This is a place I will never return to. We came in for a kindergarten physical, and the entire visit took almost three hours. During that time, all they did was measure height and weight. Then another nurse came in, asked a few basic questions, and checked vision and hearing. The doctor spent maybe two minutes with us -- and that was the whole "exam." All of my child's vaccinations had already been completed in advance. All they needed to do was review the records and fill out the vaccination section of the paperwork, but they didn't do it. And the most frustrating part is that even after a full day, we still haven't received the doctor's report. They keep saying the doctor "hasn't finished her work yet." I paid for this visit out of pocket, and this level of service is absolutely unacceptable. read more

She gives not only great health care; she provides that trust and understanding that makes you feel like you have a doctor in the family. Been seeing her for over 25 years. Excellent care for our whole family for the past sixteen years. Dr. G and her rotation of student PA's are very thorough and caring. It may take a little longer, but it is worth it. Office staff can be hit or miss - be patient and kind - it is not easy to keep things personal. I'd rather wait on hold or get a call back then deal with some robotic system. read more

I have been doing my FNP Clinicals here since January and I absolutely love this Practice. She sees all ages, she is smart, personable and listens to her patients. There is no care, no doctoring. My husband and I both have been patients here but are looking for a new doctor. This praxis is a dumpster fire. You will have tests taken, never get results back. You will get prescriptions written, and never be able to fill them. There is a chart that gets updated when you go, not sure why, it is never looked at again. Oh, and any "appointment" you think you have...you will be in that office for at least 2 hours. Go anywhere else! read more

Avoid this practice at all costs! I understand doctor's offices can be busy and we all expect to wait, but there is absolutely no reason or excuse to run a practice in this way. It is chaos at all times, and you can expect wait for over an hour, if not longer, for your appointment, with no explanation, apology, or acknowledgment that your time is also valuable. I went to her for a USCIS physical. Pros: she knows what to do in terms of the process and paperwork. I needed a TDAP booster and she went the extra mile to have my insurance cover it. The lady doing the blood work was really nice (they needed a lot of blood for different tests) and tried to make it as painless as possible. Cons: the receptionist doesn't actually do anything when you call her to follow up to make sure the paperwork is done. She just seems uninterested. This office is a complete disaster. I requested a prior authorization 12 days ago and have spoke with them about it on 4 separate occasions...still nothing is done. And all it takes is a phone call to the insurance company! Not only have they not completed it, they haven't called me with any updates even though each time we speak they say that they will. I work in the medical field and I know how practices practice; this one is a mess and you are best off not stepping foot into their front door. It takes effort to finally ask a physician for help and then to go through this is a real disappointment. read more

I'm giving them 1 star due to the amount of stress they've caused me in a very simple transaction. I am requesting my medical records for personal use and since it must be sent by fax I followed up with a phone call to ensure that the fax did not get misplaced or lost (as there's sensitive information on it). After 4+ calls and 4+ voicemail left over the course of a month, I have yet to receive a respectful call that my request was or was not received. I cannot comprehend how a simple task, takes over 1 month to do (the task being: call me to tell me yes or no my request was received). It truly makes me wonder how they treat their current patients if this is how they treat you after. You might guess, I'm not a current patient. Updated: I should also state this provides no opinion of the doctor herself, only of the management and leadership of the office. My daughter aged out of our pediatric practice. We had heard good things about Dr. Gallagher. She got an appointment quickly, but trying to get her blood results and her prescription was the most frustrating experience we've ever had with a physician. She called for her blood work results and got no answer. We could never get a live person on the phone. She left multiple messages over the course of two weeks and when someone returned the call she was told not to call back, they would get to her. They left her hanging for days after telling her she had abnormal blood work results. They never did call in her prescription. I also called and asked for a call back twice. There was no return call. I am a first time mom and this was the first pediatrician we went to after my baby was born. My son is now 8 months old and after having switched practices, I cannot believe I put up with this place for so long. Dr. Gallagher has excellent bedside manner and comes across as very caring which is why we stuck with them for so long. It is a great feature that you can text the doctor and get a response in a reasonable amount of time. For the most part we were satisfied clinically with the care but this very much overshadowed by how poorly run the office is and until recently, how rude the staff was. Below are some of the things that we experienced while relying on this practice: At my sons three month check up they were out of vaccinations and it took nearly three weeks of me calling to follow up to see if they were restocked and finally get them administered so that he could start daycare on time. On one occasion, when my son was about 6 months old, I made a same day appointment due to him having a fever. I waited over one hour and when I poked my head in the back to politely let them know I was waiting for so long with a sick infant, I was very rudely reprimanded and told that they were all very busy. We ended up leaving without my son having been seen after waiting for 75 mins. It took over three months for my sons medical records to be sent to us for an insurance policy. I never received so much as a returned phone call to my voicemails requesting an update. At my sons six month appointment I was told that they were out of flu shots for his size and that "it would be okay because it is toward the end of flu season". That was in December and he now has the flu. Most recently my son had a fever of over 100 and I called and left a voicemail requesting a same day appointment and never received a phone call back. I finally got my request for his medical records fulfilled and found another practice that answered the phone quickly, was able to see us the same day and who ran very much on time. When I called to request my sons chart to switch practices I was told that they were working on "some changes" in 2019 which included some new support staff. I believe that they already removed the very rude front desk lady and the practitioner who brushed off the flu shot is also gone. Unfortunately, it was too little too late and I am so glad to have found another practice that offers better support. read more

I arrived early for 2 appointments, and had to wait approx. 1 hr. both times. They also rushed through my last appointment and Dr. G suggested I take a very powerful antibiotic that I felt was not appropriately prescribed. Lastly, I was told my x-ray results indicated a herniated disc. Great... except for the fact that x-rays don't show herniated discs. This is primarily the fault of the radiologist, but their office should have caught this. read more

Dr. Gallagher was our first child's pediatrician from birth to age 5. While she personally provided excellent care, her office has always had a rather disorganized and sometimes rude front desk. The final straw for me that caused us to switch doctors was how they would keep pushing stuff that wasn't at all appropriate coming from a family practice. Things like multi-level marketing for makeup products, weight loss treatments, things like that. A friend recommended Dr. Gallagher and said she was awesome. I agree, she is really nice, pragmatic, takes time to listen, and cares about her patients. I have had mixed luck with the front desk staff, some are nice, some are not. Sometimes I have had to wait a long time, others I haven't, but never more than 45-60m including time in a room. My only complaint is that they rarely get prescriptions right. I can't read their writing and then once the drugstore translates it, I realize something is wrong (wrong drug, wrong dosage, wrong number of refills, they wrote it for a 10g tube with 3 refills and I use that in two weeks, etc), and then when I get that fixed, it's slightly better but still not right. It's a total pain in the a$$. I guess I just have to get over my concern about appearing a little psycho and just bring a list with specific details about what I want. Don't go here...This is the first negative review I write ever for a business but enough is enough. My daughter has an immune desease. I gave this doctor all the documentation from NIH for them to be aware of everything she could have happened. The first potential issue would be low calcium. In November 2018 we did our yearly recommended routine blood test for her with this doctor. About 20 tubes of blood! She was 5 years old. I instructed them to send the results to NIH. They didn't. After a couple of week of hearing nothing I had a visit with them for myself. I asked them several times..." Are her blood test results ok? They said "yes, everything is great" I remember asking them several times since my daughter seemed a little down and tired. In April she had a seizure because they missed back in November that her calcium was almost half the normal. This seizure could have been avoided!!! She was in the hospital on critical condition for a week. A full week of IV calcium for a 5 years old because of a negligence. I found out about her low calcium, from back on November 2018 tests, because I called them I told them to fax the results to me, while I was at the hospital, without telling them what was going. That taught me never to trust doctors and get the results in writing. This critical and scary situation could have been totally avoided if they just paid attention, but they didn't. Low calcium is the first bad condition they get with this desease and they had it in writing from NIH. They just don't care. On top of this, they would answer the phone and put you on wait for a very long time, long time. Or even worst, they just wouldn't answer the phone. We obviously stopped going to this doctor after what happened to my little one and changed doctor for the 5 of us. I sent an email with them complaining and called them and no response at all. I forgot about it and I didn't want to put a bad review back then. To my surprise I received an invoice with January 2020 date for my son. My husband called them to let them know that we haven't been here since April 2019 (when my daughter had the seizure). They said they would take care of it. Well to my surprise again! we received two collections on the mail yesterday. Really? My husband and I both tried to reach someone on the phone today and no answer. Who knows if they will get back to us...Don't go here! They are very unorganized. It's a mess. And...you almost never see the Dr but the nurse practitioners. Find a different doctor. read more

It has taken 3 weeks to get a prescription refill. I tried 7 times and CVS tried 4 times. I find this to be highly unprofessional. The best was when I called several times within a few minutes and would be put into a voicemail. Then, called from a different phone and it was answered on the first ring. Shame. read more

Just updating my review - we've been with Dr G since our first son was born (2011). Had a year where we switched to Kaiser and I could not WAIT to get back to Dr G! The staff is helpful, you can always get in to be seen quickly, and we just love them. Our whole family goes to her now, not just the kids. We are all big fans! read more

Folks are nice here, but this is just a really unprofessional office. No one answers the phone (they've had the same "thanks for understanding our phone issues" message for over a year), and when you come in, the staff at the front desk won't even make eye contact as you try to figure out how to check in. Then wait for 45+ minutes for your appointment. One time, apparently another nurse had taken the room our nurse had prepped for my son, and when our nurse said something, Dr. Gallagher walked by and casually said "whatever, there are other rooms!" I appreciate a casual/kind atmosphere, but this was a great example of how not seriously they take professionalism and their patients' time. Stopped going after a couple visits. read more

Like the other reviews, no one ever answers the phone and the portal is useless. I have tried to reach the office through the portal and calling and no one ever answers or returns messages. At my most recent visit in Dec. 2020, the office was unprofessional and unkempt. Long wait time, missing chart, broken and old equipment, uninformed medical staff and I never actually saw the doctor despite having an appointment with her. My entire visit was with a "student" who did not inspire any confidence that she knew what she was doing. I have been a patient for almost 10 years and have finally had enough. read more

Stay away from this place. The office is run down, the waiting area is dusty and grimy with furniture that is falling apart. The NP was kind and knowledgeable but the receptionist is horribly rude and incompetent. They'll take days longer than stated to call you with test results and good luck to you if you think they can actually call in your prescription to the correct pharmacy (even when you write it on your intake form, specifically). That's on top of if they even call it in at all, despite them telling you that they have called it in. So, this place is a great place to go if you like wasting your time and money and enjoy being sick longer than you need to because the staff can't seem to obtain proper test results or manage to call in a prescription. read more

I absolutely love Dr. Gallagher. As a nurse myself, I really respect and love Dr. Gallagher's knowledge. She is the kind of doctor you really want on your side. When you come in and need her she will be with you and will do absolutely whatever she can do for you. That's the kind of doctor I want/ need. Her office was recently remodeled and I absolutely love her new couches/ chairs. She has two Nurse Practitioners who are great and very personable. You'll get great quality care from both of them. Being at Dr. Gallagher's so much better than being at a big impersonal practice like inova or Privia- I would really highly recommend. Blood draws are in house and are done with ease. I really love that you can come for physicals- have the whole family come, even have women's health things done like pap's. Also with the two NP's you can come late (like 6-7pm) on weekdays and I've heard they're considering weekends which is awesome. Sure, being at the doctor is no one's favorite but having a doctor who is really going to be there for you is the best thing you can do for your health I love Dr. G. read more

I've waited 3 years to write this review and 3 years later I'm still bothered by the treatment I received. I too was so happy to have found an office that appeared to be warm and welcoming. The reality is that my care was by large attended by the nurses (who were nice), when I was really there to be seen by the Dr. I believe my daughter saw Dr. Gallagher once and after the initial appointment, was never attended by her again. I would have been fine with the sub-care had something serious not happened. I got sick and went to been seen, again by the nurse. I explained my symptoms and was told that I had a virus. Well that virus was a staph infection that came with all kinds of scary symptoms. I didn't go to ER because I was told it would work itself out. 3 weeks later the nurse contacted me to tell me what my diagnosis was and was told that I had to be put on antibiotics, as this infection can be dangerous. By then I had suffered immensely. Even though this mistake was a horrible experience with fever, chills, body aches, shakes, you name it, I would've been willing to forgive and forget and give them another chance. What turned me off, was that when I called to talk to someone there, they circled the wagons and refused to take any kind of responsibility or apologize. They wouldn't even let me talk to Dr. Gallagher. Okay, so my daughter and I went somewhere else. This office does a good job maintaining the status quo, however, my concern is that if something goes wrong, you may end up completely on your own. That is why I learned my lesson and have become am extremely careful about whose hands I chose to put my health in. PS The front desk, depending on who you get, can be a wonderful experience or a snotty impersonal one. As I have not been there in 3 years, maybe that has changed, but just because certain people have all been blessed by great care, it doesn't mean that others have experienced the same. Dr. Gallagher is very pretty. I'm just gonna say it. Her eyes, brown hair, intelligence, etc. That's a big plus. Also all the nurses are drop dead gorgeous, too. Its like they swarm around some mother source of intelligence and beauty that they get their energy from- that being Gallagher herself. The nurses are all supposedly 45 yrs old but look in their early 20s... Anyways, about the medicine or whatever, Dr. Gallagher has a great bedside manner and is pretty damn intelligent if you ask me. You'll get a little nervous around her. However she's calming I don't really know how to explain it. The front desk lady is clearly overbooked because she is on the phone and unable to take walk in appointments. That is a down side. I waited 15 min for my appointment while waiting to talk to front desk lady who was on the phone, then someone else walked in and the front desk lady took her first instead of me, even though I had been waiting. That was frustrating. But the Dr. makes up for it. read more

This practice is staggeringly bad. I have never written a review before, but the unprofessional, rude, disinterested, and incompetent staff have pushed me to my limits. Staff turnover appears to be a weekly occurrence, the phone lines don't work ( seriously?) and the coding, billing, and compliance aspects of the practice appear dysfunctional. Not only have i left, I would urge all consumers to find another physician practice. Sadly, the practice miscoded a preventive care visit, failed to update my insurance, and erroneously sent my account to collections--so I still have the displeasure of dealing with them. read more

Once you wait an hour and are finally seen by Dr. Gallagher, she's a decent doctor. She does spend adequate time with you and she's very friendly. With that said, I've heard from friends and other former patients that she's pretty quick to write a prescription. Maybe she's just trying to rush you out? Who knows, either way, she lost my son as a patient due to her awful front desk staff. They are the rudest women I have ever experienced. Once I found a new doctor, I had to go by Dr. Gallagher's office and fill out release forms for them to send my son's medical records to the new doctor and they said it would be at least 2 weeks. I just transferred to a new GP because I could not tolerate Dr. Gallagher's services any longer. I've been going to her for a few years, and there was always atleast an hour wait time even though I was always on time. I assume she double or triple-books her patients to make more of a profit. The doctor is very friendly. That's wonderful, but I don't need her to pretend to be my best friend and pretend to remember details about my life. I need you to be my doctor. After a recent visit, I had a serious yes or no question regarding the dosage of a new prescription. I called her office three times within two weeks without a response. After my fourth call, I received a voicemail instructing me to make an appointment, even though I already had one scheduled within the next couple of weeks. I could not believe it. read more

I've been to this office many times, mostly because it's often the only place I can get a same-day appointment. There's a reason for that. Several people are really nice - Dr. Gallagher, Stephanie (another dr whose last name I can't recall), interns and the guy who draws blood - and they're all very informal and put you at ease. However the receptionist is so rude that a simple phone call to make an appointment is enough to make me never want to return. She hangs up abruptly, no goodbye. And you're on hold every time you call. I've been in the waiting room and have heard her gruffly put someone on hold to go back to another call and chat with someone about for a long time about vacation destinations - while a patient was waiting on hold! I've also seen other staff in exasperation - "I'm the only one back there who's actually working." The office was recently renovated and looks much nicer than before, which is a drastic improvement. However a pretty office just doesn't make up for the experience. I've had to hunt down test results every time I've had them, and having witnessed how the staff works (or doesn't), I'm not surprised. I really can't stand going there, and while I'm still trying to find a decent practice that's actually accepting new patients, I would rather go to an urgent care clinic when in need than this office. I gave two stars only because the actual interaction with the actual doctor isn't bad - but the rest of it really is. read more

I am appalled to see the remarks made here by another user. Never in my life have I received the care and compassion like I have here. The ladies at the front office are pleasant, personable, and always go out of their way for any question you may present. Not only does the nurse get to know you as a person, but she sits with you and digs deeper into your reason for visit to figure out what could be going on. I was complaining of a backache, and instead of sending me to physical therapy or an orthopedic, the nurse asked me to leave a urine sample, and it turns out the problem was a kidney infection all along. Dr.Gallagher spends an extended amount of time with you, talking to you like a person and not like a medical test object. To ice the cake, I received a phone call at 7pm on a Friday from the nurse to explain my blood work. If waiting to see the doctor bothers people, they should be happy they are alive and worry about the person who was seen first. read more

Dr G is laid back, direct, and incredibly supportive. She's knowledgable and as mom of 5, has seen it all! She is available for quick texts outside of business hours and went out of her way to meet us as new patients/parents on Saturday, as our son required jaundice follow-up after his birth. She does not encourage new moms to obsess and she's fun to talk to. Her staff are wonderful -- nurses love their jobs and it shows. They're smart, friendly, and gentle with babies. Front office are awesome and went above and beyond for annoying insurance snafu on our corp administrator's side. LOVE Dr G and encourage all new parents to get the no-BS approach to health care she offers. read more

Dr. G seems to be a pretty good doctor, however, her staff is BRUTAL. The receptionist are rude, and I am always waiting at least 30 minute in the waiting room, as they are always running behind. I have even booked the first appointment in the day and still waited 40 minutes. Also, I requested that medical records be faxed to my new doctor (after I moved out of the area), and this took over a month to do. I called three times the week of my appointment, and each time they stated that they would be faxed 'that day.' Finally, the morning of my appointment, I called and they said 'sorry, we are short staffed and will probably be able to get to it during lunch.' Not my problem that they are understaffed, or they can hire more people so it doesn't take a month to fax a few documents. I went to Dr. Gallagher for several years. She is intelligent, capable, and caring. Those things, however, don't make up for the fact that her office is a disorganized, demoralized mess which makes mistake after mistake. Communications are peremptory and record keeping is truly awful. I am not prepared to recommend a doctor's office that repeatedly makes mistakes with messages, prescriptions, and proper record keeping. Having an accurate baseline history is crucial to adequate care: it is not a trivial detail. This is basic to the medical profession and should not be tolerated by the doctor as it creates serious risks for patient health and safety. Don't go to Dr. Gallagher, no matter how nice you think she is. read more
