I was delighted a few years back when new management took over the Mass. Ave. laundramat in E. Arlington just 2 blocks from my house. With the transition in management came definite improvements in equipment maintenenance, cleanliness, and signage. It's been great. Unfortunately, this past Saturday April 23, 2022, I had a problem there. While doing my laundry there, a very strong odor pervaded the laundramat---like diesel exhaust. Before even starting my wash, I phoned the telephone number on the bulletin board which advertised folding services, thinking this might also be the proprietor---since as far as could find, there was no contact phone number posted anywhere inviting customer contact with issues like this. The courteous male voice who answered this phone number, said he'd have someone come down and investigate the smell. They may have come after I left, but I don't remember during my 80 minutes or so at the laundramat that afternoon ever seeing anyone who was checking out an odor as far as I could tell. After I returned home, I realized that my clothes were now filled with that diesel exhaust odor, exactly like I smelled in the laundramat--perhaps other customers experienced the same problem? If you're listening, please correct this problem, there's another laundramat down the street which has its faults, but at least I don't have to worry about my clothes coming out smelling like truck exhaust after "cleaning". I don't come anywhere near trucks or truck exhaust in my work or home or anywhere else. Customer beware. It is a nicely maintained laundramat in every other way, and often not particularly busy, so in concept, I love it---but this odor problem is not a small blemish on their otherwise very favorable record in my eyes.
