It's a shame, I've had them for 5 years and they dropped me out of the blue. Confirmed 2 weeks before that they would open my pool and then wouldn't even take a phone call or text from me. A complete lack of respect and accountability takes every good thing about this company and this is all I will remember. Could not be more unsatisfied with this business and the owner, Clay. I hired Clay and his company to service the pool at a new property that I purchased in Charlotte at the beginning of June. The communication was spotty from the start, but Clay assured me we would get on a schedule and everything would be fine. Fast forward a month, multiple missed appointments, no returned phone calls, and a pool that is now green and has algae growing on it, and Clay is telling me to "find another company because he is not the one for the job." Mind you this is after another company has quoted me $3,000 to repair this pool that was perfectly flowing at the time I handed it over to him. Clay has now stopped responding to text messages, claims emails were sent that I never received, and refuses to stand by the work that they promised. Absolutely do not hire this company under any circumstances. They lack ethics, morals, proper communication, accountability, and professionalism. read more

mass pools has been taking care of my pool for a few years now. They have done a great job and I recommend!

I strongly do not recommend using Mass Pools and Spa's. They can't handle the workload, miss and change visits often and took 7 months to TRY and fix my heater. I paid over 900 dollars for the heater and he refunded one part that he purchased, charged me for the remainder and it NEVER worked. He also fixed my pump and it quit less than a month later and was shooting sparks into the house. Clay responded with a 'ha ha' and wouldn't provide me with the warranty for the 'motor' he installed on the pump. He is terrible at communicating, always has an excuse, and doesn't charge you to actually fix something, but the cost of troubleshooting each piece at a time. I shouldn't have paid him until it was working properly. He was rude after I fired them and inconsiderate. read more

This company and the owner Clay are awesome and the best in the business. I have been a customer for almost 2 years and at the time I hired them I had just purchased my home with an in ground pool. Clay came right out to assist with an estimate on monthly maintenance and best tips for caring for my pool. He has always been there to assist whether last minute or on my scheduled cleaning days. Without him I wouldn't know what to do. If you are looking for a company that is personable, professional, great at what they do and who's customers are a priority then this is your company. Mass Pools does a great job cleaning our pool. The work is always done well and thoroughly and everything is cleaned up at the end. Prices are very competitive for this area. The owner, Clay Massenburg, is certified in both fresh-water and salt-water pools and was a life-saver when we converted our pool to salt-water. He took the time to explain everything to us and held our hands throughout the process. I am usually alone during the day with several small children so I have to trust anyone that comes to my house and I am completely comfortable with Clay here. He is a big man and my little boy always has to run out and visit with him a few minutes, He is convinced Clay is our security guard and Clay always tells him he is there to protect his little buddy. I cannot say enough about how excellent Clay is!!! He is the real deal. He represents what a local business owner is all about-- hard work & commitment to his customers. We have a large in ground pool & spa with a waterfall, & have used other companies in the past. I'm home when they come & let me tell you-- the employees the other companies sent out did 1 speck of the work that Clay does & also charged much more!! (On top of that, one company we used left dozens of heavy bags of chemicals by our pool pump to use when they come instead of having to "deal with it" at each visit. 2 companies in the past have dumped the contents of our pool filter right down onto our rocks by the pump, so it was a piled up wet leaf mess out there. Unlike those companies, Clay is DETAIL oriented, KIND & an excellent man to do the job. He even leaf-blows our pool patio area! I wish I could have someone like him do all of our home work because he cares about what he does. **This man has also helped me on multiple occasions, by rolling my trash bin from the road to its place, after the dump truck emptied it!
