THIS PLACE IS AMAZING. Go here if you have a potential expensive transmission problem! These people…read moresaved me $3,000! Everyone was so nice and helpful, thank you guys!!! Backstory: Boyfriend tried to show me how to change my oil on a Ford Explorer, and accidentally emptied some transmission fluid. He realized it immediately so I did not drive it and had it towed to a local car repair shop. I pulled in and he showed me my transmission fluid and told me my transmission was failing in 1st and 2nd gear and it would be $3,000 to replace it. Told me that he didn't think it would drive home. I didn't have the money immediately (SO glad I didn't), so I paid to have the transmission refilled and went home to panic. Made an appt with Bradshaw's in Portland, whom flipped and ran all diagnostics on the transmission and couldn't find anything wrong with the transmission and said it was running great for how high of mileage it is.

It's taken me two years to decide if I should write this review. I researched transmission shops…read morelong and hard before I went to Bradshaw's, based strictly on the great reviews (and yes, they ARE very nice people). My 2002 Pontiac Trans Am had been over revving, but losing power, as it downshifted to climb hills. A couple thousand dollars later, with multiple sensors replaced, Bradshaw's deemed it repaired. Unfortunately, it malfunctioned exactly the same way on my return home. When I took it back they decided it was the transmission (which we had always thought it would be). $2500+ later, the transmission was rebuilt. On the trip home, more codes came on. More sensors were replaced. In total I spent around $5000.00, ending up with a 24 month/25k mile warranty. Last week, exactly two months after the warranty expired, but with only 6401 miles on the new tranny, it began over revving on hills again, with the same loss of power. This time I took it to a local shop. They discovered in one hour of shop time that the speed sensor was not plugged in all the way, which tricked the transmission into shifting or not shifting. My bill: $86.00 (incl tax). Bottom line: It really makes me wonder now if I needed the transmission to be rebuilt. Or anything else done, for that matter.

I took my Jaguar here because it stopped on me. I called and asked Quan if I can tow it there and…read moreif her can look at it for me. He said yes. I gave this the code error. I had it towed by AAA on May 1, 2026. The next week I called to see if he had a chance to look at it and he said no. I did the same the next week, same answer. I called again the 3rd week and he said he was short-staffed and would call me the next week. This continued on for 6 weeks! He NEVER called me back. Finally the 2nd week of June, I went there with a tow truck to pick it up and take it to another shop. He was surprised. The car was not in the shop or parked in front. We walked around back and there it was, parked in the middle of all of his junk cars that didn't work or was abandoned! He asked us to come back in 30 minutes, so they could move all of the cars around it and get it out. We came back, and all of the cars were moved, except the one directly behind it. It wouldn't start. They tried jumping it and doing other stuff. After another 30 minutes, they were able to get it out with some type of manual pulley. I looked Quan in his face and asked him when he planned on looking at my car and why was it parked in his back "junkyard"? He didn't/wouldn't even answer me. He had one of his workers pull it out and around front to get it loaded on the tow truck. He went back inside and didn't come out. He didn't apologize to me and never said a word!! In addition to this, I had a For Sale sign on it because I was selling it and had it posted online. I lost out on money because people were contacting me to purchase during those 6 weeks it just sat there. I took it to a specialty shop that was able to diagnose and fix it in a couple of days for less than $200. Do NOT go to this shop! The customer service is bad! Maybe it was a blessing in disguise! I may have dodged a bullet!! I wish I could post the pics!! Shaunette

Saved Me and My Vehicle: I can't say enough about the front…read moredesk, Dan and his associate. I was traveling from Idaho coming through Portland and my car was burning oil and loosing power. I came into Ken's Van Damme's late in the morning, the employees were very busy, with a busy schedule. The men at the front desk listen to my problem with the car, even looking over some paper work I had on some issues about the car. They were so polite and professional. I was traveling alone and after hearing that, they made it a point to fit me into their busy schedule and fix my car, they even gave me a AAA discount. I feel they were my angels. Now, I can make it back to Idaho. If you ever want a reputable, reliable mechanic shop, I would definitely take your car to them. My car now runs fabulous. I would give them 10 stars, mostly for being so trustworthy, professional. Janet Riegel

I Took my daughters car there to go over a clutch issue because i didnt have the time to do it…read moremyself (im aslo a tech) and she needed her car asap. I explained to them in detail what i had done, and what parts i had replaced. Their idea was to replace the same part i did instead of diagnosing the entire sysytem to pinpoint the problem as a shop should...so they call me up the day before pick up to inform me that the problem isnt the part i replaced (big suprise) and low and behold they want another 1400 to crack into the actual problem, and that i just basically paid them 1300 to babysit my daughters car for a week. Instead of diagnosing the system they just threw parts at it...not a good look fellas...so when i get her car back i will go over the lil "easter eggs" i hid to see if it was put back together correctly (i know it wasnt) becuase there should be supplements...my advice is pay those techs better so corners dont need to be cut...and yall wont get put on blast for this type of work...
