Other than a mask not covering her nose, the receptionist was super helpful. I called on a Saturday morning and got an appointment Saturday afternoon. My masseuse specialized in deep tissue and did an excellent job and was good company. His name is Jason I would highly recommend him. He has over 20 years experience in the profession. I did have a problem with trying to use "expired" massages but again the receptionist was able to take care of me and resolve the issue. If you had to stop your membership due to a COVID related budgeting concern and have unused massages left, do not let them tell you, it isn't available. Sigh, where do I begin? Easy to sign up, easy to get billed (they will bill any card on file until payment is made), and easy to feel relaxed after a massage is completed. Then the difficulties arise. Very difficult to book sessions. Website is not user friendly, hard to modify appointments and limited availabilities for the type of massage that you desire. Both my neck and legs were very sore due to working out and he tailored my massage to fit my needs. He was very attentive, continually made sure I was comfortable, and gave me some great advice on stretching to help prevent sore muscles in the future. After my massage I went to pay with gift cards that were given to me as a present. When the girl working the desk ran the card she Said there was nothing on the card. So I contacted the person who purchased the gift card for me and she assured me that the gift card was good. Massage Envy wasn't budging and said they had already been used. The person that purchased the gift card paid for me for my massage over the phone and apologized. If you enjoy having horrible, over-priced massages and then having a used car salesmen try to pressure-sell you a membership, this is the place for you! 1st time massage is $49 and after that it's $79 unless you get the $40-60/month membership (I don't recall the exact price), then it's $39 for 1 hour. Hands down (no pun intended), this was the very worst massage I have ever had. I asked for one type of massage and the therapist told me pretty much that wasn't what I wanted. I tried to go with the flow (this is supposed to be relaxing, no?) and the result is that I'm in even more pain after the massage than I was in before. I was willing to think that this problem was isolated to this one therapist, but my husband also had a massage and he had the exact same issues - the therapist didn't listen to him and the massage was extremely bad. And then to top things off, the receptionist tries to pressure-sell us a membership while we're checking out. In case you were wondering about the Massage Envy in Beaver Creek and were thinking about giving them a try, I definitely recommend them. I even signed up for the membership I was so impressed with this business! I had my first massage with Consuela and I recommend her highly! I've had lots of massages in my life and this was I think the best so far. Consuela has a gift for massage, I didn't even need to tell her where I hurt or what needed work, she found all my knots and kinked muscles and worked them out. Now, she's a little person and I didn't think she'd have the "power" needed to work out those kinks, but not to worry, she is strong! Another thing to mention is that the office staff is very kind and polite and efficient. I don't need to go anywhere else, I've found my go to massage place and I'm not leaving! I have been a loyal member at Massage Envy for the past 10+ years. I have had an absolutely miserable time the past 6-8 months with this membership. I'm not sure if it is solely due to a lack of staffing, but I haven't been able to book many sessions during this time. There just were not any available sessions in the evening when I'm available, even looking out weeks or months. And the few massages I was able to book, most of them were cancelled on me prior to ever receiving the massage, for various reasons. This has left me with many unused credits. Given that they are not able to provide the services that were promised to me, I asked to cancel my membership and have my current credits reimbursed. The manager told me that the unused credits were not able to be reimbursed due to "policy". It seems reasonable to me that if a company cannot provide the promised services then they have an obligation to reimburse anything that was pre-paid, otherwise this is akin to stealing. I would not recommend using Massage Envy under any circumstances, as they clearly don't care about their members, only the bottom line. read more

Friendly staff and a huge place with lots of beds. This stood out to me the most just because the massage places I have been too have been rather small so harder to book; so if you are trying to get a quick massages in this is your place. I went for a 1.5 hr massage including a 10 min foot scrub and fell asleep on the table (who wouldn't?). I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised when I came in for my massage today. The staff at the front desk were very welcoming and the waiting room was nice and relaxing. Berenice was my massage therapist and she was very professional. Even when they told me about the membership at the end it wasn't pushy, just informative. The only reason that I didn't give 5 stars is because the original massage therapist I was supposed to have came out with a medical mask on and told me she thinks she has a sinus infection. In a setting like a massage I suggest that all employees stay home if they are sick. The flu is scary this year and it's not worth the risk. My review is based solely on the therapist I see regularly, Rob Serio. He is a truly talented therapist who has helped me tremendously with several issues I've had resulting from sports injuries and strain. The only reason I did not give this place 5 stars is because I often have a difficult time getting appointments when I need them, which is sometimes short notice - Rob is so popular that he's often booked weeks or even over a month in advance for the times I can get there. If I could give this place a zero, I would. Feeling very upset and frustrated at the moment. Having a particularly stressful summer, I booked an hour long massage. Got a call to confirm the appointment and everything. Fast forward to the appointment time, I drive 30 mins to get to my appointment, only to be told it had been cancelled. Not so much as a phone call to let me know. They offered no apology, until I pointed out they didn't apologize. I wasted an hour of driving and they didn't offer any form of solution to my problem. They also, did not have ANY available time slots to work with my busy schedule. It's shameful that they make you pay for your appointment if you cancel within 24 hrs but they don't even offer a phone call if they need to cancel. The staff and administration treated me terrible personally and I asked if this is how you do everyone so nasty and I was told well we are making some exceptions. No one wants to pay for something they didn't get especially since you were the one that cancelled my appointment... I have not been able to come after you cancelled and now you say you are not giving me my money back or scheduling me for service because I could not come in after you canceled me in the first place. You feel like it's ok to steal my money and not offer any service! Since you canceled me I should have the option of coming when I can without you stealing my money for prepaid services! Just like you said you canceled my services because you were closed, I think it should not be you steal my prepaid services... that's taking advantage of people in the middle of a pandemic for your own personal money gain. That is greed!!!People do not need to be taking advantage of like that and you are causing stress and NOT relieving it which that's what you say you suppose to do... that is hypocritical! I've been going here for a few years now. And the staff up front is always very nice. And the massage staff is great. From experience my favorite therapist is Karen (hands down)!! She knows what she is doing! Yes, it might be pricy for some and you do have to find your own therapist that is right for you (it took me a couple times). Honestly if I could leave zero stars I would. My "esthetician" who had apparently doing this for 10 years (so she says) greeted me 8 minutes late, and was pretty much very impolite through the whole experience. I'll try to make this as short as possible because the bigger issue was the customer service manager at that location. So, as I said she started 8 mins late. The appointment was booked for an hr but the actual process is only 50 mins. I set my timer as soon as I was in the bed. She said that she could not customize my facial to my needs like the girls up front told me, so I chose to do their acne facial. I told her my concerns and wanted the blemishes to be extracted. She did extractions for about 1 min. Afterwards, she applied the clay mask and literally as soon as she put it on she took it off right away. I asked "that's the mask right?" She said yes. I said "don't you think you should leave that on a little bit longer??" She said no. Okay.. following with my moisturizer and saying I was done. I was like wait what? My timer didn't go off. I go to look at it and there was over 4 mins left. Mind you, she started 8 mins late. I get out and she's waiting for me with water. I tell her I just need to go to the bathroom really quick. I come out, and she disappeared. I escorted myself to the front desk and there's 3 girls up there. All of them just looking at me not saying anything. So I say can somebody check me out or...? Finally she does. I still left her 20% gratuity because I'm in the industry. I get home and see makeup ALL over my face, black under my eyes, and she extracted nothing from what I could tell. I had to redo the whole facial the entire thing. I would compare this massage envy to a Fantastic Sams where all the retired hairdressers go. After speaking to the manager I'm even more furious. Dustin he said his name was, gave me a very generic apology and offered me to come back in and get this, SPEND MORE MONEY. I told him all I wanted was my money back and he refused. I turned to Massage Envy when I was struggling with headaches and neck pain. I had tried everything else. My first visit, they specifically worked on my head and neck. The staff suggested that I get a membership, but I just wasn't sure. I asked the front desk staff for a letter for my insurance and they quickly typed it up. About a week passed without pain, and I decided to have another massage. Again, another great visit. This time I decided to try the membership package. I booked 2 months worth of appointments. The staff called before the appointments as a general reminder and left professional and courteous messages. I had a great experience each time. The desk staff had the insurance letter for me when I checked out each time. I have since been a member since last June. I cannot think of any negative experience that I've had. Each therapist asked me about my pain, the pressure that I preferred, and made sure that the table was warm when I arrived. Great staff, great therapists. It's convenient to book your next appointment with your therapist on your way out the door. I've had no problems changing in the event of emergencies. read more

I have only been to a Massage Envy in Arizona so I thought I would give this location a try. This is the worst massage I have ever had. Massage Envy hires people with no experience and charges way too much. I went in with some discomfort and issues. And I expected to be mildly tender the following day. I hurt for five days after my massage. I think the therapist did way more harm than good. There was no finesse or relaxation. She poked around until she found the knots and attacked them point blank. There was no relaxing surrounding muscles, working on trigger points or counter triggers. She came across unsure of what she was doing. I felt like a student she was practicing on. read more

I have never been pressured by the staff and have actually heard other people talking about "upgrades" to services, wondering why they weren't mentioned to me. Also, when I walk in, they say hello, open the door to the waiting area, and offer me water. Upon leaving, they ask If I would like to leave a tip and whether or not I'd like to schedule my next appointment. Pretty standard. My 17 year old daughter called to make an appointment for a massage. They booked her with a male. She shows up at the appointment and they told her she had to have a parent signature before she can get her massage because she is under 18. From the start they were not friendly or welcoming. I drove to Beaver Creek at 6:30 at night to sign the release form. On my way there my daughter called me very upset because they had just told her that I had to sit in on the massage because she is a minor and the person doing the massage is a male. I was unable to sit there for an hour on such short notice. The staff at the front seemed unsure of how to handle the situation. They did not inform her of this until she asked for further information. She wanted to reschedule by phone when she got home and the staff memeber informed her if she "cancels" again, she will be charged for the full price of a massage. She was already in the system when she called to make the appointment which means they had her birthdate on file. You would think if a female minor was scheduling an appointment with a male that the staff would inform her of this policy beforehand so there would not be this confusion when she came in for her massage. The women at the front desk did not seem to realize that this was a mistake on their part and made no effort to remedy the situation. We will not be returning to this location or any other. read more

I have been a member of ME since Oct 2008 and the recent events have been disappointing. I started my membership in Washington State and moved to NC about 9 months later. I really only visit the Apex NC location and filled out paperwork on at least 2 occasions to transfer my membership. I have been trying to get pregnant since Jan of this year and it has been difficult to use my monthly massage because I was not sure each month if I was pregnant and my therapist side it could be dangerous to get a massages. I normally get at least 2 a month so in years past it was not heard to use my prepaid. Since Jan my prepaid starting stacking up and I eventually decided to cancel my membership in Aug for the time being. When I spoke to the local store in Apex to cancel they told me I had 3 prepaids and that I needed to use them within a month. My original paperwork from WA states I have a year to use them. I eventually got them to agree to give me a few months and they set them to expire on Dec 31st. In Oct I found out that I was pregnant and have been waiting to get into my 2nd trimester to use the massages per their rules. When I finally got there a few weeks ago I called and they said the young lady I always see could not do them as she was not certified. I have had two spinal surgeries so I do not trust many people to work on me so I asked if I can transfer the treatments to anyone else in my family. I was told yes for $10 and I booked a massage at the location for my mom on Jan 2nd for 1 and 1/2 hours to at least use some of my 3 prepaids left. When I called to confirm the massage on Tuesday I was told that would now not work because my massages expire on Dec 31st. The man that booked teh massage told me her would waive teh few days and it would be fine. I asked if anyone at the store could see me and they did not have any openings this week. I called several other locations and there was only one place that had a prenatal massage opening so I can at least use one credit. When I spoke to the store in Apex they were VERY rude to me and told me that a manager would call me to discuss, that was Tuesday and still no call. I just called the store to confirm there has been a manager on duty since Tuesday. Clearly I am upset that the local Apex location will not honor my membership terms and I am losing money, but more importantly I am hurt that after 3 years of being a member to be treated so poorly. I fully intended to rejoin now that I was in my second trimester and can be seen monthly. At the time I canceled it was just insure on how long it would take to become pregnant and the prepaid were stacking up. Now there is no way that I would ever give my money to Massage Envy again. I have also referred 5 new clients to the Apex location which 3 of them bought memberships and the others visit a few times a year. I hope that the Apex store enjoys the 2 messages they were able to rob me of due to my loyalty to that location. read more

I wanted to give Massage Envy of Apex a try, so I made an appointment for 10:00am scheduled for the next day. After making the appointment, I reconsidered the 12 month contract for "discounted rates" that night and discovered alternative massage practices which do not require a 12 month contract and are even more affordable. I recalled the receptionist who booked the appointment state "there will be a charge for no-show appointments." I called Massage Envy as soon as they opened, which happened to be when my appointment was scheduled to cancel, and remove my card off file. Upon this request, I was told I would be charged 50% of the cost for cancelling the day of the appointment. I was then asked for my reasoning, and being honest, I expressed I wanted to hold off and explore my treatment options. They said if I told them I was "sick or had an emergency" there would be no charge. The lesson in all of this folks, is don't tell the truth to these folks if you want to cancel an appointment, and that they would rather keep $27.50 then regain your loyalty as a potential long term client. I encourage others to do business where you feel more valued. Their refusal to waive a $27.50 charge for cancelling an initial appointment the day of an appointment is truly sad for such a large corporation. I felt misled due to being told I would be charged for a "no-show", rather than a same day cancellation. I tried in good faith to cancel and avoid any charges and taking up appointment time but am being told I will get charged $27.50 anyway. read more

I LOVE coming to this Massage Envy. The front desk girls are always super sweet and inviting. I've been seeing Christine McGee the past couples times and she is amazing! Great with deep tissue, always giving me my full time, even when she's running behind. I've seen a lot of negative reviews about Massage Envy in general and honestly I don't understand why. They're a business, so you can't shun them for trying to make money. The membership agreement you sign is a legal document and it was thoroughly described to me when I signed up. I also was given a copy to take home with me. As I've seen/heard the front desk do with other new members. Definitely give this place a chance before you write it off based on reviews. I am disgusted with this Massage Envy. If all Massage Envy locations operated like this, they would be bankrupt. I received an awful massage from a therapist who complained about his life and the management of the company for the duration of my massage. I complained to management about it later. When I spoke to the lady at the front desk who answered the call, she apologized and gave me "points" to use later. Later, the Manager (Chris) informed me he is friends with the therapist I was complaining about and excused his behavior. Chis then gave me a gift certificate from the therapist to use at any time. I told Chris I would not be returning to get massages at that location. However, being they do facials, and currently the one I go to does not, I would come back for a facial. Today I called and tried to make an appointment and the lady who answered the phone said there were no points. 7 hours later Chris (the manager) called me and said he took the points off of my account because he didn't think I ever wanted to come back. I told him that if thats how they are going to operate, him specifically, I would take ALL of my business elsewhere. I then made my appointment for my ENTIRE bridal party at the Southpoint location in Durham. I feel like I just lived a mini scene from Pretty Woman. I had an awful experience at this Massage Envy. I got a gift card and went to use it for a massage. I told the massage therapist the type of massage I wanted and the areas I need focused on and she did not do any of it. She never explained the areas to be massaged, she started my legs without notice and it was very uncomfortable. When I was leaving the lady at the front desk tried to get me to do a membership, she told me about it and not until the end of our conversation she told me it had to paid in full. That would have been nice to start off with instead of trying to hide it After I told her I did not want the membership she gave me the rudest look and hardly spoke to me while checking out. I emailed the manager about the situation and she emailed me back with a very bland response, pretty much insinuating that she did not care. It was very disappointing.
