It's located towards the edge of the main downtown Pleasanton strip. Parking was easy both times. I really like this place because Rob truly understands your hair. Like the nuances of my hair and how my hair was going to stick up at a certain length or how my hair at different parts of my head would look with certain type of cuts, etc. He walked me through the options. He has a great attention to detail which I really like. He also he's really friendly and easy to work with. The whole experience was great for me. I don't think I have complex hair, but you would be surprised at how many places I feel don't really get my head, haha. As a matter of fact, my profile picture with my niece at Disneyland was right after I got a haircut from Rob. I think the first time I came here I took over my brother's appointment and the second time I was going to be in town so I called and made an appointment for myself. It's pretty easy as long as he has availability. The only tough part is how long I'm gonna be in town and then I have to plan for that lol. I highly recommend.

I usually request a medium to low skin fade with a trim on the top when I get there so I thought that I would be okay. Lady completely ignored my request and ended up doing a very high fade with little hair remaining on the top. I explained to her nicely what she did wrong and she just laughed it off. Not even a sorry. I called back after I left to express my concerns, they offered to fix it, but with the attached pictures, how could it be fixed? The only way it could be fixed was shaving it off. To the woman who wrote that review about the parking spot. That was an awful lot to type but to summarize, you parked in the Mary's Barbershop Only parking spot? Maybe next time don't park there like all of the other Sunolians who take kids to school? I've passed that spot several times out of respect to our only barber and her customers. By you parking there, I wonder where Mary and/or her customers had to park? If you were a caring member of the community, you'd think that you'd respect the businesses that have opened and are trying to open here? ****UPDATE*** Since the person edited their review, I'll edit mine too. Mary is a fantastic addition to Sunol. Have had hair cut there many times and she's extremely pleasant, the shop is immaculate, and she does a great job overall. Appears someone is bullying her over a parking spot below. Mary had one single parking spot that everyone respects but one person chose to park there and was called out on it, and is now posting one star reviews all over the place. Their initial review was removed by Yelp because it violated their TOS so it appears she has re-written the review to make it appear like she's more of a customer and not someone mad about parking in the wrong spot. Unfortunate. Mary is beloved in Sunol and a world class barber. Would highly recommend. 5 stars! read more

I've been coming here since Mary opened. It's fantastic and never would have thought there would be a full service barber in Sunol. Mary is very methodical in cutting my hair and even my wife commented how well it looked. One of her services I really enjoy is a shave. I travel a lot so I seek out a shave in whatever state or country I'm in, for me it's a fun experience. As you might imagine, I've had good and bad. Mary does an excellent hot towel shave and ranks very high in my experiences. Mary's barbershop is a hidden gem! read more

Regarding Michele A's review, I was in the barbershop when you called to harass her for you missing your son's appointment. You made the mistake on missed appointment date (again) and have been late for appointments in the past. Blaming others for your errors is extremely unfair. The only thing worse than a 'Karen' is a racist 'Karen'. You should be ashamed of yourself. read more
