Gorgeous place! Surrounded by sagebrush and juniper, beautiful views. Definitely the best campsite I've stayed at on my California-North Dakota round trip. This place is also good for tent camping (Site #11 is cheaper if you don't need a water hookup). The campground hosts are friendly, the bathrooms and sites are clean, and there's enough space between campsites to give you some privacy. I'll definitely stay here again.

    Not many people here.

Nice easy hike to wagon trails, water and the bluffs. Worth stopping for so you can stretch your legs.

I really enjoyed hiking through this park. Located in American Falls, the park is easily accessible, right off the highway, with plenty of parking for a $5 entrance fee per car. A small visitors' center near the entrance offers trail maps and some information about the landscape and wildlife. Don't miss the River Trail with views of the Snake River winding its way through the mountains, and the Canyon Trail/Oregon Trail with views overlooking the canyon from up above. We drove to different parking lots throughout the park to easily access the different trails, which made for some beautiful short day hikes.

Beautiful and well-laid out campground. If you can fit, pick a spot in the lower loop. The upper loop is better for bigger rigs, has some sites with good views, but a bit more road noise. We enjoyed hiking around on out short stay here. The bathrooms were clean and showers were hot. There was electric and water at our site, and the campground has a dump station.

What can I say except I LOVE THIS PLACE! Truly a beautiful campground. Trees everywhere that gives…read moregreat shade. I say 85% of the RV sites have great shade. The water is literally right by the RV sites . Tent camping and cabins are available too. Each site has water and power hook ups but NO sewer. There is a dump station at the entrance to the RV park though. They have nice trails through out the park. Next to the RV campgrounds is a HUGE park with playground with swings and slides . My 5yr old son loved the park. They have a cool frisbee course if your into that . The wildlife here was cool too. We saw wild otters , plenty of raccoons so make sure you lock your food up, and deers. We saw a deer practically every day. Heard coyotes at night so keep your pets under watch . Speaking of pets . You are allowed to have dogs here. My 2 dogs had a blast swimming. There was a cool dock right by our site that my son enjoyed swimming at. With a ladder connected to dock so you can do cool cannon balls lol. It had tie ups for boats and jet skis and also a jet ski ramp at the dock. There's a main dock next to this dock where boats pull and and park . They have CLEAN restrooms with super clean showers too in middle of campsites . The camp hosts here are very friendly and eager to help or give info. They also sell firewood at the camp hosts site if you need some. The person who truly made our trip fantastic and enjoyable was Mary. She is one of the most helpful and friendly person we have met on our trip. She went out of her way to make sure my family was relaxed and having a good time. Mary helped us out numerous times with different minor issues and was super nice each time. You can tell she takes pride in her job. Lake Walcott is lucky to have her. THANK YOU SO MUCH MARY FOR EVERYTHING YOU DID FOR MY FAMILY!!! We love yah ! The bugs out here is something else! Especially at night so just make sure you have PLENTY of mosquitos spray!! That's my one major advice and can give!! We definitely will be back and highly recommend Lake Walcott!!
