Visiting Massage Envy on a regular basis has allowed me to get back to a regular active routine without having to rely on medicine to cover up the pain that I was experiencing. I have worked with a variety of therapists at Massage Envy Cedar Hill and have great things to say about all of them. Each one of them really take great pride in servicing their clients and ensuring each client is satisfied with the service. The front desk staff were just as amazing. They made sure that everything went smooth. For as busy as this location is, it is awesome to witness how relaxed the front desk is when there are as many as 8-10 people checking in or out. The first massage I received after signing up for the yearly contract was awful! The next month I requested someone else, and it was like a 5 year old slapping lotion on me and she smelled so bad! And rude, sat I a roller chair the entire time and rolled around me pumping lotion on me. GROSS! She also shorted me 20 minutes out of my hour, and did the management do anything! I have been a member for over 6 years at the Arlington location. I live in Cedar Hill and had an additional massage at this location. The massage therapist was Arla and she was great. She used the perfect pressure. The place was nice and clean. The decor was great. Someone left hair in the sink. I suggest that's checked more often. I would also recommend bottled water not that little cup. It was a great massage. I will return to this location again for Arla, in fact I scheduled a facial and massage for my husband. read more

I've been with Massage Envy a few years now, signed up at the Cedar Hill location and I really like the company. I've been to several locations and have had some wonderful experiences. The uptown Cedar Hill location, has always been a bad experience. If you can try a different location, I would do it. They always rude and accused of me not paying by chasing me down the street to only reason I did pay.... it's very low class service they give you. Don't go here go to another massage envy. Please be careful with this establishment..... Owner called to straighten out dispute. Evidently, dates on my paperwork didn't match what I was told when signing cancel forms. I believed the employee helping me. Legally, I signed a form that had different dates than what was verbally be told to me. I suggested she pull camera and audio from that day but she didn't acknowledge either way if she would or not. It became clear that the notes the employees keep in the system do not match the actual phone messages they leave. I will keep all my voicemails from them in case owner would like to refer to them. Owner made offer to re-establish membership for 30 days so I could use the remainder of my unused massages if I signed paperwork and paid the monthly fee. Accepted the offer. I received another phone call during dinner with her screaming at me about my "scathing" social media review (that I had made prior to her calling me the first time) was told be that she wouldn't complete the offer due to it. Not surprised . Bottom line ......... Look closely at the small print. Make sure you know the cancellation policies and all details, if a staff member tells you something make sure the paperwork matches. Added a star because I appreciated the manager (I had to ask to speak with the owner) calling back to try to explain what had happened. However, I still feel that I wasn't treated in a professional and honest manner. Legally, they didn't not have to offer me the remainder of my massages. I totally understand this NIOW. However, i was treated with a healthy dose of details that didn't match the voicemails from them which makes me question their system and integrity. Please know that all the relaxation you gain from your membership can be wiped out by a staff and owner once you decide to cancel. I have never written a negative review on social media. I don't plan to in the future. I completely understand that there are times when disputes happen, But the greatness of a business lies in the ability of the owner to truly listen and make things right. Ps.... Please sync the clock in the "relaxation room" with the notes in your system and with employee's watches . I am sorry that I didn't know there was a discrepancy between them. PSS.... Your clients don't always have time to have their session go later to make up for the session beginning later. I recently realized you can only review this place once, so I am editing my review. Although there is one massage therapist and one esthetician that I use exclusively, the rest of the experience is deplorable. Terry is always a pleasure. I have been her client since ME came to Cedar Hill. If she's not available, I wait. Her technique is sound and soothing and I always feel better when I leave. She is a consummate professional and over the years I have come to see her as a friend. I recommend her to all my friends. So, my last massage was as good as my first. She's the best! Sonja is also an excellent facialist. However, the admin staff could use good solid training. The notification system and their ability to consistently employ it is abominable. They have a problem notifying you of upcoming appointments, but not if you're missing one or being late for one---and quick to tell you you'll have to pay if you miss. The front desk turnover provides no customer service consistency. They often get appointments wrong and have a thousand excuses when they do. The five stars are for the two service people I use. The business overall deserves a half star at best. Since this is the flagship store of several for the owners, I suggest they ensure it is shipshape, because your flag is sagging. read more

On 2/27/21 I was in for my monthly massage (I currently have a membership). Upon completion, I scheduled my appointment for March. When I signed up for the membership I received a monthly coupon book for 2021. The coupon for March was a for a 30min Facial Upgrade-or any 30min upgrade only if facial services are not available at location. I presented my coupon and asked if they offered facials and the front desk attendant said no we do not offer facials, but it says you can upgrade to an additional 30min. Would you like to upgrade? I said yes and made my appointment. Fast forward to today, 3/26/21. I show up for my appointment and present my coupon only to be told "ma'am this is for a facial". I explained the conversation I had back in February and was met, by ALL THREE front desk attendance, with the look that implied I was lying. I down graded my massage from 90min to 60min. When my massage was over, I asked to speak with the manager. When she came to the front, the other attendants stood by her side like a backup crew, which came across very confrontational, like how dare you challenge what we said. She basically gave me the same look and said "sorry we do offer facials so you can't use this coupon for a massage upgrade. I don't think we had an Esthetician at that time but we do now." Up until today, my interaction with the front desk had been pleasant. Very disappointed in the management and how they handle this matter. In speaking to the manager, I wasn't looking for anything free, just an acknowledgment of their error and that going forward they would ensure their team is aware of all services provided. Today, my debit card was charged for another appointment that I never made. Be careful with giving your debit info as it stays in their system even though you are not a member. I have been trying to get into this business for months know. When i finally go through on Friday they said they didn't have anything so they put our name on the list for cancelations. I called and check they didn't have couple opening but a 4:30 and a 7:30 said that was fine. Then I ask if we had a membership I said no. My boss scheduled an appt for me and my coworker since she had extra points and whatnot. It was my first time, the place is pretty nice and quiet. Once I started getting my massage, the only thing I felt was elbows. The lady was literally just elbowing my back, shoulders and neck. I would give 5 stars to the staff except for one area. I always receive a warm welcome, and Arla and Spencer are both very professional and I believe quite good at their specialties. I have been getting a 90 minute massages from Arla each week for over a month now, that increased my activity level and my moods due to being out of pain. She seems to have an intuitive touch. Spencer makes great recommendations for products that have improved my skin right before my daughter's wedding and he has a great personality besides knowing the skin. My only complaint is that their computer system must be somewhat difficult for the staff to navigate because each visit has taken some time to get in and out. While the staff is very polite trying to help me quickly, they seem to struggle understanding what to do with the particular kind of purchase I am making. Whether it is the usual massage with facial products added to it or something like a massage and then I add on the Father's Day special they are offering and suddenly, someone doesn't know how to total up everything for me. First impression was good but I was naive. I signed up for a membership because I was having issues with my back, I thought it was just from working on my feet so much (I'm a waitress). I later found out it was more serious health issues and per doctors orders I was told not to get massages anymore while receiving treatment and when I told massage Envy that I had health issues that prevented me from using their services I was told to provide proof, which I did. After this is said and done I have 4 paid for but unused session and am now being told I have to pay more money in order for me to allow someone else to use the 1 hour sessions that iv already paid for ($260 worth of massages). I do not live close but thought I could make it once a month to get a massage so I signed up and of course you have to do a year contract well I couldnt make it and they just continued to build up. I called to cancel and they said I had 30 days to use the remaining 6 sessions. Well If I could use them in a year how the heck can I use them in 30 days. So I tried I got it down to 3 sessions so I called and asked If I could extend it another 30 days so I wouldnt loose that money I had already paid and I was told NO sorry you will loose them in 5 days. received a call from Massage Envy at 10:27 a.m. this morning stating I had an appointment today at 10 a.m. I informed them I was not aware and I did not receive a call the day before to confirm. I was told a call was placed but it the phone was busy... I would think it would have attempted or been prompt to call back if this was the case. After discussing with the Manager she informs me this was a courtesy call and they still expect the appointment to proceed if not cancelled and I will be charged for the hour and a half massage. I completely understand about policies however if I was not aware of an appointment for today!!! Previously I loved my experience at this location however within the last month that has changed due to the recent event and I will be cancelling my membership. My suggestions for Massage Envy if your automated service states the call was placed but it was busy have it to try again or have on of your employees to follow up. Don't go to this location. Terrible service and they like to charge for services they didnt even provide. I booked an appointment for my mother to get a deep tissue massage and a foot scrub for her birthday. I took her, paid for everything so she wouldn't have to worry about anything and my sister picked her up. When I got home I asked about her massage and she said the deep tissue massage was very disappointing, they don't massage you the full hour and it felt like she was just rubbing the oil on her. Horrible service. I scheduled a massage and someone from the store call me at the last minute to tell me the therapist did not show. I was upset but things happend. I call again to reschedule and they told me I did not have a massage because I did not show for the previous massage. I called the store to cancel my contract and they said I would have to come in and do it because it automatically renews. When I got to the store the front rep told me I have to do it 30 days before the last payment. I specifically called about cancelling last month and they didn't say that. She was not friendly and I got a bad vibe over whole experience so I left. Manager called me to question the experience and told me they were charging me $50 for 'cancelling same day'. I had a disappointing experience on December 22, 2016. The Deep Body massage was great but when I was leaving, I was told that my appointment was only for 30 minutes and I received the message for 1 hr. I was a member and I was called earlier the previous week reminding me that I had 1 session left. The person I spoke with stated that it was for an hour. After i was done, the receptionist told me that I owed for 30 minutes. Mind you, I had already paid the $55.00. I will not be going back there.
