This is the place for 1 or 4 used tires. They have 100's. Prices are fair, service is great, and you just drive in, sit in your car, and they do the rest. This has got to be the best operation I have ever seen.Marvin was on site, working his ass off, along with a crew of 6 others, all busy doing removals, cleaning, mounting, balancing and last the water tank test, checking for any leaks. A friend of mine needed a SUV replacement tire in a pinch and we came here on their recommendation. Pros: - In all honesty, this would not have been the first place I would have chosen, but that would have been solely on appearance. That said, staff was nice and very efficient. This is a place to go for budget constraints especially if you're willing to do used tires - A major point, purchasing a used tire here is a mere fraction from pretty much any new purchase I've made at any tire joint - Staff did show concern regarding an unrelated previous job. It really had nothing to do with this visit but I appreciate the vigilance Cons: - Not the "shiniest" establishment I've ever been to, but they got the job done. Called initially to verify whether or not they had my size tire in stock, spoke to a woman around 11am Wednesday morning and was told they DID have two tires in stock matching the size i was looking for. I called back around 3pm to ask if they still had the tires, and she told me they had multiple sets in stock, i asked for a price, and then asked if i drove my car there if they could remove the wheels from the vehicle and i was told they didn't have a lift. I arranged a ride to Rockford from mchenry ( an hour and 5 minute drive) but would not be able to go until Thursday morning so i called back for a THIRD time, spoke to the same woman, told her i would like to buy the two tires, i asked if she could set aside the two tires for me until Thursday morning and she said yes she could. I left at 8am Thursday morning and drove an hour to Rockford to have my tires dismounted, and the new tires installed, and balanced. Upon arrival i approached a gentleman who worked there and told him i had to tires on hold and was there to have them installed. After 15 minutes of him walking back and forth, talking to other men, getting the owner, i was told they didn't have any tires that size, and that they never did. I was given no apology, no offer to order new tires instead of the used tires i was there to get, nothing. All i got was a "i don't know what to tell you, she must have thought you needed a different size" if i wouldn't have made contact 3 separate times, if i wouldn't have gotten a ride and drove over an hour there it wouldn't have been that big of a deal. But it seems they were more worried about solidifying a customer instead of just telling me they didn't have the tires i needed. DO NOT recommend them, and if you must do business with them, go there first and verify they have what you need. Beyond displeased. read more

While passing through Rockford on the Interstate I got a flat in a run-flat tire. After spending 3 hours checking around at all the local tire shops (and Walmart) there were no run flat tires in my size available at any dealer in Rockford so I decided to get a conventional tire in order to continue my trip. The only new conventional tires in my size that were available were outrageously expansive and I was going to get rid of the tire when I got a replacement run-flat. So I got online and found Marvin's tire shop which seems to specialize in used tires. I called and he had one in my size. The shop is in a warehouse in the hood so it's a little daunting. There has to be 10,000 tires in the warehouse. Marvin knew right where to look, pulled the tire, and handed it off to his guys. His guys were like NASCAR - they had my car jacked up and the tire removed in 2 minutes, removed and mounted my replacement in another 5 minutes, the tire back on the car in another 2 minute, and it took me a minute to pay Marvin - so it took 10 minutes tops. Like I said, it's kind of daunting but don't be shy about trying Marvin's if you need an inexpensive tire in a hurry! read more

They over tighten my lugs n broke the bolt n said they couldn't change my tire. Making it look like it was my fault. That guy was tightened it instead of loosing it up. They didn't take fault. Be careful when you go. They don't do what they say most of the time. read more
