My refrigerator broke the day before Easter. No lights, not running. In a panic, we started looking on line for a repair service. Contacted a few, most would come out on Monday. Finally found DnD appliance repair and got them on the phone. Someone could be there between 1 and 4pm. 4pm rolls around and the phone rings, " We are running behind, can we come out between 5 and 8?" Tech shows up around 8. Pulls out the fridge and tells me that the circuit board is shot. I had heard about this same problem from a relative that owns the same model refrigerator, so it seemed likely. Note - there is a fuse on the board that failed, this fuse is soldered into the board so you can't remove it. Thanks LG! you have to replace the whole board. He tells me to give him a $400.00 "deposit" which coincidentally, matches the total cost of the repair. I know, how dumb could I be. So I write the check. He hands me a sheet and asks me to fill in my address and phone number. I notice at the top, it has "Appliance Repair Co." written on it. At the time, it didn't register that something may be wrong. . Before he leaves, he jumps the fuse and gets the fridge running. I ask him how long I can stay like that and he tells me that it will be ok for two weeks. He the calls his office, and finds out that they can get the part and be back by the following Thursday to install it. would between 5 and 8 be ok? Sure. After he leaves, I look up their number on Google only to find that they have an "F" rating with the Better Business Bureau. 71 people, now 72, have had their money taken and no repair or a poor repair was done. Thursday comes and he doesn't show up. I call their number and get Lynn, the owners wife, and she tells me the part hasn't come in. Can they come back on the following Tuesday? Sure . I call them Tuesday morning and Lynn assures me the part is one the truck and they will be there to install it between 5 an 7. I get a call at 7 telling me they are running late and they will be there between 8 and 10. Again a no show. I call them and they ask if they can come out on the10th (Wednesday) between 5 and 7. Another last minute call to say they will be there between 8 and 10. Surprise!, they didn't come out. Now I am pissed, so I call and get their answering machine. I leave a nasty message telling them I am filing a complaint with the States Attorney's office and the better business bureau. I get a call back at 7am the next morning. Lynn is apologizing and tells me they will be there that evening, the 11th, between 5 and 7. They are also giving me $50 back on the cost of the repair bill. 7 o'clock comes and goes and , you guessed it, they do not show up. I call them and get Lynn again, this time I am showing more of my anger and ask her what kind of charade she is trying to pull. She seems surprised that someone would question their integrity and assures me that he will be there in 20 to 30 minutes. Now, there are three people in the house and we have a dog. I mention this because my phone rang around 10 pm. I recognized the number as Lynn trying to contact me again. I had had enough so I let it go to voice mail. The message told me the tech was at our front door and knocked trying to get someone to answer. Now, as I mentioned, we have a dog, she reacts whenever someone comes up the driveway, let alone knocks on the door. We never heard him. The next morning, I listen to the voicemail. Lynn is telling me the part is on the front step. I go out an look and there it is, wrapped in bubble wrap. Good thing since it rained during the night. There is also a note from the tech telling me that his cell phone is broken and cannot make outgoing calls. I take the part out of the bubble wrap and notice that something doesn't look right. The board looks used. Everything that should be standing up straight is bent over. It looks like someone intentionally abused it. I call Lynn and tell her about this. She claims she knows nothing and will have the tech contact me. How he is going to do that with a broken cell phone is anyone's guess. At this point I am done. Lynn calls on Saturday, the 13th, to find out when they can come out and install the used part they left on my porch step. read more

This is the worst repair company EVER!!! Do not use this company!!!!! They no-showed 3 times with no call to cancel. This place is such a scam. They over charge and didn't even fix the problem. We called for them to come back to re-fix the washer and try never showed up. read more

AWFUL!!! DO NOT USE - URGENT - PASADENA AREA - DO NOT USE! 2012... These people have RIPPED ME OFF 100%! Charged me for a service, gave me a 3-6 day window and now approaching 30 days i have not gotten a call from the owner or manager WHEN i have called multiple times EACH DAY. They told me the apologized and would be there to install on 10/26/12 between 1PM - 5PM. 10/26/12 - I took off an entire day of work.. I waited patiently all day long.. at 5:52PM they called to tell me the part had not come in on the truck that MORNING. When asked why she didnt call sooner to allow me to go to work, she had no answer.. She said she was sorry and she was booked up until the following Monday 10/29 between 5PM - 7PM after i insisted i wouldnt take another day off work! 10/29/12 - I arrived home around 4PM and waited. Calling their number just rang and rang. I had a bad feeling and i was right.. NO CALL , NO SHOW!! They again didn't show. 10/30 & 10/31 im giving them benefit of the doubt because there was Hurricane Sandy on the east coast.. 11/1/12 - STILL NO CALL!! I called livid to speak to same old receptionist that i always got. I let her know i wanted to speak to a Manager or the owner RIGHT AWAY. I was told he wasn't available.. so i left my number and explained i needed to have a call returned.. She agreed.. 11/2/12 - NO CALL FROM MANAGER - He wasnt available to speak to me. 11/3/12 - NO CALL FROM MANAGER - He wasn't available to speak to me. 11/4/12- NO CALL FROM MANAGER - He wasnt available to speak to me again... Receptionist offered to setup a new appointment for me incase manager called.. I Agreed for a window 5-7pm on monday 11/5/12 - WITH THE AGREEMENT manager would call me on 11/5/12 in the AM. She stated multiple notes and calls were left for him. 11/5/12 - I called at 9 & 10AM and was told he was coming in late... he would be in by noon and call me right away. I called again at noon with no answer. I called again at 2PM and was told - He left already... He was " suppose to call me ". 5PM - i am still calling with NO RESPONSE, NO ANSWER from management. I Called the service tech, receptionist etc. I myself run a small business an would NEVER EVER treat people this way. In addition when the company came out orginally i told them i had to first clear this with American Home shield for reimbursement.. its a new house i just bought. Do NOT call this company for service! We paid them $209.00 to repair our refrigerator but despite following all instructions about not running the refrigerator for 24 hours, leaving freezer drawer open, etc., the part failed w/in a week. The invoice guarantees, in bold face, that "All work has a 90 day labor warranty and 90 day parts warranty." I've "scheduled" two follow up appointments, but I use the term loosely because no one showed and no one called to say they were not coming. That was total seven hours of waiting for no shows. The company does not return my phone calls. They have even ignored two requests from Kitchenaid to call me. (I got the company's name on the Kitchenaid site and, as a result, assumed they would be reliable.) The owner of this company is David Mansel. His company has undergone several name changes, including the following: In Home Appliance Repair, Maryland Appliance Repair Co. and now Appliance Repair Co. The business address for all three names is 171 Mountain Rd., Pasadena, MD. They go under different names: MARYLAND REFRIGERATOR REPAIR SERVICE or APPLIANCE REPAIR CO, they have a white box truck with a major dent on the front of the driver side, leasing tag MD1 8640. Hi everyone, do not, I repeat do not use this company, They came late when i called them to repair my washer on Dec 12, 2012, then they told me it was the pump so they said they could get the part and needed a $300. deposit, cashed the check that evening, already cleared my account by the next morning. They told me the part would be in by Monday Dec 17, and they would be out Tueday the Dec. 18, waited no one called me so i called they said it had not come in but it would be in Wednesday Dec 19, so I said ok then no one called me, so I called them they said someone would be out that afternoon, no one showed up. called again they said they would see where the repair guys were. no one called me back, called backed then was informed that three pumps came in and all were cracked, so they said they would order it and have it overnighted, must be coming from Siberia, LOL. so they scheduled to come on Friday no show, then suppose to come on Saturday Dec 22 , no show, I will be at there place of business on Monday Dec 24 and will be there everday till I get my $300 back. Also anyone else who has had this problem with this LOVELY company please post your complaint on every site you can, also please contact me, we can press charges against them and sue. DO NOT - I REPEAT DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. THEY SCAM YOU! They checked my washing machine, left it taken apart, and told me (with a 17% discount) it could cost 438.00 for a Bad Motor Control. I had to give them a 300.00 deposit and they would come back in a couple days with the part. Took off work for repair, never showed. I called 3 times and no one would call me back. Finally, I called Sears - they came out and all that was wrong was a quarter was stuck in the pump. Machine works fine - I'm out my money but going to small claims court next. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They came to look at our dishwasher on 10/3/12. Said it would cost $209 to fix and needed the money up front. After 2 weeks of not hearing from them, we called to set up an appt. They did not show. We set up 2 other appts. and no one ever came. We called demanding our money back everyday for 2 weeks. The woman continually put us on hold and would then hang up. My husband would call back but no one would answer the phone. After threatening to file a complaint with the Attorney General, we received a check for $134. They said they were charging us $75 to come out and look at the dishwasher. read more
