Previously had ordered firewood a few years ago at the end of the summer when my regular firewood supplier was unavailable. Stacked in the usual manner and come December, began to burn it. Wood didn't burn well, and I was pretty disappointed. Fast forward to this winter when I ran low and again my normal firewood supplier was unavailable. Decided to give Mass Mulch another shot. Got it delivered, and didn't touch it for a month while I burned what I had left. Again wood isn't burning well. Seems like there's a lot of moisture still in the wood. Tough to get going, and fire isn't throwing much heat at all. The ordering and delivery were excellent experiences. The quality is the reason for the low review. read more

Crappy mulch, have found rocks and, dirt and crud in the mulch that was delivered; on top of that, it was short about 3/4 of a yard. My beds take 5 yes of mulch and first time I ran short. Tried calling but no one answered on multiple attempts. HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED read more

First off its near impossible to have top soil delivered and it be less than five cubic yard. Mass Mulch delivered three yard in the spot I asked. They were neat, on time. Also you email them and I usually had a response in less than 15 minutes! And their price was quite good. If you need top soil for your lawn or garden, you have to work with these folks. read more

I purchased the Growers Mix, it apparently it was poor quality and lacked nutrients despite its name. I amended it with lots of organic material and fertilizers but my plants still did not thrive and I would never buy this again. It should be called something else. When I called to inquire as to what was in it I was told they didn't know because they just buy it from someone else. read more

Service was great but quality of the mulch was very poor. Got 4 yd.³ of black mulch and it was littered with pieces of plastic and trash. Also some kind of strange air bubble fungus appeared after in spots of the mulch as well. Won't be using them again next year. Update: the owner did reach out to make things right, but the quality of the mulch still was what it was. Changing rating to 3 stars. read more

I am extremely disappointed in the customer service we received from Mass Mulch. To give additional context: we had a concern over the delivery and customer service we received so we sent an email highlighting our experience. The owner, Bob, felt that replying to our concerns with a condescending email was the best course of action rather than apologizing for any confusion or misunderstanding. As Bob's email states to us, "this pretty much makes this transaction not worth our company time." If you want a company with satisfactory customer service, I would not recommend using Mass Mulch. read more

I would have given a zero if it was available. bought 6 yards of black mulch. it is filled with pieces of plastic, a nail, rubber bands, plastic bread fasteners, pieces from plastic bags, strings, pine cones, Christmas tree tinsel, labels off of fruit, and many many stones, some in every shovel full. none of which compost down. Reached out to mass mulch and have not heard back from them. charged $350 for 6 yards of pure crap. BUYER BEWARE. I have been a customer for several years and this is too much I will never buy from mass mulch again ever. read more

Mass Mulch is a fantastic concept and great business. This in my second year using them and I will continue to do so moving forward. Their customer service is top notch (their owner responded to my txt message to him regarding services!). I got 5 yards of loom and 4 yards of black mulch this year and was told that delivery would be made between 8-12, the delivery was made at 8:22 and I was off and running doing my yard work for the day! I would HIGHLY recommend this company for any of the services that they provide! Not to mention, I received an email with coupons for their services after I already had my items delivered. I called and asked if they could take the coupon off of the bill that I had already paid but was told that they couldn't change my order. HOWEVER, the very pleasant female who answers the phone, put a note in their system so I will get the coupon to go towards my next years service! read more

This is the second year I've ordered from Mass Mulch and well, it's mulch so not too much to be said about it. Last year was a piece of cake and the delivery came when I was home so decided to do it again this year. It's so much easier ordering rather than buying all those bags and bringing them home from the store. This year I wasn't home and unforunately some rocks were knocked out of the wall during delivery. I e-mailed them not expecting any response about it, especially due to the disclaimer on the bill. However, much to my surprise they responded and after a few e-mail exchanges the owner fixed it. I am still surprised by this in 2021 that the owner went through such care to respond and do this. I don't even order that much mulch. so kudos to them for customer service which really went above and beyond. read more

Fantastic business still..when you call or go on line and order they are there very quickly with whatever you ordered. Very good company and great product they deliver...Great family run business...I highly recommend them .....and reviewing Betty's complaint about wood wod makes sense that she is not getting a great burn. You need seasoned firewood in a wood stove to get a perfect burn..I would re order next time a fully season wood.. I noticed the owners reply and I'd give him another chance as I believe he was trying to make things right with you. A bad company would not get back to you and I believe this great family business tried to do just that...get back to you and make things good. They are anchored in great customer service. The website is laid out in a way that is simple to understand. Very clear on pricing and delivery charges. I had a very limited space on my property to deliver my compost and mulch. I left a marker as instructed to where the driver will dump the products. I received a call from the driver as I was leaving work. He was concerned about the location I had marked because it would be partially on the lawn. That's great customer service. The only feedback I would offer would be to add the email communication/ verification process to the online order form page, where it states 'a customer service rep will contact you'. I hadn't received a call and called to confirm my order I placed online, not realizing that they sent an email as communication. The rep on the phone was great as well.
