So maybe I missed some memo, but I wandered in here the day before valentines day hoping to maybe, well you guessed it buy some flowers. There were beautiful flowers everywhere throughout the store and arrangements scattered about. I located whom I assume was the owner and asked if I could buy some flowers. "I don't have anything flowers ready," he replied. I looked around, looked into the cooler full of flowers and just thought, WTF?!?! "What do you mean you don't have flowers?" I shook my head and probably fairly rudely laughed as I turned to make my way out, I did hear "sorry", but what the hell? You are a florist, with a shop full of flowers and you won't take yourself away from your lunch for a moment to help some one get some flowers quick? I realize he might have needed more time to arrange something "beautiful", but a) I'm patient and could have waited or returned and b) needed some flowers for my girlfriend on a beautiful February afternoon and would have taken tulips in news paper. ie not being picky... Maybe I'll return another time, but WTF? Dissapointment. Hate giving a one star, but given the little effort it took to say two sentences and not help me out I'm doing it anyways. read more

I ordered flowers for my wife for our 3rd anniversary. I usually use the Empty Vase, but since they were closed, I called Mason's on my sister's recommendation. I called on a Saturday and requested a white and green scheme with same-day delivery. Jerry made a great choice, they were very well priced, and they were much prettier flowers than I expected. I love Mason's! they are beautiful flowers and I feel like you always get a really good bang for your buck! He can normally deliver day of if you call in advance but I would try and give him a bit of notice if you can. He ask for a color scheme, tall or short and if your budget includes delivery or if you are ok paying over your budget for that. First time user--found Mason's on Yelp! and they were very helpful. I called early on the day I wanted the flowers delivered, left a message and received a call back around 9:30 or so. We settled on a budget of what I wanted to spend, tacked on the $10 delivery fee, and walla---I have a very happy recipient of a terrific arrangement by 2:30 the same afternoon. Jerry Mason is the most talented floral designer around! He gives his customers great value for their money as well. I have used him for several years now and wouldn't consider using anyone else. He has done charity galas and large parties for me and has always done such beautiful work. You need to give him some notice, especially around holidays because he is usually very busy. I usually call him as soon as I have a date for an event. I line him up even before I find a venue! He most recently did a large New Year's Eve party for me and his arrangements were absolutely stunning! I have also used him to send flowers to friends for various occasions and have always received rave reviews. You will never have to worry about how your flowers will look. They were friendly, and very helpful, and assured me they would get my flowers delivered to my wife in time. WOW! My wife just sent me a very appreciative message, along with a photo of the flowers. I have driven by Mason's on Fairview a hundred times but never stopped. The day before Thanksgiving I found myself in need of an arrangement to take to my mother's house, so I decided to give Mason's a try. Jerry was getting ready to close shop to make his deliveries, but when I told him what I needed, he offered to come back to his shop and create an arrangement for me after he finished his deliveries. Good to his word, he called me about 2 hours later to let me know my flowers were ready to pick up, and man, were they BEAUTIFUL! I have used Empty Vase, River Oaks Plant House, and just about everyone else in town, but next time I need flowers, there is absolutely no doubt I will return to Mason's Flowers. Beautiful, beautiful flowers and arrangement, great service, pretty reasonably priced. 5 stars all day long. read more

I asked a family member who lives in Houston, TX for a recommendation for a flower store, so I could send a thank you present. I had a hard time getting in touch with the store since they apparently don't open until 11am/10:30am. Once I was able to get someone on the phone, I simply just told them the address, how much I wanted to spend, and that I just wanted white flowers. I told them I trusted their judgement and just to use as many white flowers as possible. The flower arrangement was delivered 5 hours later and it was BEAUTIFUL. I am absolutely thrilled I used Mason's Flowers instead of using 1-800-Flowers, considering the arrangement was only $50, and I would have never gotten something so beautiful with 1-800-Flowers. I highly recommend using Mason's if you need a really skilled florist. read more
