Maryland Fried Chicken makes really good fried chicken. They also offer fried catfish, fried chicken livers and gizzards, buffalo wings, and a good assortment of sides. I only tried the chicken, fried okra, and mashed potatoes with gravy, and they were all very tasty. The restaurant was full and the line was long, but the staff in the front and the back of the restaurant were working really hard to serve food in a timely manner. I was starving so I just needed a place to check out and eat before I return back to work. So I decided on this place and I'm glad I did. One of the first things I noticed was that there is a picture of the owner on the wall right next to Chef Art Smith. For those of you who don't know, Chef Smith has two or three different restaurants around the central Florida area and they're all famous for chicken so I already had an idea that the chicken had to be extremely good. The lady realized that I was from the school district, and hooked me up explaining the menu to me. I had a few pieces of chicken and it was absolutely delicious. I ate it before I left the restaurant. Fried crispy golden, seasoning was on point and all. Counter person was not helpful but I did order three-piece white meat with potato salad and mashed potatoes and it was the takeout so when I got home I did not have my side orders. The chicken is flavored a bit more savory and usually fried crisp. I noticed other reviewers complaining about the chicken, but i never seem to have a problem. What sets this place apart is the sweet southern white lady that is usually there. I don't know her name, but she is a pro. This location had the best fried okra in town. We eat it as a side dish and as a replacement for croutons on salads. We also really like their chicken livers. We eat them as our meat dish and sometimes put them over field greens with a balsamic dressing. Angel, the owner is very nice. So is the rest of her team. read more

- I gave it (2) stars because the cashier did her best to correct the cooks mistakes. Every since the original cook left my food has either been soggy or too hard. It's always luke warm or cold. The cold slaw has so much sugar it can be counted as desert. Liver was my favorite dish, always but the last few times it's been cooked so hard it's literally like beach sand in my mouth. - The cooks are always out back smoking an dirty as hell. It was absolutely the worst chicken let alone food ive ever been served. So salty i could not finish it. I ordred the 3 piece meal. I was a single chicken breast cut in two and a winglet loke leather. The gizzards were almost$7 for a half pint and there were only 2 whole gizards in the hole thing. The rest were bits the size of an M&M or natter balls with no gizzard inside. Also so salty i could not rat them. 3npiece meal, 1 side of gizzards and a drink cost $25 and some change. But I realized that they were calling out different types of orders than mine so I let it go. Then came out the orders similar to mine. I watched people who came in after me get their similar order. I finally asked if there was a problem with my order. Blank look until I showed my receipt. The girl working the front then too my receipt to the back and then the argument began. Most nights I work late and I call in my order sometimes 9:45 and they close and 10pm and they are just as friendly as if I were to come when they first open in the morning most companies don't even want to take your order 15 minutes before clothes, the rude and your food taste like crap this place they take care of their customers and for us regular people that go there all the time they make you feel like family but they probably make everybody feel like family I'm just speaking for myself I would highly recommend this Maryland fried Chicken at first I did not like it because Forrest city Road in Edgewater was number one for 30 years of my life I'm still missing the white macaroni and cheese but you know what this place I didn't come the first year that they open because I didn't like it but something happened something changed and now they're starting to be just like the Maryland fried Chicken over there read more
