Introduction to why I was here:…read more About to wrap up the 2nd of the two 2024 runner-ups now with C is for Carbody Collison Center, in alphabet series and will be getting to 2025 picks + runner-ups simultaneously. In October 2023 while on 495 on near the PG/Montgomery County border, hundreds of motorcyclists were causing chaos and very slow traffic on that Sunday gathering on the side blocking lane and lane splitting between the slow cars. This was insane and incredibly annoying. One of the motorcyclists rammed into my car while lane-splitting. He flipped his motorcycle. He picked up his motorcycle stumbled off to the side, and I tried to get the heck out of there as I didn't want to risk my safety with this awful motorcycle gang. Once I got to where I was going about 45 minutes later, I saw the damage, which wasn't horrible, but it wasn't just some minor nick. Visits here: That next day or two, I shopped around a bit in Laurel & North Laurel, and Carbody Collison had a better rate than the others. Also, Bob was kind and empathic to what happened. It wasn't urgent, but it could become a problem more so in winter because of snow/road salting as bottom part had to be replaced. I wanted to wait to see if insurance would go through, but they refused to cover it. Ultimately, that January 2024 we started the process, but it was going to take some time to get the part needed and would take them some time to do all the repairs. We agreed I'd drop the car off when I was going out of town; I rideshared to BWI airport. A week later I got back to town. Although they had agreed on finishing by then, there was something that was delayed even though we had agreed I come back that Friday afternoon, which I took a rideshare to get from my place to there, which isn't that far. Bob was nice enough to at least let me use a loaner car as I had a couple of other things I was doing, drove home, and then came back in the late afternoon. There was a bit of a tiff over windshield wipers they had replaced, which I thought was going to be cheaper, which I said I didn't agree to that much. He didn't want to continue to too much arguing and credited for either free or nominal price. I drove off to Columbia where I was going that evening. As I was driving back on MD-32 at US 1, I heard a loud noise like something was scrapping on the road. I got off at the next exit and went to the Savage MARC train station parking garage to see what was going on. I saw the piece hanging down. I snapped back in place, which got me home. But then the next day, I went down again, I stopped at a place in Laurel that I knew was open on Saturday. They did a temporary fix to get me through the weekend. I revisited on Monday, explained what happened. Bob apologized seeing what was going on; some screw was missing. He quickly got the staff to put back in while I waited there. In summary, Bob was overall nice & empathic except for a bit of heated discussion over price of an unrelated windshield wiper. I liked the price relative to other places (although I still didn't like as it wasn't cheap). They did a good job overall, but the missing bolt issue was annoying. They did a good job on timelines, but still a bit off on that, but at least got the loaner car for that afternoon as they were wrapping stuff up. This was mostly positive, and while there were some negatives, Bob did do a good job alleviating the negatives.

But I think the car parts they used are for an older car model, my car looks lopsided. I was hit on the top right corner, there's a small gap between the door to the front, and it's not the same on the left side door. There is also a part on the left side that sticks out a bit.

I dropped my car off and was given a rental. They took care of all the negotiations with the insurance company and kept me informed the whole way. They gave me a repair estimate of $17,335.18 on October 15, which seemed reasonable, and I assumed work was being done. For over two months, I waited with no updates. Suddenly, on December 5, they emailed demanding the loaner back immediately and threatened a police report for "failure to return a rental vehicle." I called their rep (Alfonso), who said he would extend the loaner--he never followed up. That evening, the loaner was remotely disabled (Valet Mode) while I was driving, stranding me overnight in 20°F snowy/rainy weather on a busy DC street. I had to pay for towing myself to avoid freezing. The next morning (December 6), they called police (Rockville and Prince George's County), claiming I failed to return the rental. They also told officers my Florida license was "fake" or fraudulent. Police cleared me immediately. I repeatedly explained my disabilities (immune-compromised, OCD, ADHD, anxiety) and asked for accommodations to get my medication and belongings from the loaner (less than ¼ mile away at a friend's house). They refused and left me stranded without transportation or meds ever since. Now they demand over $14,000 in storage/rental fees--almost as much as the repair estimate--yet no work was ever done on my car. I have video, emails, bills, and records. This was unsafe, unprofessional, and unacceptable. Avoid if you value safety and clear communication.

The shop was on my insurance list of approved repair shops and it was the one with the highest rankings on Yelp and Google. I decided to take it in for an estimate and was pleased with the initial experience. I was told by customers that also had their car repaired that I would be happy and could trust the shop. I was initially disappointed with the turn around time and later found out that the shop had a lot of cars to repair during the time my car was being fixed. The car was returned in perfect condition and I would definitely use them again. The manager was especially helpful and was the primary reason why the overall experience was so pleasant

I would say the damage was slightly above minor. Using the other driver insurance all state I brought the car to caliber collision. Initial I brought the car here to get damage assessed, then I schedule a day to drop off the car, and then you wait for them to repair the car. The communication for updates was really poor here. I drop the car off on 11/18 and then it was just silence. I called on 11/25 about a week later to check on the progress of the repair and learned that parts needed to be ordered and got an estimated finished date. The funny thing is about 30 minutes after I made the call I received a text about updated completion time and that " repair is coming around nicely". Like if I never made the call to check in would caliber collusion ever updated me?? In my opinion when the mechanics finish their initial assessment of the damage the car owner should be updated asap about the plan such if parts needed be ordered or not and the estimated completion date. So, communication was very sup-par. My completion date got pushed back by 3 days. After 3 weeks I went to pick up the car, the repaired was very satisfactory and they even clean the interior a bit which was cool. All in all, an ok experience.

The Maryland Collision Center was recommended to me, and I could not be happier with the outcome. Together with the insurance company, they coordinated pickup and drop-off my rental. They matched the paint (no easy task) and assured that all the mirror technology worked flawlessly. They were very communicative and easy to work with. Austin was especially helpful and accommodating. You never really know what will happen in some repair shops, but this was a really great experience.

The rocker panel was bowing off of my car's body when they first pulled it out of the service station, so they pulled it back in to fix it. Next I discovered that the driver's side seatbelt was completely was missing, so they had to put that back in. Then I get down the road and notice a whistling sound coming from my passenger side door's window, so I turn around and take it back to the repair shop. They "fix" it, and I finally get to go home. At home I notice that the passenger side door is so crooked that it doesn't line up with rear passenger side window, and there is a rubber piece missing from my passenger side fender. I also discovered that the front bumper was not properly sanded before the painted it, and that they put the beat up license plate holder back on after painting the bumper, as opposed to a new one. I contact the shop, and they say that they will order the piece and call me to bring it in to fix it and the door. They never called, so I called the guy I was working with to get my car fixed, but he never returned my call. I got so frustrated that I decided to take my car to another repair shop. Once there, they discovered that MD Collision Center used a bumper screw to mount my passenger side window unit into place, not the correct size screw for the job. These guys are amateurs at best. You should not have to repeatedly return your car to the shop to get it repaired. They should do it correctly the first time. I only used them because they were approved by my auto insurance company. Do not bring your vehicle to these crooks. They are not professionals, and do not give a damn about the quality of their work. You are just a paycheck to them. You have been warned.
