I would have give them a 3 star rating, but Jessica D. brought them up to a four (I give her 5 stars). I have the monthly membership and I always look forward to my massage. I've had many of the therapist there work on me and each one has been great. They always make me feel comfortable and work on the areas I ask for but more importantly stay away from areas I don't enjoy. Front desk staff is also pleasant when I call and come in. read more

Service is ok. Massage was great. Got sucked into a recurring monthly charge that I have attempted to stop for 4 months (after completing the original period). Every time I call, they are pleasant and unable to help, but will have the manager call me tomorrow. I am still waiting for all the tomorrows to come. If you want a massage get a massage, but pay for them one at a time, or you will end up paying a lot more than you want. read more

Decided to take advantage of the $49 intro massage...You know the saying you get what you pay for...well, this might be true here. The expereince started with the intake person who was pleasant enough, but it was clear she didn't bother to read the intake form that I had just completed. She asked me questions that I had already answered on the form. She also expected me to discuss my personal needs in the front and very un-private waiting area. I told her I preferred a private space so we went into the more private waiting area-why didn't we do that in the first place?--why isn't there a private space for intake or why didn't we just go into the massage room I was going into anyway?? I made it clear on the intake form, to the intake person, and to the massage therapist that I had injured my knee and it should be avoided competely. Despite this, the massage therapist touched my knee and placed pressure on it. I had to tell her not to touch the entire leg since I felt I couldn't trust her again. In addition, I had requested someone who was more experienced--you guessed it--that fell thru and I got someone who was inexperienced as a massage therapist and as someone dealing with customers in a very intimate setting. When all was done, I will have to say that I felt lighter, but not satsified. When I left, the intake person asked me if I would like to leave a tip. I simply said no and it was very obvious that she didn't like that. I won't be back. There are many excellent, caring, gentle massage therapists out there who I'd rather visit. read more

I went for a massage this weekend with Jake and he was wonderful. He really was in-tune with my massage needs and was able to pick up on subtle cues such as body flinching if uncomfortable or more pressure when needed. The entire massage was so relaxing I nearly fell asleep! I cannot wait for my next massage appointment with him. I highly recommend him to anyone who wants gentle/firm technique. I had a bad experience at another massage place nearby and was skeptical as to whether a corporate chain will be sufficient enough, but I was so pleased with my experience I immediately signed up for membership. read more

Make sure you ask for Jessica D. I had a 90 min massage with her today and it was wonderful. Relaxing, but enough pressure in just the right places to get the kinks out. Jessica is great - friendly and knowledgeable. She even gave me stretches to help keep my muscles loose. I've been to another ME establishment and was not thrilled with the treatment, so I was a bit hesitant today. But my experience was so good, I'm really considering getting a membership, even with the drive from DC. read more

My husband signed me up for a membership for Mother's Day about a year and a half ago and I have struggled with trying to work with these people for the entire duration of the membership. There is nothing about this massage experience I would recommend. It is difficult to find a decent therapists as they have such a high rate of turnover and getting an appointment is challenging. The last time I went into the Annapolis franchise I was given a 2 page information sheet just as my massage was suppose to begin. I was told I needed to fill it out because they had gotten rid of my information even though I had been a member for over a year. When I refused, the receptionist told me they were doing me a favor, allowing me to use a massage I had already paid for. I was so frustrated with Massage Envy and want to tell everyone how difficult it is to work with these people. Terrible experience and caused me more stress, in place where you are suppose to feel safe and relaxed. read more

Have been a member here for about 9 months, but am cancelling today. The therapists have been fairly good (one particularly so, but even she is leaving for a better place I found out recently), but, the noise level here is not conducive to a relaxing visit. Every time I've been I have been awakened, or just annoyed while attempting to relax, by people slamming doors in other rooms (or the exit/entry doors in the front) and people talking, loudly, laughing, etc. either in the rooms or up and down the hallways - the walls are paper thin. I've even heard the therapists talking to people in the next rooms! And not just for a couple of minutes, but the entire hour or hour an a half! So irritating when you are trying to relax! And this is every time I've been in 9 months (and I've had more than one massage a month some months as well, so probably a total of 15 times). When I fill out their survey online that they send I always state these same things over and over, but alas, no one seems to care because it contines to happen. I have even suggested they post signs on the way in "Please use quiet voices or whisper while in the spa area" or "Please refrain from slamming doors in the spa area so others may have a relaxing experience." Or even tell the therapists and the front desk people to remind people to do so, but it never happens. So, they've lost another customer because of these things and I'm sure I won't be the last. Maybe if more people complain they will change their ways, but I doubt it. I'm tired of the cattle call spa experience and will be going back to a "real" spa. Worth the extra money, trust me! read more

I have been a member of Massage Envy Spa in Annapolis for a couple of years now and I love it. It is, without a doubt, the best money that I spend on myself every month! I have one therapist that I work with every month and she is fantastic. She knows my problem areas and we discuss what is bothering me in detail before each session begins -- and this never cuts into my table time. When my daughter comes home from college for a visit, the first thing she wants to do is go and get a massage. I have had several massages at this Massage Envy location, and find the massage therapists to be friendly & professional. They are welcoming, and they encourage you to let them know if the massage pressure is right for you or if it need adjusting. I think communication is key to whether or not you have an enjoyable experience. If you politely ask the therapist to adjust what they're doing to fit your needs, I've found they are always looking to accomodate the customer. The price is right, and the location is convenient. I did not have a bad experience, but not so great either. Everyone was kind, professional, and accomodating. For the introductory offer of $49, I am not upset. However, to be a regular customer, I would expect a higher quality massage. My massage was not given by a Certified Massage Therapist, but rather a Registered Massage "Practitioner." I believe the difference is in the amount of schooling. It started off strong and relaxing, but then disintegrated and I was wondering if he was even paying attention to the quality he was providing. I spoke up about the pressure being a bit too hard, and he returned to the good quality in the beginning. I have had many different massage experiences and don't like to complain, but there was a moment when I felt like I was not in the hands of an experienced professional. I won't go back for $98/hr. but would be willing to try a different therapist for the introductory offer. I have heard great things about Georgia from a friend of mine. read more

So I requested a appointment on Wednesday online, 3/15/2017 and they never called to confirmed, since I have never been there I thought this was a part of their procedure. I called the morning of my appointment to confirm my appointment which was 2 days later, when the girl who took my call checked my name and did not have the appointment scheduled. She couldn't find me in her system, and proceeded to tell me "sorry someone should have called you." But yet did not feel like she could accommodate me. I was trying to find out whether this place was worth buying $ 250.00 gift certificates for my employees for their Christmas bonus this year but "Buyer Beware" NO CHANCE OF THAT HAPPENING" They should definitely hire professional employees instead of basic generic young inexperienced girls. They unknowingly just lost $14,500.00 What a loss !! I cant imagine how unprofessional their therapists are. Please go somewhere else if you want your money's worth !!! This place is over priced and seriously not staffed professionally. read more
