cold and kinda soggy. Then my fish was very dry, the sauce saved it and made it edible. I tried the chicken bacon ranch sandwich and the chicken on it was very bland but ok otherwise, would not get again. The stir fry is not good. The gloopy sauce was excessive and not good, also spicier than expected, but that may not bother others. The sauce needs to be thinned out and reduced by a lot. I did not finish it. They can skip the garlic bread for this dish, does not go together and they put it right in the spicy sauce. I have tried quite a few things here. The chocolate cream pie is just ok and has a thick gelatin puddingy texture. Croissant sandwich is just ok. Scampi had too much cheese and is oily. The ranch dressing is good but ask for extra. Clementine is a popular spot but we were able to get a table easily on a Friday night for dinner. The food was good. I got the chicken quesadilla and it was good. The chicken was very juicy. It is served with sour cream and salsa. My friend ordered the perch sandwich and thought it was okay, she did enjoy the fries and the tartar sauce. This place is cool! We watched about 5 boats get loaded into the water with a forklift while we ate lunch out on the terrace. My wife and I had what we thought looked like the best thing on the menu, the baked croissant with shrimp and crab. It was delicious! My only note is that their regular fries are pretty bland. Half the table got the onion rings while the other half waited an unacceptable amount of time. Dirty dishes were not taken off the table in a timely manner. Parking is ample and easy in their lot. They have outdoor seating on the canal, but we opted to eat indoors as it was a little warm out that day. The inside kind of gave an old school supper club feel. The staff were very friendly and service was great. They a have a small but diverse selection of local beers and some delicious sounding mixed drinks. The menu has a little bit of everything. I got the tuscan linguine noodles with shrimp. The flavor was lacking some and it was dry. It cost extra for the shrimp, but it was a fair amount for the price, and they were large size. Rare that I want to return to a restaurant for a specific dish, but we had dined at the original location a year earlier, and the "mess o perch" had stuck in the taste buds of my brain. So I made a plan to visit their 2nd location, and ordered the same dish. We sat on the patio, which overlooks a marina, service was pokey, and the food coming out even pokier. Had "Six inches" of onion rings to start, and they were great. 45-60 minutes later our dinners arrived, and the fish was as I remembered, top notch. Our server was friendly but rather inattentive. Went with a group of 6 around 6:30 Thursday night and got right in. We were celebrating a birthday. We sat right by a window so it's nice to look out over the river. Too bad it wasn't a sunny day. They do have a patio, which would be great on a warm day. The nachos are large enough to share for the whole table. The steak was cooked perfectly. We were there for lunch early, around 12:30 pm. We ordered the 6" onion rings and were VERY disappointed. They weren't crunchy at all. They were more "doughy" instead of crunchy. I think they were poorly undercooked. Our waitress never returned to see how we liked them. We're had them dozens of times before and they were great in the past. We also needed refills on our iced teas. We sat our glasses near the outside of the table hoping our waitress would see that they were empty, grab them and refill them for us. She walked by several times and totally ignored us. I finally got her attention and requested refills for both of us. Our entrees were "good". No complaints there. :) When we got up to leave, I noticed an 1/2 eaten french fry under the table. We did not have any sort of fries with our meals on Saturday. Then, my husband said "look at the windowsill". Oh my! I was shocked to see just how dirty / filthy it was. There was dried food and overall "dirt" on the windowsill. I've been coming to Clementine's Too for over a decade, maybe two. I have gotten to know the staff a bit over the years, and have attended private parties here in the past. I have never had a bad experience at Clementine's too. I haven't yet gone to the Clementine's in South Haven because of distance, but if you love this restaurant, I'm sure you'll love the original. For my birthday my parents, husband, and myself came in for lunch. With the cold weather I personally came in with a jacket, but the temperature of the restaurant was warm enough I took it off almost right away. When it's warm, there is outdoor seating, but it still being February that wasn't set up yet. Bathrooms were clean, as expected since I have never seen them dirty. Ambiance is casual, and I imagine a casual business meeting could go well. We came in at 11:30am on a Saturday and there was no wait. Once we sat down and had gotten our water, we decided on what to order. My husband ordered the Winchester burger, my mom ordered the "oh my darling" sandwich, my dad ordered "great Mexican" nachos off the munchie (aka appetizer) menu, and I got the Clementine's Club sandwich. My mom commented that she was very full after about 75% of her meal was finished and was very pleased with her meal. My dad agreed with the waiter when they advised the nachos would in fact be enough for a single person meal and even needed a box. My husband loved his burger, commenting only that it was delicious, and had very little as left over. I get anxious eating out, so as usual most of my meal went uneaten at the restaurant. However, I loved my sandwich and side of baked potato. The turkey was thick and dispute usually ordering no tomato on most sandwiches I'm glad to report I was glad I didn't for this sandwich because it was perfectly ripe. I'm definitely glad so chose to come here for my birthday and will certainly be coming back soon. read more

Where to start!? - We went there for prime rib to celebrate a good cancer result. It wasn't on the menu so we ordered something else. Then we overheard another waitress list it as a special to the next table. Our waitress never told us about the specials. Shucks. - there was a fruit fly in my water. We asked a waiter to get a new glass but he never showed up again. - The wax paper on the bottom of my potato skins was a DISASTER! Everything stuck to it, and when cutting the skins - the wax paper also got cut and ended up on my fork. When I tried to take them home I couldn't get the skins off the paper and literally used my fingers to pry them off the paper into the container. Really people? Wax paper on a hot cheesy item? It doesn't work. - a child threw a package of crackers on the floor. A waitress came past with empty hands .... looked at it and walked on by. Another waitress came past and stepped on it and still didn't pick it up. Just messy and lazy. - my husband put down cash to pay and wanted change. My friend and I decided to head to Clementines Too for dinner. Got seated in the front part by the bathrooms which is usually the area that doesn't get too much attention from the servers so I sort of knew we were in for a challenge to see if it kept up it tradition. Unfortunately it did as the server we had was one of the worse I have ever had. Not attentive and when they were, was not personable at all. Very rude. The hostess was wearing sweat pants and someone came out of the kitchen with see through leggings with a hole on the side of them, you could see her panties. The food, had to have the manager come over as the chicken strips had a horrible taste to them. He took them back and came back and made a statement that the cooks said they tasted okay. Glad they liked them and hope they finished them so not to waste them. Gross! I think I need to give this place a rest for a while until they can figure out servers/service. read more

Clementine's is an absolutely delightful restaurant with waterfront views, ample seating, and a large menu. They have a few healthy options, but I'd consider most items tasty midwest comfort food: think fried seafood and cheesy goodness. Mike behind the bar is the friendliest guy who must walk 10 miles a day in this restaurant alone! A change of light fixtures, carpet, and wall art could go a LONG way to improve the atmosphere, but until that comes we still love it! read more

Went to Clementines on a Friday night at 6:30 and they said it was a 45 minute wait. Only ended up being a 25 minute wait and they sent you a link to your phone once checking in through a text. The link they sent you showed what place you were in line, how many in your party, and how long you have waited. You could also see the same details for everyone checked in. I thought this was a cool feature that the restaurant offered. I ended up getting the clam chowder soup and chicken Alfredo penne pasta. Food was plentiful, flavorful, and reasonable priced. The waitress was very attentive and friendly. The food came out in the right amount of time (not too fast but not too slow). To sum up, would definitely go back to Clementines due to the great food and friendly wait staff! read more
