This store is one of Burbank's hidden treasures. Not only does this shop have a huge inventory of vintage lunchboxes but a lot of vintage toys, action figures, and collectibles that are hard to find online. If you are into horror and such this is definitely a spot you would like. There are a variety of items to purchase here. Some are more run of the mill mass produced items like candles, purses, slippers, books and such. While other items were clearly thrifted and one of a kind or vintage. Very neat to have that kind of a variety. For example you can get a $20 skill candle or a $400 old operating table. See what I mean? It's definitely a great store to browse around. I easily spent 20 minutes just looking between their three rooms. The reason I did dock one star though is that while it was fun to browse, it's not necessarily my kind of merch. To each their own. Even more so I did find some of the prices to be a little high, maybe it's just me. One example I could give was I found a pretty simple necklace with a bat and heart that I've literally seen a hundred times over at Claire's. That necklace easily is about $7 or so, but here they were selling it for $35. I get they need to make a profit but the quality wasn't there and it was giving child's costume jewelry at a more expensive price. Surely they need to make the rent and knowing that a lot of people who come in are more so "just looking around" it makes sense prices need to be adjusted. A final positive to end on a good note is that the staff are absolutely lovely here. There were multiple staff working which I appreciated. Everyone was very very nice and welcoming. I love their passion for this store and enthusiasm. Nice people work here and I'm glad there is a store like this around for those who can truly appreciate what it has to offer.

They are always shifting the merch around to make the shop even more appealing, and something always seems to be on sale. As of right now, every Thursday from 1 to 6pm, almost everything in the shop is half price. And such pretty, inviting windows!

Okay, I've had some time to chill out and I think I can more eloquently express my issue with this…read moreplace, and why I will never, ever go back. First, they claim this is a boutique, yet I've found more fast fashion here than anything else, including old Forever 21. The clothing is not curated whatsoever, or really even organized more than the basic long sleeves together, pants together, etc. Boutiques curate their clothing, display and merchandise it, and usually pay for their clothing (though not in all cases). This place is a small thrift store, but filled with women from a local church who give church ladies the reputation we all know about. Judgy, holier-than-thou, etc. I was here when they got a large donation - yes, donation - from the Johnny Carson Estate, including a ton of his wife's clothing. The pieces were vintage and in great shape, and all designer. That's awesome, good for them! Why did they fill the store with only those items, and attempt to sell them at the highest possible point in the range of their retail value? Because typically their clothing is actually pretty reasonable, this was a super surprise to myself and MULTIPLE other people in the store, all of whom were commenting on it. When I asked what was going on and if someone had lost their mind pricing items in a thrift store at $2k plus, a woman who didn't work there started attempting to belittle me for 'not knowing fabric' and not knowing the value of things. Lady, I worked in a wardrobe department for years, and resell high end vintage clothing. Further, even if I didn't, who on earth speaks to a stranger that way, and especially in a thrift store? Belittling people for not having money or knowing designer clothing is bad enough, but doing so in a store that is supposed to be for those people to be able to cloth themselves is just plain disgusting behavior. The woman in question was absolutely friends with all the women working there, and I already know that birds of a feather, so I won't be coming back to this place as I don't want to ever support women who behave like this. When I called the woman out for her behavior, she denied it, then said 'this conversation is over' because that's what narcissists do when they can't defend their actions. That woman was a disgusting jerk, and she gives that place a bad name - a name I believe it deserves, unfortunately. Avoid if possible!

I have always liked going inside the older buildings in Old Downtown Tujunga. Desiree is great especially as she told us she grew up locally and knows many of our Tujunga Sunland businesses and friends. There are items of all sort: all nicely organized in the 2 rooms and a foyer. My husband found some pieces to add to his new projects. I found a wood painting of a pastoral scene that looks just like Wisconsin to place in my windowless office. Very reasonable. There are all sorts of art pieces, furniture, glassware, porcelain, wood figures, household items, tools, containers, shelf units, frames, mirrors, ladders (one I would love to put my epiphyllum plants on one of these days), books, and pottery. I was thrilled to find a perfect Stanley thermos. Being a 1950s girl I grew up carrying a real glass lined thermos to events and school. I love having one of these babies to keep water or coffee in my car on my commute too. Desiree will check out estate sales and look for items you may want. I just love being in a community where we can walk to all sorts of businesses and meet up with owners. I definitely plan on being back often. For now Desiree is keeping the shop open on Fridays and Saturdays. Parking on the streets around the shop is super easy.

He said he's descended from Spanish and Italian, so his last name is Tigere, means Tiger. He's really friendly and chatty about the over 100 countries he's been to, the culture and the conversation spans to rocks of all forms including dinosaurs poops and crocodile teeth. It was very interesting and time flies talking to him. The rocks in the store prices 30,40,50+ bucks but there's no pressure from buying. The store covers old comics to rocks of all forms to small cultural artifacts of all kinds. It's worth spending time there but I felt like without Mr Tiger telling you the stories and explanations, it's a lot less interesting. He said he's there into the nights, so the ideal time to visit is probably late afternoon into the evening.
