However, the process of obtaining a quote was indeed as easy as Zen Windows website makes it out to be; check out their website and watch the videos. I completed their form with the number of windows, approximate size and the requirement that the windows must meet a minimum efficiency. A reply was quick and thorough and above all easily understood and answers to questions were immediate. Dennis provided all the information needed should a permit have been required. Once accepted, Kevin came out within a few days to take specific measurements needed for ordering the windows. Within just over a month, we received a call asking if the installation could take place within 48 hours as they had an opening. Ed, Jimmy and Daryl were the installation crew who arrived promptly and you could not ask for a more conscientious and professional team. They seemed to get along and worked well with each other. Care was taken to protect floors and carpet, the installation and operation of the windows was explained, and clean up was meticulous. I had planned to shampoo my carpets after they were finished and Daryl did such a good job of cleaning up the floors I did not have to vacuum first! We had 6 windows replaced and opted for the Endure EN600 series double hung, Energy Star Certified windows. These windows were installed on a warm day in rooms that get the afternoon sun and it was immediately apparent that the sun gain was much lower than the previous windows. The wind is gusting today and there are no drafts! The total cost was a bit above some of the other estimates but after our previous experiences as well as the ease of the ordering process, the personable and professional installers- much less the quality of the windows- it has been well worth it.

Avoid this company!! In 2020 they improperly replaced the roof of my single-story ranch home,…read moreviolating code and our contract. They only installed one of two required layers of underlayment, which does not meet code for a 3/12 slope roof. They did not install any ice & water shield at the eaves, though it was bullet pointed in our written contract. On May 11, 2025, I had a different company replace my hail-damaged roof and they discovered American's errors under the shingles. As a result of American's substandard installation I had to pay out of pocket to replace 16 pieces of plywood. I contacted American that day to notify them of their code and contract violations and the resulting damage. Despite multiple calls to them and my offer to send them photos of their own work and our contract, they have not offered a resolution, or taken the time to call me back in almost 4 weeks with any information. I requested a refund for the materials that were not used at installation which I certainly paid for and for the damaged wood from their office manager who dismissed my report and has not returned any of my following calls. As for their 5-year Workmanship Guarantee, they have not honored it. They have not taken responsibility for their poor and unsafe work. Do NOT trust them with your home! The canned response from American seen below is inaccurate. I spoke with Tausha, their office manager at length on May 12, as well as two other employees on 5/12/25 and 5/16/25 and have phone records to demonstrate this. Casey Arnold, the owner, stood out from the start. He was personable and easy to work with, and his bid was not only the most competitive of the three but also by far the most detailed. Where the other estimates were vague, Casey's spelled out specifics like post depth, the amount of concrete used, the type of fasteners, and hand-picked lumber. That level of transparency gave me real confidence going into the project. Casey and his crew showed up on time and worked with genuine care throughout -- both tearing out the old fence and installing the new one. They were mindful of my landscaping as well as my neighbor's, and nothing was damaged in the process. The finished fence looks fantastic -- the top line is perfectly level from end to end, which really shows the attention to detail that went into it. The whole job was also completed on schedule. If you're looking for a local, small business that combines fair pricing with real craftsmanship and professionalism, I'd recommend Select Fencing without hesitation.

I let it go at the time, but in hindsight it reflects a lack of attention to detail on the initial installation. I wish I had paid closer attention at the time of install. While the fence looked great at first, multiple issues have come up within six months. There are nails protruding through several areas, some boards were never properly attached, and both gates have repeatedly failed to function correctly--we often have to force them open just to get in and out of the yard. A wooden topper has also come loose and is now flapping in the wind. To their credit, they did respond to my initial concerns, but new problems continue to surface. Taken together, this raises concerns about the overall quality and durability of the work. I would recommend thoroughly inspecting the installation before considering the job complete.

As noted in my original review, the work was done well, and I am now satisfied with both the repairs and the resolution. ******** I wish this were a more positive review, but I would not recommend Kirkwood Fence. Our salesperson estimated that our fence repair would take 4-8 hours. He explained that the company subcontracts repair work and books labor in half-day or full-day blocks, at $750 or $1,500 respectively. Based on his estimate of the scope of work, I agreed to a full day of labor. The written estimate sent later that day initially overstated the cost by about $600, which was later corrected and approved. On the day of the repair, the crew arrived on time but had been given incomplete information and brought only half of the required materials. They were able to return to the shop, pick up the remaining parts, and complete the repair by lunchtime. Once work began, the repair itself took just over two hours. Despite this, I was charged for a full day of labor. I tried to discuss my concern with the owner, but was referred back to the salesperson, who indicated that no adjustment was possible. The repair work itself was well done and the installation team was great, but my experience with the company left me feeling I'd been suckered.

Great job overall and very pleased with the quality of the (1) 3-panel sliding glass door with interior blinds as well as the (2) double hung bathroom window I purchased and had installed by Masonry & Glass Systems. I contacted them originally about an old (circa 1951) glass block window I wanted removed and replaced with a double-hung frosted glass window. I assumed since they installed new glass block they would know how to remove old glass block without damaging the surrounding bathroom tile work and brick exterior--I was right! Harrison was very professional and knowledgeable about this type of replacement so I also had him provide an estimate for the equally old metal sliding door and glass panels from the den to the outside patio. While the initial estimate was expensive when including the option of having blinds between the glass (yet compared with other's estimates--not that different), he sought out another option for me from a door manufacturer that was offering blinds included at a special price and was of equal quality---that sealed the deal for me! The two person installation team arrived on time and in the same day completed both removal and install work. Again, as promised there was no damage to the interior or exterior, the install team was professional, and cleaned up every scrap of debris from the removal and installation (this was the most efficient and thorough installation I have had in the past 4 years and I have had lots of work done on 'this old house'!). Most importantly, the new products are wonderful--I find myself just staring at them in amazement that these replacements make such a difference to both rooms and to my house overall! I would definitely use this company again and highly recommend them. read more

I explained to Harrison that I wanted be use the least expensive materials on the windows I wanted installed. He kept trying to upsell and was practically demanding in what materials I should use. When I told him I wouldn't be using 'low E' panes he started arguing with me. Actually arguing! He pointed to my neighbors windows and said, See, they have them! The majority of the time he spent talking to me he was obviously annoyed that I wasn't opting for the mitered corners or all the other bells and whistles. He was querulous when I insisted on what I wanted. His quote came in at 52 hundred. I called Penny Window and had a MUCH better experience with the owner who LISTENED to what I wanted. I added one more window to the order and total cost was 41 hundred. read more

Harrison was wonderfully accomodating of our schedule and the windows are great. Very good quality and much more affordable than Anderson. We used Masonry and Block when we replaced basement windows with block and did a portion of the old aluminum windows a year and a half ago and they were every bit as fast and efficient this time as last.. Brian and his young apprentice removed installed and cleaned up from the install in about 5 hours for eight windows this time. I recommend them any time. read more

Everyone around us was going Vinyl and because of that, we were dragging our feet and wanted something different. We just didn't know what. We told SRS and that's when they introduced us to James Hardie Board. We were able to pick out beautiful baked in colors that coordinated and blended everything together, especially with our unique roof. It turned out incredible. It gave us that 'New Home Buyer' feeling that we had back in '86. Our difference stands out in the neighborhood now as quality and appeal. We get lots of compliments from people passing by. Be Cautious: Mother/Daughter Widow/Single, Siding replacement & Storm damage from Tree Fall…read more Left construction debris & nails in yard & driveway despite multiple requests to magnet sweep & clean their work area. 12ft pallets also left in the driveway. Poor communication & coordination between Evan's & skilled labor on site. Site supervisor was MIA for start of work. Homeowner had to modify work schedule to answer questions from skilled labor while Evan's site supervisor wasn't available & relay messages & site issues to Evan's.. Skilled laborers consistently expressed concern about materials not being available for tasks & left job unfinished. Work completed by site supervisor who didn't install per manufacturer's instructions & Evan's would not correct. They didn't abide by the contract which included & was quoted for replacement of broken wood from tree falling on roof in storm. Evan's repaired broken & splintered wood by either splicing or leaving broken pieces in place & nailing to 2x4s underneath. Structural, but not what was agreed upon in writing. Despite homeowner real-time feedback & suggestions daily during installation based on knowledge gained at an installation workshop hosted by the siding manufacturer AND the manufacturer corroborating the homeowner's feedback post installation after being invited to inspect by Evan's, Evan's STILL didn't correct all installation issues. They only repaired the most extreme issues, but the majority were left in place. They stated they'd been doing this for 30 years implying there was no way there was an issue & despite their policy stating to just call if there is an issue. If the siding manufacturer tells you there's an issue, I think it's an issue! Opinion: Obviously issues are not their concern from the way this job was mishandled & my concerns were disregarded from day one. Evan's removed back doorstep & didn't replace it. Original step still laying in the middle of the yard. Disconnected A/C unit without notice & left for the day, multiple instances. Rewired air conditioning unit incorrectly, throwing/sparking breakers. Broke internet fiber, required AT&T to repair. Despite all the above, payment was cashed within hours of receipt. Opinion: Apparently someone in the company prioritizes and has availability for what they need despite their claims to be customer-focused.
