Probably our top meal in London. Before I talk about the food, I want to highlight excellent…read moreservice. One of our group has a tomato allergy and we weren't sure how much of a selection he would have. The waitress went back and redlined the menu to show what he could have, what he couldn't, and what they might be able to alter. Super nice and it didn't take more than a few minutes. As for the food, a-maz-ing Indian. I recommend their prawn special - not too spicy but very flavor forward. The naan was a nice side to order as well. This location is fairly big with seating on the main floor, downstairs, and outside in a cover lounge area. We had a reservation, although they probably could have handled us if we didn't. That said, it was a busy weekend and the place looked fairly full by the time we left, so maybe grab a reservation. Enjoy!

My dining companion ordered a margarita that came straight up with a smoky paprika, sort of rim. I ordered the Mojito. They make their own Mojito mix and it was exceptional. Just a little hint of mint, but the excellent drink. Our bartender did not steer us wrong. We sat outside and ordered the okra appetizer, tikka masala, lamb chops and naan. Our wait staff said we were ordering a very small amount of food. I thought it should be enough, as we had a large lunch. She was kind of insistent, but maybe she was just trying to be helpful. The fried okra was amazing. It was like french fries but with okra. There's just a hint of spice very very crunchy and delicious. The rest of our meal came. I really should have asked about the spice level, but I did not. The menu didn't say my dish was spicy, but it was far too spicy for me. Since our wait staff did not come back to check on us there was not much I could do. However, I did flagged down another waiter and asked for some raita. This helped but I don't like the burn so I was pretty much done eating at that point. My sister's lamb chops were very tasty but overcooked for my preference. But we weren't asked how she wanted her lamb chops so there you go. I bet this is a phenomenal restaurant if you like a high level of heat. And maybe on a night when they weren't so busy and the wait staff stretched so thin. I will say I thought the cocktails were exceptional. And our bartender was great. I would really give it a 2.5 but there are no half star so I'm rounding up

Vegetarian dishes were only average. Sambhar was terrible. The quantity of Kuthu Porotta they serve is humungous. I just couldn't imagine a normal person being able to finish it. They serve it with eggs, chicken or lamb. I tried the chicken version. It was pretty good. Curries are okay. Not the best. Price is generally on the moderate side. Drinkers might love this place though. Spicy food and drinks go very well together.

I went on a Friday evening to get a takeway. It took 20 minutes to take my order, then over an hour to actually get it, despite being continually told it would be 5-10 minutes. I don't have a problem with any restaurant being busy, but I do have a problem with their dishonesty. If it was going to take a while, they should have let me decide whether it was worth the wait, not string me along. After the wait, the food was below average for me. What was supposed to be a dish with string hoppers (a regional speciality sort of soft ride-noodle cake), turned out to have had the string hoppers finely chopped into the main dish a la a Biryani. As someone who has spent months in Sri Lanka, this was completely new. It wasn't described as such on the menu either. As dish it didn't work. Overall it was underspiced and basically pretty dull. A friend who I bumped into there on that evening had much more successful masala Dhosas though, hence the extra star in my review.
