Please DO NOT support this business or Houston Flowery - both the same owner. TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE RUDE CUSTOMER SERVICE and TERRIBLE FLOWERS. My amazing bf placed an order for flowers on a Monday to be delivered for my birthday on Friday. He placed the order online and then called to confirm the time that I would be at work on Friday for the delivery. My flowers were delivered at 12pm on Saturday - a day after my birthday and on a day that I am not at work. After calling 5 times across multiple days and having all the employees give me the runaround about a manager or owner calling me back, I finally received a phone call from the owner who is a complete jerk and chauvinistic pig. Instead of apologizing and backing his guarantee via his website, his exact words were, "just be happy you got flowers" and "Baby, you're just one of my million customers". If you actually want flowers delivered on the day you ordered...spend your hard earned money elsewhere. The owner does not take responsibility for mistakes and does not care about customer satisfaction. There are WAY too many florists out there who will guarantee a quality product with great customer service. Please support me in not supporting such a lousy business. I've already filed a complaint via the Better Business Bureau and hope to spread the word further. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!! read more

I have ordered flowers from here twice before. I had bad experiences with both. Bottom line is that the employees are not willing to help you at all with anything. I am a guy, and I know nothing about flowers, and I had the most difficult time figuring out what I was doing there. No sample displays or books with sample arrangements. Just dealt with these guys for my son's school dance. They took the order for roses correctly, but delivered a mix of flowers. Cashier responded with a shrug. Wouldn't refund money or make the arrangement as we had ordered. They couldn't care less. Total crap. Go somewhere else. read more

I am so pleased with the service and the variety of the flowers at the Village flowery for years. We have been ordering flowers from this florist to be sent to friends as gifts for several occasions and always have been thrilled with the beautiful designs and the helpful and amazing staff! We also get our Xmas tree from them every year. David is the one of the owners I think. He's very very Friendly and warm and I can tell really loves his job. He'll go out of his way to please customers. Him and his staff out doing my sisters landscaping now and the job is already looking amazing even though it's not finished yet. Placed order couple days in advance for Valentine's Day, ordered a dozen roses and stargazer lily arrangement. When I arrived to pick up my flowers, i expected my flowers stored and waiting in refrigerator section, however my order was not made. The clerk proceeded to pick out a pre-made rose arrangement that had been sitting out all day and anyone could buy. The petals of the roses showing obvious distress. The lily arrangement - not made as well, was then made in front of my eyes, he proceed to pick pre-made arrangement shoving in lilies to make my order. My jaw dropped, was flabbergasted, so wanted to throw these flowers in their face but being day of would not be able to find replacement. Will never go back. read more

Quoted me $60 for an arrangement but then without warning charged me $120. Called to complain and they said the additionally $60 was for the vase, labor, and delivery. Seriously? $20 bucks for a vase, $20 for labor, and $20 bucks for delivery? The delivery was literally 2 blocks from the store! Gave me a measly $20 refund. Also claimed they quoted me $72 for the bouquet, although they finally acquiesced that that wasn't true and that they had told me $60. My friends and I ordered flowers from Village Flowery today--in the middle of a torrential rainstorm--for delivery to a girlfriend who just had a baby in the Med Center. VF made a stunning arrangement (she sent me pictures) and got it to her within a few hours of my order. The salesperson I spoke with (unfortunately I don't remember his name) was extremely helpful and pleasant. Before calling VF, I called other florists that I have used before and no one was available, especially given the weather. VF didn't complain about the weather, promised they would get started on it quickly, and they delivered on every front. I'll definitely use them again! read more

I bought flowers for my sister's graduation here a day earlier because they didn't open until 9 on Saturday which was the day of the big event! After spending $30 on a bouquet, I asked the worker how I could prolong the freshness of the flowers and they said either in a vase or refrigerator. I had planned on putting the flowers in a vase with water before, but after hearing that I could keep it in the fridge, I chose to keep the flowers in its original wrappings and store it in mini refrigerator at the hotel we were staying at. However, a couple hours later the flowers were completely ruined! The lilies became limp and the white hydrangeas were yellow. We eventually had to spend another $30 to fix the bouquet. Don't think I will ask advice from this florist again. read more

Terrible. I ordered the "deluxe" Precious in Purple. In my opinion I DEFINITELY DID NOT receive the "deluxe". What a rip off!! We have had these flowers for only 2 days and they look BAD! But it gets better, these where for an anniversary and they didn't even include the personalized card with the flowers! I will never come back here nor would I ever recommend.. I called and spoke to Tracy and she was Great. I asked for a plant for my sister in law who had a death in her family and Tracy guided me to an Orchid which I went with. My sister in law sent me a photo of a the beautiful Orchid that I sent. They did a great job and was able to deliver the same day. I appreciate the great service and quality of the Orchid. Multiple bad experiences at this florist...which is unfortunate. They produce nice arrangements, but orders are quite often incomplete or are completely missed. I ordered flowers recently, they lost the order, called me two weeks later wanted to know if they still needed to be sent. Really, after two weeks? Pathetic... While I can not say anything positive nor negative about the flowers, I can say that my interaction with an employee, PJ was extremely negative. While at first, he was helpful, after a mistake (and yes mistake - they happen), He admitted that he did not confirm the color prior to delivery. When I contacted him to see how we mightbe able to resolve this simple color mistake issue, he told me it was not his fault, there was nothing he could do, to never call him again, and that I could take this matter to court, then hung up on me. read more

I have use Village Flowery in Rice Village for years and probably spent more than $10,000 over the years in flower arrangements. Their arrangements are always more than i expect and the recipients are always pleased. No business is without issues and Village Flowery has had some logistical problems on a few of my orders. However they always work with me to provide a more that satisfactory solution and that is what is important. The owner has actually delivered flowers for me when the regular delivery driver forgot my arrangement. They always call if there are any issues and most of the time they are calling to tell me the issue is solved but they wanted to keep me informed. I have sent many friends to VF over the years and many of them still use VF on a regular bases. I would not recommend ordering via the website because those orders are delivered by the other store. I always call to the Rice Village location and order over the phone. read more

Very disappointing experience with this florist. I called to order a funeral spray for the funeral of the husband of a good friend. The woman who took my order was very nice and helpful and we spent some time discussing what I would like the spray to look like and what colors (bright vs. pastels) I would like to include. We decided on bright colors and since the man had been an avid gardener, some Texas native plants if available, sunflowers if available. NO PASTELS. The arrangement that was sent was the exact opposite of what I ordered. It contained mainly white flowers, hydrangeas and lilies. The darkest colored flowers were pale peach roses, and those were in full bloom and slightly drooping. Overall it was very feminine looking and the way it was put together was kind of ugly. Obviously the order was filled without looking at the instructions. I spent about $137.00 on the order. I called to ask what happened, I was kind of hoping they had some good explanation, and was told I would have to speak to the owner, Ben. Ben is very hard to get in touch with and once I did reach him he apologized and said he would look into it and call me back. No such luck. The woman who originally took my order did call me back and told me that Ben had said next time I placed an order with them to mention Ben and he would "take care of me". I asked what exactly that meant, does that just mean maybe they would get my order right next time? The woman did not know, said she would have to get back with me, and I have not gotten another phone call. I think since you are purchasing something sight unseen you have to be able to deal with a trustworthy florist. This one is not. read more
