He took the time to hand select bricks for best color and is even color matching the mortar to match our older home's existing mortar. It is hard to find specialists like Zach, who replaces cracked or broken bricks on your home's exterior walls, hearth or chimney. I'd recommend calling him. Don't let that cracked brick let water in your home, get Zach to fix it for you!

Well, I have never had as much difficulty trying to give a company business as I have with this one. I guess when you're big enough you can afford to be arrogant. I will never refer or use this company regardless of how many 5-star reviews they have. Customer service is EVERYTHING in real estate. This company clearly flunked that class.

There was brown liquid spilled on the cabinets and floors, paint spilled on the floors, stairs & countertops, outlet covers missing (still not found), painter's tape still stuck to the walls & baseboards, and sunflower seeds littered across EVERY single floor in the house (including the in the carpet and the bathtub). I am shocked at the way the house was left and how sloppy this was. This was not the condition that it was supposed to be left in. I had a showing the next morning so had to spend over 3 hours cleaning it. I contacted the manager about it and received a $275 discount. They did offer to come back over and "take care of these items" but I had no time to let them come back so I had to take care of it myself. For how much I paid to for this to be done I expected way more from this company. I will not be using this company again.

He told my husband when I got back. He would put it on my phone, I've waited six weeks and I'm done waiting.

Josh who provided the initial estimate made good recommendation regarding paint sheen for the different surface types, and asked several questions about things I had not even thought of such as front and back colors for doors.. While we were only using three colors, due to the different sheens for concrete walls, wallboard, and door trim, we ended up with 7 different paints. Scheduling was easy and they helped accommodate our availability. When the painters came in to do the work they were friendly, knowledgeable and took the time to understand which paints were to be used where. They did an excellent job; multiple coats of paint for rooms that went from dark gray to a neutral taupe and caulked the floorboards where necessary and filled in scrapes and picture holes where we needed it. I would highly recommend Singletrack team. Professional, articulate, and very knowledgeable on what was needed for the job. and the total price was very competitive with the other 5 bids I got.

As an owner of a real estate company, I've worked with thousands of contractors from plumbers to landscapers and can attest to the amazing job that Bill and George offer with Masonry Restoration! One of the most frustrating parts of improving or fixing your home is poor communication with said contractor. Bill was amazing! He answered the phone on the first call and came to see our stucco home (built 1924 so filled with cracks) the next day. He was early for our appointment and walked me around the home, explaining exactly what he could and could not do well for us. He wrote up a proposal on the spot and explained the cost in detail. He was honest about their time-frame, which was about 6 weeks out. Five weeks later, I received multiple calls confirming the time and date they would show up - they showed up on time and got to work! The work was very well done and they cleaned up after themselves. They fixed brick and stucco on our home. VERY refreshing to work with honest people with good work ethic and wonderful communication skills. I would recommend again and again! read more

George and his crew were great. He is very concerned with aesthetics and returned after the job was completed to do more blending on the interior brick tuckpointing - also on the first day he didn't like the match in one of the rooms and had his guys redo it before I even saw it. He is very honest and thorough. They ended up needing to replace more bricks than he estimated, but honored the original quote and completed the extra work that was needed. One of his guys used the wrong tape on my interior wall and damaged the paint - George immediately asked if I had the paint for him to fix it or would prefer he take it out of the bill. He went out of his way to be sure I was satisfied and came by after I got back from work each day to do the walk through with me. We'd go over what was done and he would point out things he didn't like and would have them go back over. Really great experience overall. Things like the damaged paint happen during jobs like this, but George was professional in addressing it and makes sure the completed project is something he is proud of. read more

WOW!! I cannot say enough wonderful things about Bill, George and the entire Restoration team! We had some stucco work on our porch that needed to be repaired. Within hours Bill was at the house to give us a quote. He was honest, quick and fair. When they started the demolition process they noticed there were some structural issues with our porch. With the house being built in 1909 we were worried that we would have problems in the future if we didn't fix it now. Bill was amazing with giving us options, kept us updated on price and always set realistic expectations with the timeline. Bill and George were able to match the existing brick on our house and built a beautiful new brick/concrete porch! The entire time they were professional, friendly and honest. I would like to HIGHLY recommend Masonry Restoration. They completely built the entire front porch of our 77-year-old Tudor house, with a flagstone top to match our flagstone steps, Before Masonry Restoration had stepped in, the bricks were crumbling and the entire porch was sagging. We weren't sure that the porch would make it through another winter! It was apparent from the beginning that Bill and George take pride in their work, experts in their field, and employ quality people that were extremely dedicated and hard working, working 10 hour days, 6 days a week, They not only rebuilt our porch, but also tuckpointed other areas of our house and garage, in approximately 7 days, at a very fair price. In addition, they also repainted our porch railings, that were extremely faded, to the original black color, which is something that we had not asked them to do, but they were very thoughtful to take care of it for us! There are many choices you have when you need brick work done. But when you house was built 80 years ago (like our Park Hill Bungalow) the materials were different than they are today. A lot different. Bill is an expert, and he understands that those differences matter both to the way he does the job, and ultimately to the way the work turns out. Bill is a craftsman, not just a brick repair guy, he loves what he does and that shows. He also displayed great integrity and professionalism during our interactions. Bill is old school and makes no apologies about it. If you're looking for a slick business, with a pretty office, and lots of different folks to talk to Bill might not be for you. But if you want good results, from an honest man who loves his craft and is not afraid to write up your receipt covered from head to toe in brick dust, then call him. He's the best. read more

Masonry Restoration did an awesome job tuckpointing my home. My home is 100+ years old and built of stone. Other estimates I received did not take into account a special technique used with the mortar 100 years ago. I didn't even notice it, but George pointed it out to me and how he would restore the mortar to its original style. He did such a great job that it's difficult to pick out where the repairs and restoration were done. I also liked that he did not give me a quote on the spot but was thoughtful and emailed it to me later. He was in the midrange of estimates that I received but no one else proposed adding the special labor-intensive, rolled technique as a part of the bid. We have used Masonry Restoration on two jobs within the last year. Building a new brick wall surrounding our Balastrade on our patio and Stucco work on our patio. The brick wall was expecially difficult as Bill had to consider how to protect the integrity of the wall from water. His solution was most creative and effective. The workmanship in both cases was exceptional and reminded me of the type of work done by masters. We have a 2 color brick home (yellow on the top and red on the bottom) that had a very large (10 ft) patio door that did not function well. We replaced the patio door with a wall and a 5 ft window. We also had a regular door that we replaced with a window above and a wall below. Obviously there was a lot of brick infill that was required. They also did a lot of repair work where the house was settling. The work Masonry Restoration did was beautiful and you can almost not tell that it is infill and not the original construction. We had some damage to a small section of our walkway on the side of the house which caused some water to come into our basement we needed the walkway repaired immediately. I called several masonries and Bill called me back and came to give me a quote the next day. He and his son-in-law came out and repaired the area and the walkway looks amazing. I have a 97 year old brick, bungalow in the north Washington Park area. After almost 100 years it was looking a bit sad and neglected. My poor house had crumbling bricks, cracks and missing mortar. Going into this home improvement project, I have to tell you that I wa a bit leary. In my neighborhood I have seen so many horrible brick repair jobs, that I feel they should have just stuccoed their house. So he explained the situation, explained what they would do, and gave me a bid for $1,500 - $2,500 to correctly backfill the entire length of the back of my porch/house. The reason there was a window, is because they wouldn't know until they started filling the voids, how much fill they would need. (They carry enough on their truck to do little jobs and huge jobs.) I thought AAA wouldn't get to me for about 3 weeks, but they had a cancellation for today (it's been less than 2 weeks), and asked if they could come out tomorrow. Sure! Trevor and his team arrived at about 8am and drilled the holes all along the length of the back of the house (every few feet), through the concrete. Then they used the hose to pipe the stuff into the west-most hole. As soon as they could see it making its way to the next hole over, they would stop that hole, and go onto the next. They did this with all 16 holes. In the end it took about 4 yards to fill every void on the north side of my house (where the cement patio is.) Then they got to work filling the tops of the holes to make it flush with the patio, and carefully using a sponge soaked in water, wiped around the top, to clear away any debris around the hole's "plug." They used their power washer to clean up the whole patio, and also any fill that got on the driveway/street. (They used a shovel first to get up what they could that way.) Whole job took 3 men 3 hours, and I was charged $2,320, which I thought was low for the many feet over which they had to backfill. Overall, I think it looks great, and I feel confident now that we've done what we could to prevent my patio from sinking down further. Thanks Trevor and guys!
