This pass Saturday it happened and I knew I had to find someone that could really help me with this issue. I was lucky enough to get an appointment with Phil, he took his time to help me get on the table, listen to my all of my concerns and addressed all the issues with my back along with other areas. I have never been worked on like that before when I had one of these back episodes in the past. He knew exactly when to apply pressure and when to lighten up. Throughout the whole process he would check in with me to make sure I was getting relief. When I tell you I was in complete shock at how much he minimized my pain afterwards I wanted to cry! This man knows what he is doing and really listens to his clients. I've only had 2 sessions with him so far and my back is a million times better just after that first session. I have tried physical therapy and other places to help keep this at bay and nothing has worked this quick and provided so much relief. I found him on Yelp and went to his website late Sunday night and saw he had an 8 am appointment available for the next morning. I wasn't sure if I booked if he'd actually get a notification and know I was coming so I texted him on the number listed here around 7:30 and he told me come on in. He was also nice enough to accommodate me at 8:30 even though he only offers massage from 8-9 on Monday mornings. When I arrived he asked me what issues I was having and what I was looking for and then got to work. I've never had a deep tissue/sports massage before so I wasn't sure what to expect but it was in many ways like a regular spa massage. You know, get naked (or undress to your comfort level) and lay on the massage table. His was heated which was a nice touch. Like others mentioned he was great about checking in with me during and asking if I was ok or needed more/less pressure etc. I found he was able to immediately hone in on the sore spots in my neck and shoulders and used just the right amount of pressure. I was looking for a strong touch and got it. Very happy with the massage and the pricing was more than reasonable. His understanding of the human body -- muscles, ligaments, tendons -- how to treat the body, how to stretch the body, and how to work out those pesky knots is honestly incredible. As far as the massage spaces themselves, they are not fully private rooms but rather individual areas separated by curtains. There is still plenty of privacy and the lighting is dim so you don't feel like people are looking at you. Of course, guests should still be courteous by silencing their phones and speaking quietly. Before your massage, there is a pre-debrief room where you talk with your therapist about any problem areas, ailments, or what you are hoping to get out of the session. Post-massage you also briefly debrief in that same room to make sure you feel good and everything went well. It's unacceptable for a business to ignore calls all day and then refuse to help when their lack of communication causes a problem. The receptionist was dismissive, unprofessional, and completely unwilling to assist. Based on this experience alone, I would not recommend this place to anyone. I would also like to clarify that I had no issue paying the cancellation fee if it was required. My concern was that I asked multiple times about the possibility of rescheduling my appointment, but that option was never offered or discussed.
