The experience was AMAZING!!! I was a little hesitant about using this particular location because of previous reviews but it's 2 blocks from my home. I brought 2 guests plus myself as a birthday gift/ relaxing day & we all enjoyed our massages immensely. So much that 1 of my guests signed up for the monthly massage packet. BEWARE OF SIGNING A CONTRACT WITH MASSAGE ENVY!!! I asked the sales associate if I could cancel anytime and she said yes. I went to cancel a few months later because I could no longer afford the service and the associate said you cannot cancel for a year unless you're disabled or move 25 miles away from a massage envy. When I asked to speak with a manager because the previous sales associate had mislead me and said I could cancel anytime with no strings attached, the sales associate said there was no manager. When I asked for the corporate number they said they did not have a corporate phone number. This company has horrible service And now I am stuck with them for a year!! read more

I highly suggest him--and know that his appointments fill up quickly, as he is in high demand! David W. is very knowledgable, as I go in for deep tissue sports massages, he understands the stress on my muscles and knows how to work things out. He uses the allotted time for the appointment well, focusing on your key points, as well as fulfilling the rest of the body. She is a fantastic deep tissue/sports massage therapist. I have seen her regularly for years now (while running longer distance (60 miles a week) and while injured (sciatica, SI issues, PF)). She knows how to target your issues and get in there and get them resolved quickly. She has really helped me get out of some pretty painful situations. I am a member and go to the Tempe location on a regular basis. I wanted to give a friend a gift of a massage at the Camelback location. When I called there, they were extremely rude; did not help me; and told me to just "go to the website". Even though i was a member, I was charged the full rate; but what really made me irate was when my friend went in to the Camelback location to get her massage, she was treated with the exact same rudeness that I had experienced from the front staff. Although her massage was good, the treatment by the staff was so disgraceful that it ruined her entire experience. I'd like to know the name of the owner of this location, and manager, so they will change the way they do things. At this point, I would not recommend anyone EVER GO THERE. I have been a member at the Camelback Massage Envy location for over 11 years, and have always been satisified with my membership and the services provided. Until NOW... A recent corporate price increase of over 62%($39.99 to $65.00) has caused me to become extremely upset. Over the last 11 years my membership along with my partner's has been considered a "legacy" and thus not subject to price increases over the years. Now, I am faced with this increase due to employee errors that will ultimately cost me. To cover an error made in 2009, an employee cancelled and re-instated my membership - and therefore losing my legacy status. A recent audit by corporate has revealed this and therefore I am subject to price increases since I am not protected by the legacy status. The errror was made when my mother who has the same name as I do cancelled her account in 2009. Apparently the front desk cancelled my account by accident and rather than reversing the error - they made me an add-on member to my partner's membership. There was no notification to me about the change. As such, my legacy status was lost. This situation only came to light with an audit done by corporate in effort to raise prices on as many members as possible. I am now one of those members. I was notified a week ago that my monthly membership fee was being increased to $65.00. Though Massage Envy admits that this is their error they have no ability to keep me at legacy status due to their computer's limitations. I have complained locally, to the area director and have asked to speak to owners. Multiple offers have been floated out there but ultimately, corporate is not willing to correct their error. I have been told I must sign an contract today to accept the current rate of $49.99/ mo for a year to delay the $65/mo dollar charge for one year. So under extreme duress I will sign the contract but feel coerced and pushed into a corner with no options. I am unwilling to cancel my membership because my partner has been retained as a legacy member and really enjoys her massages and enjoys that we go together to Massage Envy on Camelback. It is very unfortunate that after having congruent accounts with my partner and a loyal member of Massage Envy for eleven years, that I am now faced with this mess. It is sad that corporate is putting the dollar ahead of customer loyalty. read more

I'm over the Massage Envy thing as I canceled my membership this month, But before I go, I have to give a major should out Mercedes who is by far my very most favorite therapist at this location. She has helped me through 2 pregnancies and I am so grateful to her for that. Her pressure is perfect, her movements somehow just feel better than anyone else and she really listens to what you need. Sometimes she even identifies what I need that I didn't even know and she is dead on. My only negative feedback is that we always seem to start a little late, but I keep going back to her because I would rather miss out on a few minutes of a 50 minute/90 minutes massage than go to anyone else. I tried FOUR different massage therapists at Massage Envy on camelback , in Phoenix and was not happy with any of them !!! One lady talked so much and I don't mind that but she stops massaging when she talks. The very last try was a guy tonight and it was the worst yet !!! I told him to do my jaw , arms and shoulders and he did not do any thing I requested. And they advertise a ONE hour massage when it is truly just 40 minutes. I left there disappointed every time I went there . Very discouraging and very disappointing !!! I wasted alot of money. I joined but I will not be going back there any more. While it is hit or moss with the masseuse you get, and this isn't a review of them per say (although they did range from one star to three at best- and then when booking the second appointment with the good one they talk your ear off because they're soooo bored), the whole experience is definitely lackluster. Massage Envy is the Supercuts of the massage world. Really. I got lured into their "39$ a massage deal" like many others have before. Well...then you can't cancel unless it's in writing 30 days prior, and can't use the massages past the date of cancelation. The last 30 days of my membership I was cramming massages in left and right, but the whole experience is the opposite of relaxing, so those 20 days were just more stressful than anything else. I waited two months, saved up my money and went to Desert Song, where for a little more but no contract you can get a genuine massage. One with a person who is clued into what you need, experienced, and actually makes you feel better. read more

Due to no fault of our own this location arbitrarily moved massage sessions from my wife's account to mine leaving her with no sessions. We are married with separate billing accounts. The transfer of sessions was never authorized. But ok you made a mistake, just correct it and move on... Not that easy at this location with poor General Management and even worse Front Desk Supervision. So today my wife was forced to pay for her session and then I was called to ask for updated payment on my account. I until today was still considering my options for either continuing my membership or cancelling it due to the poor customer service we already experienced. My wife had been a member for many years and referred me. Since then you have raised dues and instead of honoring her original price you raised her rate but didn't raise mine. This alone was enough to make me question the value you place on long term committed members but after my phone encounter with the GM and Micha, I can say that my decision was easily made that I would not continue to do business with any organization that teats members the way your GM and Micha did today. The General Manager was not only rude but very abrasive - he was not open to understanding that his team did something that they should not have done since my wife and I never authorized anyone to "share" sessions without the others consent. One would think that he would not only apologize but then take the burden off of us as the client and deal with his team behind the scenes. Not this guy. He got overly combative and condescending. He insinuated that we were trying to get over on them when in reality all we wanted was our accounts to be corrected and my wife to be refunded her money that was not due in the first place. Finally, after verbally attacking me he agreed to reconcile the accounts and refund my wife's charge for today, then proceed to tell me he would cancel my account for me and just before hanging up on me told me "have a merry Christmas," thanks but I don't even celebrate Christmas. I see others have commented on the customer service at this location and little has changed - clearly the owners are not that concerned with losing a couple members a month... read more

So excited to go in today to get a massage and relax but I ended up pretty disappointed. First at the front desk no one could really help me they were too worried about the display on the counter. I will say though when I was helped Jennifer was very nice and attentive. However I had a question and Alissa was pretty rude to me. As for the massage it was good, but I'm pretty sure that my girl was sick due to her coughing and sniffling the whole time. And I thought I paid $78 for a hour massage but it only lasted 40 minutes. Do Not Sign Up for a Massage Envy Membership I enrolled with Massage Envy October 2014 on what I was told a "trial" basis. The sales girl I talked to approached me after a massage, told me about the discounts if I joined the membership. I told her that a membership would not be beneficial to me since I travel a lot and not sure if I would use Massage Envy all the time. She told me I can 'try' it out by signing up and cancel whenever I wanted. Although I reviewed the membership paperwork with her, she said that management always makes exceptions and that cancellations are easy to do in the case I was not happy with the services after I gave it a try for a couple months. Well, I was not happy with Massage Envy services. It was too hard to book any appointments in other cities, they were too far from where I would be staying and the times I did go in for an appointment- I felt cattle herded and it was not pleasant. I wanted a more relaxing experience. All of this information was relayed to the Massage Envy Camelback manager, Siouxy Luna. She was kind enough to offer me more services but I declined and told her that I wanted to end my membership. She cancelled my membership and through an email said " I unfortunately will not be able to give you a refund for the one payment that did go through." I had a verbal conversation with Ms. Luna about the additional charge of $59.99 and she said I had one year to use up that extra massage paid for $59.99. I told her that I was fine about the $59.99 payment and I would use the massage that I already paid for. I went to make an appointment last week on March 26, 2015 and they told me that I did not have any credit. I have since spoke with Alyssa, another manager at Massage Envy Camelback and she told me I was mistaken and my payment of $59.99 at Massage Envy is no longer valid. I asked her why Massage Envy would take $59.99 of my money and not give me any services, and she told me that she cannot break policy. Alyssa did not take responsibility for Siouxy Luna's actions. I am not understanding why Massage Envy is not honoring my payment of $59.99. Is Massage Envy comfortable with taking $59.99 from customers and not giving them service? It is not like I am asking for a free massage. I already paid $59.99. All I am asking for Massage Envy to honor my payment of $59.99 or Massage Envy to refund me $59.99. It is not right to take money from people and not give them service or goods in exchange. read more

I got my membership thru a gift card. Ive been extremely happy with my massage therapist Kandi. She is always prompt. Professional & gives a great massage. there's a lot of people that go through there & a little more attention to the bathrooms is needed. They are a little weird about the memberships. It would be much more professional if there was an area to discuss them in as well as the consultation that should be in a private area. . Clear and concise wording to the contracts Would be greatly beneficial. although I love going and getting a massage I will not purchase a membership. I will probably just cut down on how often I go and pay the non membership fee. The customer service at the front desk requires a little tweaking I have seen some inappropriate actions between coworkers & how staff is treated. when management treats the people who are the support staff badly and in front of customers, thats a big red flag for me. Finally found a fantastic massage therapist "Hail David" king of the "white collar wonder" a 90 minute massage for people who work at a desk all day . This massage is for those of us who sit all day hunched over a keyboard, who work 50+ hours and deal with high stress. David targets the neck first, I mean really works out knots and stretches out all those tight muscles. It's truly amazing! then it's a pretty deep rub down "flushing" strokes that feel incredible, increasing blood flow and loosening the tension build up. next I got the best foot massage I've ever had, my poor feet suffer stupid stylish shoe all week. Then the back! David got right to the my tight "traps" and down my back almost enough to make me "yelp" but even hours later I feel so releaved. I'm so delighted and so grateful he is at this location! I booked 3 more sessions in 8 weeks. I can tell I'm going to feel so much better at work, less headaches and less dragging myself to the office. Thank you David! read more

As I'm sitting down to type this review, I'm realizing I need to book my appointments for the foreseeable future, because if I can't get in with Lori Ann I will be devastated. This woman is AMAZING. My job is physically taxing at times (I work with babies so I am always leaning over cribs, picking up infants from the floor etc) and I was having some terrible mid back pain one day. I knew a massage would help even if it wasn't the best I ever received, so I booked my first appointment at this location. Lori Ann had a cancellation and was able to get me in, and I am SO glad she did. I had the best massage of my LIFE that day, and booked with her for the following week. I held off on my review because I wanted more than one experience before recommending her. Fast forward to the next week. I had a migraine that had taken me out of work for 2 days. None of my medications, ice, sleep, or oils were working. I dragged myself to my massage and Lori Ann knew immediately that I wasn't feeling well. She turned the lights all the way down and turned down her normal chatty demeanor since she knew that I needed some quiet (I normally love talking with her!). Again, that massage changed my life. Within 10 minutes I felt better, and here I am 3 days later, still totally headache free. She is the best massage therapist I have ever visited, and I am going to be so sad when I move out of state and can't take her with me. If you can get in with her, don't hesitate!! I went with my mother as a present. When my mother got her massage the masseuse, Daisy, requested that my mother give her the necklace she was wearing. At the end of the massage, the necklace went missing. Supposedly it was left on the table, but the necklace was not there after the massage. We were told they would mail it, if they found it. I usually go to the Tempe marketplace or Arcadia location. But they didn't have any available time slots so I made an appointment for me and my boyfriend to get a couples massage at the camelback location. Further drive but I thought eh it will be Worth it. The front desk agent was friendly and helpful and we went in on Sunday super excited for a relaxing massage TOGETHER. Only problem was that they don't have a couples room at that location!! I was very clear when booking that we were doing a couples massage And the front desk guy happily booked it without informing me that that wasn't even a possibility. The massage was ok. But it was hard to relax because I was frustrated that they messed up our reservations and I never got my much needed down time with my boyfriend. I will definitely reconsider coming back to this location... And might even end up cancelling me and my boyfriends memberships. read more
