We struck a deal with him for ad hoc service, because nothing grows in the dry months of summer. However, we had a "no-call, no-show" during the rainy season when he had told us multiple weeks in a row that he would come by. When he finally showed up weeks later, he decided to charge us TWICE for overgrowth. Had he shown up the first time he said he would, that would not have happened. It seems he decided our business was no longer worth his time, so he decided to extract the most cash he could from us before we moved on. Guadalupe and his crew were very prompt with answering my call for help. I've learned with time that most contractors are terrible communicators; Guadalupe and Casa Verde proved to be an exception to the rule rather than the norm. He updated me each day on the progress of the project and showed up on time each day. He and his crew cleaned up every day as well. As the project sort of evolved , he was very very very accommodating towards my limited budget. He worked with what I was able to spend and even went above and beyond by planting new plants in our planters and setting up automatic watering for us. They also added stepping stones to the lawn and made everything mesh and look really good together. He also redid the drains from the planter (a previous contractor didn't do a good job with that so Guadalupe went ahead and fixed it on his own volition.) it felt like he ultimately prioritized getting a good job done over making as much money as possible. I called Casa Grande to get some landscaping done on account I haven't been able to do and the rain…read moredid a number on the property. I expected some quality of service on account it was my first time working with them and having a 1st time charge of $250 and continuing $70 monthly service. They came and knocked everything out in less than half a hour and the work was not good at all from my standards according to the amount. We talked and agreed to meet in a few days to fix the problem. The issue came when my tenant saw the work and knowing that I haven't been able to do the usual work myself, took it up on himself to do the work, and to my surprise did a way better job than the 3 men that do this for a living. I called the owner to talk about what happened, explaining I didn't mind paying something but not the full amount because I was gonna refund my tenant for the work. Their response was for me to pay what I thought was fair. That surprised me because I expected a professional call from the owner and to hash it out, maybe saying pay this low amount, we'll go next month and prove to you what our service is but that's not what happened. So I responded with that the amount I will pay is the $70 of the monthly maintenance fee because I intended to reward my tenant instead. Their respond was: "We can't argue because we don't know exactly how it was left since we weren't there and we had already agreed to be there tomorrow. It's actually the first time we had this issue. Thats fine don't pay anything. Have a good day!" Not a response I expected from a landscaping company trying to grow relationships. I'm disappointed and definitely hope future clients don't run into this issue. Also hope they learn from their mistakes of dealing with clients and making them feel like they are in the wrong in some way. Photos and screenshots are added. The last 2 photos are how my tenant cleaned it all up, which was what I expected from Casa Grande in the first place.
