I used to have a membership during a tough pregnancy and had a great masseuse for that. However, yesterday I arrived for my 90 min massage with a new masseuse after getting fit in last minute (so exciting because there USED to be a time limit during prenatal massages) my husband booked it for me for Mother's Day. I arrived on time at 3pm. Got checked in and confirmed with masseuse it was a 90min massage. Got in room by 3:07. Proceeded to wait 10-15 min before masseuse came back in. No big deal everyone deserves a break!! Now for the experience. Room was lit the entire time. Pressure was communicated and reciprocated properly. However, for a good 30min straight she massaged in the exact same spot, into my lower back rib. My back is on fire today. It wasn't the pressure, it was the consistency which is strange for a massage. Now after the back was done I was flipped over and it was a speed race for another 30min on the rest of the body. And then the massage ended at 4:28pm. My masseuse exited and then was no where to be seen. No greeting, no water, no checking in, strange. I went to the front desk and mentioned the time while not complaining about the rest because I understand people have bad days. But when I got home I realized after many massages this one was so below standard. My husband and I were both pretty disappointed, him probably more than me that it wasn't an ideal gift. The front desk offered to make it right by invoicing for a 60min massage instead. And then tried to push for me to restart my membership after such an odd unprofessional experience. We still have not gotten the refund back could take a couple of days. Overall it was the least relaxing massage of my life from someone who has gotten many. I will not be back to this location.

What I mean by that is this is not the Red Door Spa of the late 80s. However, the work that is done here is incredibly well done. They clearly make every attempt at ambience with spa music and keeping things mostly quiet or hushed, although I'm not going to deny that the rooms are "curtained" rooms (areas sectioned off by curtains). Nonetheless, there's perfect privacy within those. Can you hear other things happening around? Yes you can. But I have to tell you that that did not bother me one bit. If you're looking for some exclusive situation, they do apparently have private rooms. Whether or not they are soundproof, I cannot attest to. However, the work that was done while I was on that table was terrific! The woman who worked with me was Yo Yo and she was utterly fantastic. From the time that I arrived until I walked out the door--which Yo Yo opened and held open for me out of courtesy-- I was pampered. I was escorted to the back, given a robe/drape, given a few moments alone to undress from waist up as I was partaking in the 60 minute head spa. Yo-yo checked with me before coming back into the space and then assisted me (not that I really needed it) with getting on the table so that I was positioned correctly. She was gentle. She was smiling. She was quiet mostly, but did stop to ask questions (water temp, pressure of massage, etc.). She began her work, which started with a dry run through of the hair with various tools. If you've seen the videos on social media that keep popping up for head spa you have the general idea of what I mean when I say the tools that they use. I was there on that table for an hour. I had a mini facial. My head was massaged multiple times both dry and shampooed (twice). I had my neck massaged, my upper chest, my upper back and then all the way down my arms to my hands. It was wonderful. I have no complaints whatsoever. The products that were used were very light in their scent, but pleasant nonetheless and they were not greasy. The steam and whatever conditioner that is on my hair has made my hair so shiny and soft. I have processed hair. My hair has not been this soft since prior to bleaching/coloring. I cannot say enough good things about this experience. I expected sort of what I saw on the social media postings by various other "spas" and that's exactly what I got and more. Yo-yo met me out at the table where there was the hair dryer (and a snack and bottle of water) and blew out my hair a little bit. Was it styled? No. That's not what she's there to do. I walked out with dry hair. I don't have a problem with that. I kept a hat in the car and a clip to put it in an updo if it didn't look manageable. It looked fine. I was 100% satisfied. I hope that if you're reading this review, you have the same type of experience. I thought it was worth every penny and I will be going back again.

I didn't mind that--I figured, okay, her time is her time and my time is mine. I was quite pleased. I called to make an appointment and my call was returned promptly. It's located inside the Sports Club. Don't let the location deter you. The building has gone through a few owners and is currently for sale. When I arrived it was early and there was no receptionist downstairs. If that happens to you, just walk up to the second level. The area is open and well kept. Kristin immediately greeted me. Arrive a few minutes early to fill out your paperwork. The massage room is appropriately lit with low music. The massage was great. Perfect pressure. She focused on the areas that I indicated that I was having issues. My only item is a fan that was in the corner which made the room a bit cool.
