We have gone to all of the MARU locations and this one just hits different. Being from the coast and finding a sushi bar that is repeatable has been a challenge, however all locations MARU has to offer you cannot go wrong. MARU in MURFEESBORO just offers a different ambience of flavor to fish selection. The owner of the restaurants has fine taste and has taken notice of us visiting each location and always checks to make sure we have had a wonderful experience. Beautiful atmosphere and excellent service. Enjoyed delicious teriyaki w shrimp and my friend had miso soup and ginger salad.

We ordered with open minds and high hopes. Our party of five adults selected generously from the menu prior to making our take away order with the plan of being ready for in store pickup as soon as the food came out from the kitchen. The ordered included complete dinners with soup and salads and a side of kimchi. A maki order of 2 regular and 2 specialty were also selected. -Rolls were packed so that all slid into one another at one side of the take out clamshell, despite our adding a 20% gratuity for this take away order. -the kimchi was simply not included despite the full charge on our bill and the 20% gratuity left for a simple take out order. -the portion size was stingy, tiny, paltry, embarrassing, and helped earn them a "No Go" award from our group for any future weekly dinner orders. -chicken dishes had hard thin scanty amount of overcooked chicken breast which may have been pan fried. The one called Teriyaki chicken had no grill flavor to be found and a thin very pale sauce without even a slight nod to familiarity with any known teriyaki flavor. -Sushi was messy as previously mentioned and nothing special. Sizing was modest so that fish was difficult to locate in most rolls. Disregard this review at your own risk. It's your money. Vote with your feet. read more

I did not go there for sushi while the rest of my family wanted sushi. I ordered Bibimbap in stone pot. First of all don't get the pot because they charge extra 3$ and it's not like it's cooked in the pot and it's just a bowl. Second that meal had 3 very small and thin slices of meat in it. They actually not even noticeable and clearly underserved. I would recommend Soy Bistro if you want to get a good one that qualifies as a meal. My husband had bulgogi and he said he doesn't see any reason to be back at that place. Ambiance is nice, but it echos in that room. Service is good. read more

We went for dinner the first time tonight. We were pleasantly surprised. The dining area is open with plenty of seating. They also offer sushi bar seating. The service was great, and the food was excellent! We ordered the softshell crab appetizer, a salad, the hot night sushi roll, and the Yum Yum sushi roll. I live on the west side of town close to this new restaurant. Just got back from ordering off their lunch menu. Got their lunch special with shrimp. Everything from the service, to the miso soup, to rice, to veggies to the shrimp were wonderful. Couldn't understand any lyrics to the music, but it was very authentic, I'm sure. Food is good but one of the waitresses seemed unhappy and unwilling to serve., not sure if she had a bad day or just does not like us.

We were so excited to try this new place in Murfreesboro! However, it was a highly disappointing experience. We had a party of 7 , we were seated quickly , which was great ! However, this is really the only good point of the evening . We ordered , the waitress left off TWO entrees when the food arrived. They also tried to give us another tables order. We got drinks when we arrived , then she NEVER checked for refills or asked if we needed anything . Mind you the restaurant was not that busy . The waitress spent most of her time standing in the front of the restaurant. Twice two people in our party had to flag her down because they wanted another glass of wine . Mind you , she never asked if anyone else needed anything while multiple people had empty glasses . The food as sub par . The tables total bill was over $300 . I I would HIGHLY recommend spending your money elsewhere for sushi if you want to dine in. Maybe the take out service could get an order right and you would not have to worry about not having a drink refill . We will NOT be coming back and will not recommend to anyone ! read more
