And I called one other company for a second bid. David showed up in time for our appointment, and his explanation of the problem (80 year old mortar in our brick house was falling out). The previous owner had gotten some of it repaired. That mortar was failing, too. I was particularly concerned because one pillar that carries a heavy load was cracked so badly (see photo) that you could see daylight through it from top to bottom. David explained why it had failed, and how the repair work someone had done years ago made matters worse. His bid that was about the same price as the other firm, but his explanation -- and the bid itself -- were so clear that D. Masonry was my obvious choice. He provided me with proof of insurance, too, a request the other company ignored. They lived up to my high expectations. Watching them work, I realized that tuck pointing is a highly skilled craft, practically an art form. They took the time to mix and try a range of mortar colors. With their help, we selected the one they advised. Now that the new mortar has completely dried, I can see it is a perfect color match. The pillar I was so nervous about? They elaborately jacked up and stabilized things, so they could remove the pillar, which they disassembled completely, laying out all the bricks (with all the old mortar removed), so they could put them back exactly as they were, only sturdy now, and good as new. Masonry repairs -- done well -- simply disappear when the work is done, right? As long as I own this house, my gratitude for this job-well-done will live on.

He took the time to hand select bricks for best color and is even color matching the mortar to match our older home's existing mortar. It is hard to find specialists like Zach, who replaces cracked or broken bricks on your home's exterior walls, hearth or chimney. I'd recommend calling him. Don't let that cracked brick let water in your home, get Zach to fix it for you!

When he fertilized my lawn, instead of applying fertilizer only to the grass, he drove the fertilizer spreader all over my new concrete walkways, leaving dozens of ugly rust stains everywhere. I have spent hundreds of dollars on power washing and other attempts to resolve it and such attempts have made the problem worse, so I now have rust + discoloration all over my walkways, which is a major eyesore. It will cost me many thousands of dollars to fix this problem that Dan caused, since I will need to rip out and reinstall 3 new concrete pathways and a giant patio. Dan's response was extremely disappointing, he did not take responsibility and there was 0 concern or effort to fix the problem. I would caution against using Dan if you want someone who is thoughtful and careful on your property. I hope this review will ensure this doesn't happen to anyone else.

I had Augustin and his crew do a new driveway, walkway around the side of our house and a new rear patio. Every time he said they would be there they showed up at the time we were told. His entire crew worked very hard and did a wonderful job. I got everything I asked for and couldn't be happier. They even came back after they had finished on Memorial day to wash off our siding where some concrete had splashed on it when being poured. These guys are great. Don't even bother looking elsewhere. I have done concrete work since the 70's. Agustin did a 23 yard pour for me last Saturday that blew me away. He is a knowledgeable artist at excavating and preparing the area for concrete. The day of the pour he brought in 5 of the best concrete finishers to do the job I have ever seen. Such professionalism one doesn't find anymore. His price was so good I could not say no. My only regret is that all the other concrete I have around here needs to be torn up and redone to match the quality of what Agustin can do. Spectacular man I must say. Wish I had known him before and had him and his crew for all the others jobs I have done around here. read more

Updated review. Agustin answered my phone call and quoted over the phone. I asked if he want to check the job site first. Three days later he showed up to measure the job site. After a few phone calls and texts later, he showed up 2 weeks later and get the job done in 1.5 days! His price is very competitive and was highly recommended by my friends. He used bars and mesh for the driveway, garage and even the side yard. He guaranteed his work for a year which I doubt I will have any problem (judging from the way he worked). He was able to complete the work within the week and even came back and covered it at night due to weather. After it was taken over by weeds and dug up by our schnauzer a few too many times, it was time to do it right. Cody came out for an estimate and design consultation. He is such a great guy who explains how it all works, gives you a reasonable number of options (helpful for me to not have information overload), and gets things moving. And for the work itself, these guys work hard and nonstop when the job begins. They show up on time and work full speed from morning until evening to get the job done. They build the patios in ways that work for Colorado weather, and they actually specialize in pavers, instead of a landscape company that doesn't do these types of patios nonstop. Paver patios are not cheap, but they're also not something you should do on your own unless you absolutely know what you're doing. If you're looking at redoing your outdoor space or patio, you should absolutely give these guys a look.

Our assigned project manager, Jeremy, was friendly and very professional, had insurance and license info ready at hand when asked, produced a reasonable quote, and did great follow up. The work crew, Freddy and Rigo, were absolutely fabulous.... Neatly and properly dressed, super courtesy while quietly working with the least amount of noise possible, never yelling or blasting music or slamming things around, and they were industrious throughout the day despite the 100 degree heat. These guys were very respectful of the property, demonstrated attention to detail in their work: measuring twice, using levels to make the wall perfect, were careful when moving equipment and product, and when using tools/machinery. They also cleaned up the job site... cleaner than when they first arrived! They didn't damage any plants, and left not a trace of their presence. With other companies and contractors, I have found water bottle caps, candy wrappers, cigarette butts, trampled flowers, bark kicked out on sidewalks, manufacturer stickers/labels laying around from products used or installed, nails or stains left on various surfaces; but this crew of Little Guy Pavers was just the opposite, and just excellent!
