The woman who owns the spa is fabulous and all her girls give amazing massages. I went here for years until two separate times recently I went and had an infection afterwards on my back. I have massages done by Kai for about a half years now. In the early days, my whole body was very tight. She used warm stones to relax my muscle before the massage to ease my pains of the treatment. I went once a week in the beginning and now I don't go that often because her massage works and heals my muscles. She is very nice and her price is very good comparing to others I know. WHOA. I got a massage here a few days ago by Susan. I had been having severe tightness and pain in my left shoulder. I had never experienced anything like it so I didn't know what else to do but book a massage ASAP. I saw Oasis' good reviews and really great prices and they were able to fit me in after work when I called same day. Susan was accommodating and pleasant and HOLY moly she's strong! I've only ever gotten spa-like pretty easy massages in my life, but this time I knew I needed some deep work. She didn't shy away, she knew exactly what to do and where to go. She checked in to make sure it wasn't too painful or that I wasn't uncomfortable throughout the hour. She used hot stones to loosen me up as needed. I had some soreness afterwards but now, 3 days later and I'm almost 100% back to normal. So, 5 stars for Susan on the work and the results!!! The only reason I'm giving 4 stars here instead of 5 is because the facilities are pretty run down. The sheets on the massage table were thin and not very soft & the furnishings and decorations throughout the place are old. The prices are super economical, so I wasn't expecting a 5-star resort spa look and feel and it wouldn't stop me from going back but it just felt like it could've been better in this arena. They also charged me an extra $3 for using a credit card to pay without telling me ahead of time which was a little weird but honestly not a big deal because the prices are so good. read more

Before my most recent, terrible experience, I had been once before to Oasis. About a year ago, while driving back from competing in an all-day CrossFit competition, I stated to cramp up and was already getting sore. This was the only place I could find that could accommodate a deep-tissue massage on no advanced notice. In short; that was a decent massage, given the sketch location and ambience. More on that in a second. Fast forward to today. It so happened I would have some free time after work on Friday and was feeling particularly tight and knotty and in need of a massage. No place around was available on a few hours notice except Oasis so I decided to give them another try. First off, there is nothing "oasis" about Oasis. I'm not one for ambience. I get a massage to have deep muscle knots crushed with elbows. It's therapy, not relaxation. However, this place is downright sketchy. It's on the second floor of a nondescript building on Main St in Waltham and seems more like a place to buy meth than to receive therapy. If there was ever somewhere that fits the old "rub n' tug" moniker, this is it. I'm a good family man who is not looking for that type of place, but apparently they've had many a request at this fine establishment for such services. So many requests in fact, someone taped a sign on the wall requesting that you do not ask for such services. I had a snap a pictue. The sign, which is just a piece of paper, reads exactly: "We provide a Therapeutic Massage Session fo our clients in a tranquil and relaxing environment. We DO NOT offer and sexual services and request that you DO NOT ASK. Thank you- relax, unwind and enjoy your massage." So now that you get the picture, let's talk about the "deep tissue massage" that I paid in advance for. It was awful. Not much else to say; wrong technique, wrong places, not enough pressure, no ability to feel where the knots were, and not enough lotion at times so the friction was uncomfortable. This was all made worse by her almost complete lack of English fluency. Now I don't expect everyone to speak the King 's English everywhere, and lord knows most U.S. born citizens can't come close, but she didn't understand enough to let me help her get the right spots. Some reaching and pointing was about the only way we could communicate. Had the woman in charge- or who at least seemed to be in charge because she was answering the phone and running my credit card- been there when I left, I would have asked for the name of the masseuse I had last year. I may have considered going back because this place is 5 minutes from my house and not that expensive. She was long gone and I was left to awkwardly say goodnight to this woman who just wasted an hour of my time for $85 ($60+tip). I tipped $15 in advance because I don't like to be cheap in this area, and I was expecting something decent like my previous experience. My email request for a partial refund or compensation of some sort was not returned. The bottle of Poland Springs on the way out was a nice touch. read more

I had a recent running injury which led to severe back spasms and tightness everywhere that muscle relaxers and advil could not touch. The only position I could find relief was lying flat on a hard floor. I couldnt take it anymore and called every massage spot within a 20 mile radius and none could get me in for the same day. I called Oasis and they accommodated me that same evening. Mary had the hands of God she pinpointed all areas of tightness and released all the knots I didn't know I had that were causing such a strain. She was professional and thorough and made sure everything felt okay while she was doing it. This deep tissue massage was well worth it. It doesn't even compare to any of the other chains with whom i've had less than mediocre experiences with. This lady knows what she's doing. I had a very nice massage with Katie. I walked in with a lot of pain and she got right away to the problem areas. She is very attentive to the issues she feels. I went in for a deep tissue massage so I can't speak to anything else, but I enjoyed the coconut smelling lotion and the elegant Asian music in the background. She also used hot stones after my back was done- which I was not expecting, but was pleasantly surprised! Usually that is something places charge you extra for. I would like to start by saying the previous reviewer is an a$$h*le. I have been going to Oasis for over two years and I simply won't go anywhere else. I have had a LOT of massages from many different places. I've been to the fancy places like elements, and the chain places like massage envy... I've been to many different Chinese massage places and have learned the following: The fancy places have to pay for all those fancy things they have and charge way too much for the quality they provide. The chain places... don't even bother, it's just a miserable experience, they try to sell you the package, they don't have very good massage therapists and the massage isn't even a full hour. If you want a good massage with someone who really has a good understanding of the body and how to help the body heal go to a Chinese place. When I first went to Oasis I was completely blown away by the massage... Never once did I have to say "my shoulder, my lower back, etc" she could just tell exactly where the pain was. I live a very active life and I abuse my body by lifting too much, working too much, scrubbing, sanding, scraping, painting, you name it... if it hurts your back and shoulders I do it on a regular basis so my pain often moves around. One week I may have sore shoulders while the next week my lower back is tight, every time I go in she just knows where to give a little more attention. I geet deep tissue massages, and she really knows what deep tissue is. There is nothing worse than a massage that isn't hard enough.... never the case here. Now onto what the Jack A$$ above me has a problem with.... the sign on the wall. He is right, it is there. It is an asian massage parlor, not a place for a rub n tug. Unfortunately many American men assume that any Asian place will offer a happy ending. I honestly feel bad for the therapists! Can you imagine doing your job and someone asking for a "happy ending".... I asked her about this and was told she has been asked on many occasions. The sign doesn't offend me at all... Maybe the guy above me was so offended because he is one of the creeps that was looking for that.... just sayin. I had the best Foot Massage and Back Massage @ Oasis earlier today. The owner finished me off with an invigorating back massage, I felt like jelly when they were done with me! Having had foot problems I never had soaked my feet in salt water, then wrapped in warm towels and then had them expertly massaged by her staff while laying down on very comfy chairs. I used to love going here until recently. The last time I got a massage, I was going out to my car to get cash for a tip (which I did not feel the need to explain), at which point my masseuse ran after me into the stairwell, yelling "No Tip!?" and yelling back at their colleagues about it. When I went back inside with the cash tip, the woman then proceeded to tell me how much to tip her, and fought the 15% tip I gave. I will never return for a massage here. read more

I really enjoy the massages here. But they're not for the faint of heart - even when my boyfriend asked for Swedish-style, he was overwhelmed by the woman's strength. I prefer a deep, get-the-knots-out kind of massage, and they do an excellent job. The only negative to this place is the atmosphere. The location is an older apartment, and their equipment could use some updating. They also use towels to cover you during the massage, but they really only cover up your backside - they're not like the nice sheets you typically get at more updated salons. Worst experience at any massage/reflexology studio ever. Made an appt for reflexology for two. This was a Groupon transaction and when we got there we gave up our coupons. We were brought in and they started the soaking process. After 12 or so minutes they came back and said that they didn't have time to do the reflexology and that only one of the coupons was valid. Really? How is that possible? Anyway, we left and contacted Groupon who wouldn't refund our money but did reinstate the two Groupons. Called a second time to make appointments for two reflexology and guess what, they wouldn't honor both coupons. We're not going to bother fighting with these people. Trust me when I say stay away from this place. There are plenty of other options when it comes to reflexology. read more
