We were happy when we found a table here on Thursday night after checking with a few other restaurants on the mountain. Everywhere were fully booked. Our host was very nice and friendly and deserved the stars. However the food was really sub par. We order a salad, a burger, a steak frites, a chicken bowl and a daily special roast chicken. The chicken was an overcooked leg, then cut in half to count as two pieces. The steak was blue red rare and we had to send it back to kitchen. I think the salad was the best out of all the meals. If you just want to have a sit down dinner after a day in the mountain, this place has seats, but don't set any expectations on food. read more

We sat down at the bar as the female bartender chatted with two local patrons sitting right next to us. She didn't even acknowledge us. The other bartender had his back to the bar chatting on a phone. The woman then walked down the bar and half a dozen staff whooped it up without a second thought about customers. After 10 minutes of being ignored we got up and left. On the way out I told this group of staff that their job was to serve customers not chat with each other. Extremely unprofessional. We crossed over to Bottoms and it was crowded, unlike the empty Masa's, but service was prompt, courteous and excellent. Masa's needs better management of the children who work there! read more

We had a group of 10. Lunch menu is quite nice. Good variety to choose. Service was slow - but, as everywhere - there are NO staff anymore ! The server did her best, and was certainly on the ball and friendly. Food was very good. Slow to come, but again, not enough staff. My only complaint is that the food was cool, not cold, but not hot ! As I get older, I get more fussy. I have come here for many , many meals over the years, and over all I give it a 2 thumbs up. We came here for our first meal in Sun Peaks. We were running late and it was off season so we lucked out being the last customers of the night (Thank you!) - that said, we were not made to feel in the least awkward or rushed. The staff, which amounted basically to the bartender and one wait staff, were very friendly and welcoming. They even let us purchase some drinks from their fridge to take back to our hotel as the town was basically closed by the time we finished eating. I got the falafel wrap and my friend got a burger. The falafel was the best I have ever had IN LIFE. Take it from me that I know my falafel; I've been enjoying it for over 30 years and have had it made by every kind of person from every nation. Often it is too heavy - but Masa's makes it in a smaller disc and you get a better proportion of the filling and the fried outside. YUM! There is definitely a ski lodge feel about the place. The decor is ski gear and you can readily picture the spacious interior filled with skiers and their gear. Be forewarned that in off season places here close when they want - it's just part of it, nothing to get butt hurt about. Enjoy the vibe. read more

Masa's is located at the base on Sun Peaks. On a sunny afternoon, it's a great location for après ski. It's also family friendly- offering a good kids menu of standard fare including fish and chips, grilled cheese and hot dogs. The highlight for us was the extensive list of beers on tap. After a day on the slopes, it was nice to sit and enjoy snacks and beers. Poutine was made with thick cut fries and a generous amount of gravy, yum! Service was friendly but slow even though the establishment wasn't very busy. Given the options, I would recommend this pub, especially if you can get a window seat like we did. read more

Masa's is a decent bar and grill--we stopped in for a late lunch after skiing all morning. Our server was terrific; drinks and food good. I had calamari which was lightly battered and fried to perfection, but was incongruously paired with a pasty tzatziki sauce. I ended up finishing the crispy morsels with catsup. A sweet-chili sauce would be ideal for this dish, in my opinion. Anyway, this is a fairly spacious establishment that even promises live music on occasion. Pretty fun! read more

My wife & I were here 09/09/18 as part of a Canadian tour. I like the "pub" atmosphere and we decided to dine here. Started with some nice cold beer, hit the spot. Ordered the special, a brisket open faced sandwich and the Poutine. The food was absolutely terrible, Poutine was a pile of French fries with gravy and a teaspoon of cheese on top. Not even one star if I could. Awful. Terrible service, terrible cocktails (watered down), awful food - I wouldn't feed to my dog. Ordered the pork bun - microwaved for sure, and the fried cod - looked like it was fried all night, unbeatable and stunk. Ended up paying the full bill for something I didn't even eat. The olives and asparagus in the Caesar were moulded. 2 drinks and 2 appys $45!! Outrageous. Stay clear of this place. Overpriced. Overcooked. Made most caféterias seem like fine dining experiences. Ate here two years ago and again today (2014 Dec 21). Nothing like it use to be. To be honest we arrived at noon - a very busy moment as all the skiers came in. However the service level from the kitchen was so bad even the waitress was complaining to us. First off the kitchen lost our order. The waitress resolved it before we complained. But as she said: the kitchen staff claimed the only just got our order. Not true as we were waiting for 45 minutes after we gave the order. Then the food... First the good. Ok, our son ordered macaroni and cheese. He loved it, but it ain't hard to screw up. My wife got her chilli which was pretty good. Now the crap. I had the $16 fish and chips. Would have rather had a Filet-o-fish at McDonald's. For an order that the waitress said would be freshly made, well it wasn't. The fish batter was overcooked and the fries obviously had been overcooked and sat under a heat lamp for a few hours. Tough, dry, and brittle. At least the beer washed the grit that was passed off food away. read more

It was some frozen crud - meat was tasteless and grey, and overall bad. Also had the Masa's famous beef dip sandwich - meat was tough, and our friend said the au jus tasted like dishwater!! Or just salted walter - no flavoring at all. Our other friends shared the Bistro burger with cheese - again, the burger itself had the consistency of rubber - frozen, no appeal, no flavor. The salad Florentine -- spinach salad with bacon bits, 2 poached eggs (that was weird!), they said it was pecans - but it was plain old walnuts, and cranberries. There was no dressing, but some flavorless sauce on the bottom - I asked for the bottle of malt vinegar to add flavor. Overall, a disappointing experience and one we do not recommend. read more

The WINGS! Definitely some of the meatiest wings I've had. The flavors are pretty good with the house sauce being a mixture of honey garlic, hot sauce, and lemon and pepper rub. The pork belly starter is okay, with the mustard emulsion being the highlight. The onion rings are pretty good, with an interesting dipping sauce in sambal mayo. Kinda feel ketchup would have sufficed. And if you come between 4-6pm, it's 2 for 1 starters/snacks. So definitely would go back during those times. read more

Tried to eat and play pool last week. Pooltable covered with a pice of wood in hallway. As soon as you walk into the restaurant you don't feel really welcome. We still ended up and ordered some wings and the pork belly from the happy hour menu. Don't, and please don't order the wings or the prom belly. You only can get one flavor (fish sauce) for the wings and the porkbelly bun was definitely not steamed. More like microwaved. Very busy spot at bottom of the main hill at Sun Peaks. Expect long waits at lunch time. I haven't had a problem just sitting at the bar whenever I wanted. Beer is cheap and the food is decent. My wife had a vegetarian salad and I had a thai cod wrap with french fries. Basic bar food- I should have known better than to order curry with Jasmine rice. The curry itself was ok. The rice was hard- either from being undercooked or from being left out all day. My husband had a lamb burger and said it was ok. My son had wings that were overlooked. My daughter had the best meal- a burger. It was actually the best dinner of all. Well, where do I start? Masa's was once a great place and a lot of fun but now it seems as though it's just a huge inconvenience to serve their customers. I went in for lunch with myself and 6 kids age 12. (Daughters birthday.) We were skiing so the kids just wanted something quick to eat. 4 of the kids ordered Mac and Cheese which was seriously just Kraft Dinner (Kraft Mac & Cheese for my American friends) one ordered a grilled cheese sandwich which was a hamburger bun with the cheese on the outside??? Gross! They others had chicken fingers and fries. (Can't mess that up) I had the Masa burger and couldn't eat it. It absolutely tasted like cardboard. The patty was grey and smelled funny. This meal cost me $115.00 before any tip. (For Mac and Cheese??) brutal place. Hopefully they can get back to what they once had. read more

I had the minestrone with a house salad. The minestrone was fine, nothing special, tasted premade. The house salad was delicious and the warm pretzel roll was a pleasant surprise. My dad had the dry ribs from the appetizer menu and they were pretty good! They were kind of like a pork version of a wing. They were deep fried which was obvi a plus and they had a hint of chili sauce that was perfect for my taste. I feel like this place is hit or miss. They should focus on what they do well and get rid of premade soups. read more

The patio at Masa's is fantastic. The perfect place to sit on a hot sunny day after a few laps in the bike park or on the golf course. Unfortunately, the food and service can be hit or miss. Great location gone to waste. The food and service have gone downhill and the prices have gone up. Masa's seems to be trying to be something between a family restaurant and a beer hall and can't do both. Better food at Cahilty Creek and Bottoms and both have more atmosphere. It's such a shame since this is definately a prime spot. The management needs to do something different here. If you are looking for burger and fries, its the best place that is open year-round. It has a nice outdoor seating area that is usually open during the summer season and when its not busy, one is able to seat oneself wherever you want. Wait staff is really good and attentive. read more

This place is awful. We come to sun peaks once a year and have never eaten at Masa's before so we thought we'd give it a try. The service was very subpar and the place was completely dead. The food was not good and the drinks were very average. Needless to say we were very unimpressed due to the fact that we spent 75$ on 2 Caesars and 2 flat breads...
