All my appointments get canceled because staff call out. It's so frustrating when I plan my day around a service and they have no service providers and I can't get the services I want. Massage Envy is located in a busy strip mall in between chipotle and total wine. This location has a lot of traffic but plenty of massage therapist for your needs. I recently joined on a six month subscription to take advantage of the special offer. I have to say I was not impressed with my first therapist however, after changing to someone else, I have been very happy with Vanessa L. her quality and experience level has truly helped me and I'm glad that I landed with someone that truly knows what they're doing. My overall experience honestly has been OK. I'm not happy with the subscription that I was sold on as I feel. I was kind of taken advantage of and misled with charges. However, the consistent monthly fee has been correct and I've been able to get in with the therapist that I like. The establishment is very welcoming and clean. I can't say the front desk ladies are always friendly. It just depends on the day but overall it's a hit or miss. They offer other services such as facials and stretching, but I've only experienced the massages. Rooms are very well kept with a warming bed if needed. You can upgrade to longer massages as well as different types of techniques or lotions. I have to say what I am impressed by is if you don't like your therapist, you can switch to someone else until you find somebody you like. I want to start with the positives - my experience at itself was very good. When I walked in the ladies at the front desk were very friendly and greeted me promptly. The area was clean and smelled delightful, I felt instant relaxation. My massage itself was awesome. Franklin did a great job working through my knots. I paid 80$ for a 60 minute massage and even tipped on top of that. it wasn't until I got in my car and was leaving that I realized my massage was only actually 40 minutes long . they brought me back at 7 PM and I did not see the time until I got in my car at 742pm. Still No response from management. I've been a member for quite possibly 15 years now. I love this massage envy. Usually no issues but I chose a different massage therapist for May 19th, 2025, named Julian who was very inexperienced. To start, He wasn't happy about doing custom massage for 90min (I requested all upper body this time). He started with shoulders, which was good. But from there massaged my arms leaving massive amounts of bruising (not normal for firm/deep if you know what you're doing). These bruises are on the insides of my arms. Pictures attached. From there he worked on my back but many times during my back massage he dig his elbow directly in my spine (while also resting his other arm on the back of my neck) and when I said whoa, he said whoops I guess that would hurt but then did it several other times. This told me he wasn't paying attention nor experienced. Please look into this. She asked me if I take epsom salt baths and then began giving me the most random details of epsom salt. This continued for the full hour, with more random questions. The massage itself was maybe a 5 out of 10. She actually slapped the bottom of my feet, as if to give them a "High 5." What the heck is the theraputic value in a single slap of my foot? The dude at the front was quite understanding when I told him all of this he did not charge me for the massage. This may have been one of the worst massage experiences of my life. read more

First I've never been in a Massage Envy before this. I went in with a $20 off card that I received with a gift card for a massage as a Christmas gift. There were 6 people getting ready for the evening rush and every one of them gave an enthusiastic and friendly greeting. They all assisted to help me find the perfect item and I ended up with a CBD Balm for my shoulder and neck. I have a long 30+ hour drive coming up and it can be brutal on my shoulders and neck. I tried it tonight and it's gently heating so I predict it will bring relief. Every one of the people who were there knew up front I was not spending any money on a service with them and it did not dampen their helpfulness or their enthusiasm even a a little bit. Had the oddest experience here my last visit earlier this year. I felt extremely uncomfortable with my female masseuse who had the most inappropriate conversation with me during my 60 minute session. I felt I needed to remain calm through the entire thing otherwise she would react violently; that's how bad it was. I was in such a rush to leave that I lied to the front desk when they asked how my experience was just so I can get out of there. I felt I needed to leave a tip as well and refrained from leaving this review because I was afraid she was going to retaliate and find my information in their system. She talked to me about how she can feel my energy and told me stories of demonic presences in her past. And this wasn't even the worst of the conversation. This was an unfortunate experience since it was my first time at massage envy, i was very excited since i got this as a birthday gift but the lady i got was quite interesting. First she asked me what i wanted and i explained to her that i wanted upper body mostly because my traps are super tense and asked if i wanted my legs done too so I said sure! Then she proceeded to ask me "so do you want a full body or not? And i was like i mean i want my traps to be the main focus so 40 minutes up here and 10 minutes finish off my legs. She responded with "its a yes or a no question honey" which was in a passive aggressive tone. Then she proceeded to talk throughout the entire massage asking me what i do for work, where im from, to soften up and that i was too stiff (exactly why im getting a massage here), and then decided to go into politics and talking about our president.... i am so sorry but this was the worst experience i have ever had. Had to ask to lower the pressure with her elbow mind you, elbows are too harsh, i wanted hands not elbows!! If I could leave negative stars I would. For reference I had a 60min massage booked (6:30-7:30) . I got there early since it was my first time and somehow the service didn't start until about 6:46ish, I figured the time would be extended since it started late. When the masseuse said my time was over I looked at the clock and it was 7:21. Not only did we start late but she couldn't even go until the full time. The room was freezing and every time a body part was taken out of the cover I had goosebumps immediately. After the massage I went to leave a tip which I shouldn't even have in the first place but the guy at the front desk said two numbers I believe they were $6 and $15 or he said he can do something in between so I said something in between. I thought when he read it back to me he said is $12 okay but when I looked at my receipt in the car it was a $20 tip. I am unsure how $20 was between those two numbers so I was very upset about that. The lady at the front assured me 80 minutes of hands on time and 10 minutes of consultation. I don't care how this shakes out. There's no way I received 80 minutes of hands on time. If I didn't love my massage therapist at this location I'd stop getting massage here elsewhere.. The front desk is hit or miss in customer service. I received a text yesterday for a mid day appointment on Thursday. I immediately called to let them know there was a mix up. I get a massage every three weeks on a weekend day not week day in the afternoon. And Cecilia replies "you mean the session you booked on Sunday"? I said what do you mean and she replied "you were in last Sunday for a massage and booked a massage for Thursday at noon." I said, that is why I am calling. I did not book it. If you look at my massage schedule I don't book during the week. And she says "ok, I'll cancel the appointment you booked." I said "You know, it is possible that the front desk made the error". And your reply could have been "It does look like it's a mix up. Let's get you taken care of and thank you for letting us know". She says "ok, I'll cancel the appointment we made by mistake" but with a real snarky tone. I asked to talk to the Manager who of course was not available. I asked her to confirm she cancelled the appointment. She said yes and ends the call with "Have a nice day". Serious? She is in a customer facing position. With the performative way ME handled the situation, I was initially impressed enough to stay. Well, I seemed to have been misled by their shady tactics. It has been a month since the incident and I went to book with a therapist I absolutely loved...only to see the one I had issue with is back! And on the same day as the one I went to book with. I've tried to call to speak with someone about this but my calls haven't been returned. It goes to show how much Massage Envy does not care about their customers or their quality of service. I've never received a worse massage in my life and they are really out here okay with offering their customers terrible massages by questionable people. I've been a member of Massage Envy and have used services in AZ and out of state. In my 15+ years as a member, I have visited the Camelback location once for a facial and twice for a massage. I requested someone who could provide moderate to deep tissue services. Sebastian was my massage therapist for a 1.5 hr session. He was a consummate professional: he asked for specifics to customize the massage and we started. He was very respectful, balanced in his practice and deftly used his forearms and elbows (amazing for the scapula), and when requesting lighter or deeper pressure he followed through. Sebastian (and Jake, no longer with ME) provided me with the best customer service and professional practice that I've had, including high end resorts.
