When CoupMe landed a promo with Mass Mobile Massage, I really couldn't turn down a 60 minute massage for $50...in my own home! I didn't really consider the logistics of how a massage that comes to me would work, but scheduling was no problem. I wanted a massage on a couple of specific days, and Houston got back to me in a timely manner with available times. He was flexible when I needed to reschedule and gave appropriate notice. On the day of my massage, I got a call from my therapist, Linda, who asked if there was parking at my apartment and said she'd be arriving 15 minutes early. I appreciated the head's up, but she actually arrived just on time for my 7 pm appointment. I didn't really mind, but I did notice she was packing up her equipment at 8:03, so I didn't quite get a full 60 minutes of massage goodness. Anyway, the therapists show up with a huge bag housing your table, sheets, and a CD player for the requisite calming music. She had some great hot oil as well(and asked me first if using it was okay). The massage itself was good, although I would have preferred if she'd asked me some logistical questions(i.e., did I want a full body massage or for her to focus solely on my back) at the beginning of our session, instead of about midway through, which interrupted my zen moment a bit. She also made conversation as she worked on my arms (since I was lying face-up, I'd assume), which I didn't really mind, but again kind of killed the total meditation aspect. She was super sweet, though, and pretty good at what she does. I was surprised to feel loose but not sore the next day--- usually, when I get a massage, I'm a bit sore since my muscles are super messed up. I felt pretty great. I think I'm more into going to a spa for a massage, because the vibe is just more relaxing. It was nice not having to leave my house, but I also have a super cold room, and since I have hardwood floors, the sound of my masseuse's feet walking around the table was distracting. Neither of these are criticisms on the service, just something to keep in mind if you go with a mobile massage company: it works best if you have a relaxing, comfortable room to have it in. I found Mass Mobile Massage because turning my head, even trying to sleep on my back caused me intense discomfort. I received a response shortly after reaching out and booked an appointment, right away. (Don't press your luck though, I might have just gotten lucky.) Dan arrived promptly and was warm and courteous. He set up, I settled in, and he got right to work. The first thing that came to my mind when he started is "his touch feels like love" and like love, it was firm, gentle, and sometimes tough. He was able to find where things weren't quite right and give them just enough love to give me relief. I'm writing this review moments after my therapy has ended and I can now turn my head! An amazing massage in my living room? Um - could life get better? I purchased a Groupon here and had no intention of using the service beyond my 1 massage - but my experience was so amazing, I may have to become a member and commit to 1x/month massages. For 79- - that's an amazing deal. But let's get back to the massage. Honestly I had no idea what to expect - I'm a massage whore, so I'm pretty well-versed in the ongoings of massages, but in my house? Huh? Do I change into a robe? Introduce my cats? Put on music? No clue. My therapist was Cynthia, she called to confirm, arrived on time, and set up a table and some music. I asked her what to do and she advised - whatever I feel like. I wound up putting on a robe, allowed the cats to introduce themselves, and left the music up to her. The massage was GREAT. And, again, I'm a massage whore. I'm picky and like DEEP, and no time wasting (i.e. - just shoulders and back!). She listened to me, did what I asked, and went into way deep tissue mode. For some, it may have been painful (at which point - speak up) - for me, I love it. The hour passed blissfully, my muscles thanked me and begged for more, and then - I hopped off the table, back in my robe - and didn't have to go anywhere! I mean - does life get better? There were a few drawbacks - but honestly, nothing that I minded - I tend to feel that the best massages are not at the fancy expensive spas, instead, are at more affordable, less ritzy places. This was no ritz, the table was not the most comfortable (don't get me wrong - perfectly fine, but felt a bit unstable in spots and not as warm as it normally gets). One sort of funny thing was the music - I don't know if Cynthia had it set to a station that she normally uses, and it was kind of off even for her, but it was VERY random (to the point where it started talking about the Constitution). Honestly, I thought that was funny and Cynthia and laughed about it - but if you're picky about such things, you may want to have your own music ready. To me, a deep massage is way more important than anything else. I also have to mention, as a business owner, I was very impressed with Cynthia's professionalism, and Houston's marketing and follow up. Neither were pushy but both told me of the specials they run, they did a great job of walking the line of being informative, and an aggressive sales pitch. The confirmations and follow up were great - again, not pushy, but efficient. I can appreciate that, and how challenging that line can be. HIGHLY recommend. read more

Glenda was incredibly professional yet pleasant and was a very great massage therapist. i actually think i can say that so far it's the massage experience i've been most pleased with. she setup quickly and efficiently, was fully prepared, and the massage itself was fantastic. she hit all the right spots and paid attention to my limbs in a way that didnt feel like my arms and legs were just an afterthought. my main issue is always my back and shoulders- which she did superbly; she was able to pinpoint my trouble areas and pay extra attention. i usually dont expect much on the limbs and since i dont tend to have any issues thats not a concern for me- but i was so pleasantly surprised by the attention she paid and actually felt really good about my arms and legs afterwards! read more

I got a Buywithme coupon for a massage. It was $40 for 60 minute deep tissue or Swedish massage. Being a massage junkie, and learning they come to your home, of course I bought it. Scheduling was pretty simple and fast. Houston, the owner I think it is, gives you some appointment times a massage therapist is available. I requested a women because I feel more comfortable with a women massaging me in general, and also it was in my own home. He told me Gelinda would be coming to my house. Gelinda was really nice. I felt bad that she had to carry a giant massage table and all her items up a flight of stairs and showing up at my door. She was very prompt and very nice. She brought her own music and all the creams and oils...she even asked if I wanted cream or oil, which nobody has ever asked me before. But in terms of the massage itself, it really wasn't hard enough of a pressure for me. I told her I liked hard pressure but it was a bit meek for my taste. I liked some of her techniques, but I felt like she didn't really know where my sore/tight spots were. I have had MANY deep tissue massages, and that one was definitely not deep. It was just okay. If you were just getting a massage for relaxation or somebody just rubbing you for feeling good, then it's fine, but I am more particular about what I want and I feel like a really experienced massage therapist would know. Mass Mobile saved my holiday season. My office gets ridiculous this time of year, and we all needed massages. After trying unsuccessfully to get a masseuse from DTX to come over, I called Mass Mobile and they answered my prayers. Not only were their rates competitive ($100/hr for chair massages), they made it very easy to schedule and give them feedback on what we wanted - as long as we kept the overall time the same, they were willing to break it up however we wanted. The masseur himself was great, coming on time, being quick with setup and bringing music, keeping to our timetable so we didn't have to worry about missing our next meeting. We all felt really comfortable with him, and everyone got the massage they wanted, whether that was harder or more gentle. At the end, the owner called me so I could follow up with a credit card tip, as I had asked him about earlier. It was super convenient. Customer Service: I scheduled my massage with them, but 2 days before had a death in the family; they were super accommodating about rescheduling (I called them in advance of the 24 hour window) and sent me an email confirmation of my new appointment. The masseuse: I had a wonderful 1-hour massage with Jane. She was friendly and did a great job - I loved that when I was done, I could put on a robe and sit on my own couch at home. This is a great service if you're not looking to pay a premium for a massage at a Hotel Spa - I personally loved the privacy of being in my own home. Suggestion: if you live in the city without off-street parking, provide a lot of options for your masseuse. My MT (Megan) constantly asked if I was comfortable and made adjustments for me (it was a prenatal massage). It was an awesome massage! One of the best I've had. Wilson was very professional, had a wonderfully nurturing style, was incredibly sensitive (checking in periodically to make sure pressure, etc, was good and giving me warnings if a particular compression was going to be more intense), and clearly has a lot of talent (he isolated sore spots VERY skillfully). He also offered the extra bonus of going overtime and giving some suggestions for stretches. I'm a little sore today so I think the only thing I might have done differently is to have asked him to ease up on pressure at times, but he gave me ample opportunity to do so and I prefaced the massage telling him I could handle a lot of pressure, so this was clearly on me. Due to the number of hours he works it is very rare that he takes time to have a massage (we use to get them all the time) and Mass Mobile was a perfect solution since the therapist comes to your home.
