With that, despite my skepticism I forged ahead. When I walked in at first I was put off, as this is in no way a Dobbs Ferry high end spa, but desperation has its motivation. Arrived mid-morning without an appointment. This was risky as other patrons were already there, though luckily space was still available. My massage area, not a separate room, had enough privacy where I felt comfortable. During my session, realization kicked in noting that bells and whistles were not needed nor were they missed. My masseuse, Amy did the necessary and got to work getting those kinks out of my back. The full body massage that followed from head to toe, with a bit of stretching was an added bonus. A few notes for those of you expecting certain things with your foot massage: -There are no blackout curtains so you will be able to see into the parking lot, if that impacts your experience. -The employees speak to each other in regular level decibels while giving treatment - in other words, this is not a "quiet" place. -I paid for a one hour foot massage which started at 4:30PM. They finished at 5:24 with six minutes left on my clock. If you are expecting a full hour, you might not get it, just be aware. -I tipped 30% because my therapist was great with the pressure on her knuckles, and focused on my feet the whole time (as opposed to other places which will do 20 minutes on each leg/foot, 20 on your shoulders etc.) - The therapist was NOT happy with a 30% tip and made a face as if she was expecting more. I had no other cash on me, but the face she made was a bit off-putting. Still, I would go back based on the cleanliness, the quality of work, and the proximity to home. In the first session, I felt intense pain and expressed it to the technician. I was told the pain is normal in the beginning of the process and with consistency the pain will subside. However, that was not the case. I completed 6 sessions and the pain continued. I was then told it is due to the scarred tissue from having 2 c-sections which the owner was aware of from my consultation with her. I requested an alternate package but was told by the owner that she has a no exchange policy but she will spread out my sessions to monthly. I did not agree to this and asked to just get merchandise (full body shapewear and a heat cream; total value $170) instead and to cancel my remaining 4 sessions which equal the value of $500 ($125 per session). She wouldn't accommodate that either, so I decided to take the loss since she also stated she had a no refund policy as well and requested that my information be discarded as I will not be returning. I am disappointed in how unaccommodating the owner is with her clients as she is the one making recommendations for them. The owner gives the impression that she cares more about money than her clients, extremely unprofessional. Don't waste your time or money!

I was expected to put my personal belongings in a basket sitting on the floor. The AC unit was extremely loud and worked almost too well. My massage table was directly underneath it, and I was freezing for much of the appointment. The environment itself also didn't feel particularly serene or luxurious. There was no real comforting spa scent, and the entire experience felt very conveyor-belt-ish rather than personal or relaxing. The ginger shampoo was another surprise. It creates a very noticeable hot/spicy sensation on the scalp, and I was completely caught off guard by it because there was no warning beforehand. And this is where my disappointment is especially strong: I'm a new mom. I don't get many opportunities to step away and do something for myself right now. When I finally do, I need that time and money to feel worthwhile.
