Terrible client service by staff and management. I paid 9 months worth of services, since I wasn't using it, I called to cancel my membership twice, I even submitted the cancellation and they still wanted to charge me 2 months. They said they received my cancellation notice but couldn't process it because my account was under suspension. This location, does not care at all about a client, let alone good paying client. They just care about the money. I just spoke with Brittany and she hung up on me. Terrible service all around, I am not one to put bad reviews, but this location deserves it. I go to Stretch Zone for therapy, but because I moved, the Franchisee near my new home did not honor my contract with the old location. I go to ME on 107th and have had very good results with there therapists. They have a high turn over rate, but besides that, pretty good massages. I booked a Stretch to see if they could now do this type of therapy for me. I was told the therapist speaks English as my Spanish is very bad unfortunately and was very good at it. I Get there and find out she speaks only Spanish Fluently.... this is very difficult because the therapist and the patient definitely need to communicate to each other if stretching too far or if pain is occurring, because you can get hurt that way. But she was a nice person so I tried as best I could to communicate. About 10 minutes in I found that she really lacked experience and the communication level was terrible, so I told her to stop and went to the front desk to discuss the situation. Guess I have to pay the new prices and go back to my local Stretch Zone as I just don't want to experience taking the time off from work and wasting my time again. read more

Would have helped to know prior to procedure not when I am on the table and prepped. 2. DO NOT expect results on first chemical peel... it takes several for effect, according to Manager Claudia. I was not aware or informed. Upsetting especially as "everyone knows you cannot expect results with one treatment" according to the manager Claudia. The chemical peel and cream applied to my neck cost me a total of $ 220 for zero results. Be aware! 3. Prices on line are not correct due to computer glitches over which Manager has no control! 4. Had a male massage therapist who I had used many times. He gave me what I feel was a very inappropriate massage where he removed the sheet as he was massaging my lower body. I was wearing a thong and was completely exposed. I asked him to cover me which he did quickly but then uncovered me again later. I am totally dissatisfied with this location of Massage Envy. A representative Gaby called me late in the morning to see if I wanted a service. I had no intention to get a service that day but because she called I went ahead with a 90-minute massage for the same day. The 90-minute massage is all they had available. Unfortunately, I could not make it to the appointment as there was a thunderstorm. I was watching the weather hoping it would change but it didn't , while I was waiting they called me to say I was late for the appointment . I asked if I could reschedule and instead was informed that I had to pay for the 90-minute massage. I thought this was quite unfair. I will never go back. I paid for a 1 hour massage but only received about 45 mins. The massage tech did a whole body massage and did not focus on the areas I complained of, on top of cutting it short, but the massage was decent. The staff was more concerned with selling me a membership which I clearly expressed I had no interest in, than with my satisfaction with their services. After being a not so valued customer of Massage Envy's East Kendall office for approximately the last five years, today I was very disappointed to have to cancel my membership. Over the last six weeks I scheduled three appointments one every other week. After confirming each appointment in the evening, the appointment was canceled the next morning. Over the course of the six weeks four out of five appointments were canceled. The front desk staff only once offered to help me reschedule. I did seek and receive help from another company as I needed some relief. Even with all the recent disappointments, I was still a big fan of Massage Envy I enjoyed coming in, the therapist were always very respectful and professional, providing me with much needed relief. I had no intention of altering my membership,However; I had gone out of town and wanted an appointment for when I got back, so I scheduled two appointments for the same day so that I would have a back up should they cancel for the fifth time. My appointments were for Tuesday, on Sunday I called to speak with the manager of Massage Envy East Kendall for the purpose of making sure I would have only one appointment on Tuesday confirmed. The manager at Massage Envy in East Kendall failed to return the message regarding appointments that I made. Unbeknownst to me as it was not in her voicemail she was off on Sunday, she was also off on Monday. She actually seemed upset that I didn't know, she didn't work on Sundays. Unfortunately for me I was on the other side of the country from South Florida, and my Mind reading capabilities were just not working well, I think it was the distance. I did not receive a return phone call even though the manager did confirm that somebody received the message. On Monday evening the night before my appointment, Massage Envy East Kendall called to confirm Tuesday mornings appointment. I asked who it was with they confirmed one therapist. This reply led be to believe I had one appointment. My mistake. Even though I put the effort into contacting the manager and she confirmed somebody did in fact receive the message. No return call to me was made. After Tuesday mornings appointment was over, I went to pay my bill, I was informed that I would have to pay for two Therapists. Even though only one therapist was confirmed, the manager at Massage Envy east Kendall would not budge insisting I make the two payment, telling me I didn't try hard enough to get a hold of an employee to confirm I had only one appointment. It's unfortunate that the management of Massage Envy East Kendall would blame the customer for a situation that was not necessarily the customers fault. The failure to follow through with appointments, along with the failure to return the phone call was not my doing. Over the course of my membership I promoted and recommended Massage Envy as I was a very satisfied customer. I find it a shame that the Massage Envy's East Kendall office manager failed to reply to a customer call becomes the financial responsibility of the customer. I in no way believe that the customer is always right that ended in the 80s. However the failure to communicate was on the part of Massage Envy East Kendall's management. the management at Massage Envy East Kendall failed to provide adequate customer service, although the call was made to the managers office, knowing that somebody did receive that message prior to Tuesday morning, somebody could've, should've, didn't call back Sunday or Monday after receiving the message read more

I HATE leaving one star reviews, but I believe my experience warrants it. When I arrived, I was greeted and asked to fill out a pre-massage form to identify the type of massage and areas I wanted massaged as it was my first time at this location. I checked off deep tissue with deep pressure and highlighted my upper and lower back area. I was then greeted by masseuse and hurried into the room as it was 5:03 and my massage was scheduled for 5. About 5 minutes into the massage, I asked my masseuse to apply deeper pressure and she responded with, "I normally don't do deep tissue, but I will try." This upset me, as the sole reason I booked a massage was to get deep work done because of all the tension I had in my back. On top of that, the masseuse barely focused on my back area and spent more time massaging my arms and legs, which I did not check off as areas of focus. To conclude, the massage finished 3 minutes earlier (5:57) than scheduled after starting 3 minutes later (5:03) than scheduled. Again, upsetting. As a customer, I expect a specific standard of quality from a business. This location fell short. A rushed, impersonal experience is the last thing you search for when booking a massage. I hope this is a rare occurrence and not the norm, as other ME locations have been great. They were so impressed by the immaculate service which the manager Alexandra and the girls there gave them, that not only were they convinced she was heaven sent but they begged me to go knowing I was in dire need of a massage or 7. Upon walking in I was greeted by Adrianna which was very attentive and welcoming which was a great start and I was starting to see what my Mother and Grandma were talking about. My masseuse was Zulema, and let me tell you this woman is legitimately a gift. I expressed to her my concerns and pain points, and told her I trusted her to do whatever she felt was best. She not only used techniques I have never seen before but her attention to detail and passion for what she does was definitely appreciated. You can tell Zulema is not only an expert but takes the utmost pride in her craft which is just a testament to everyone working at this location from the management to the masseuses. I ended up walking away feeling a whole lot lighter on my feet, with a monthly membership to finally start taking care of myself consistently, and honestly just happy I listened to my families recommendation in coming. After being a customer for many years, then charged me for an appointment that I could not cancel due to unexpectedly family emergency. The worse was the poor lack of customer service skills from the manager when I finally called to explain my cancellation. She continously talked over me, lied by telling me they called me which they did not, just not what I expected from this establishment. Specifically when they have canceled my appointments several times with less than 24 hour notices. They claimed their masseuse got sick but I later find out they had quit. All therapists have been super - extremely professional, good listeners and excellent at working on problem spots on my back, neck and shoulders. I stuck with the same therapist for a while and then changed a few times to try new therapists. We are always pleased. The facilities are clean and new, the atmosphere is so pleasant and I relax completely. Such a fantastic treat every month. We have tried Massage Envy 3 times, every time getting worse with every visit. The last time was 2 weeks ago or so. I had bought a gift card for my wife, and she said the masseuse was just ok, nothing to brag about, I'm sure many can have a good experience, BUT, my BIG complaint with every Massage Envy is the bombardment of a sales pitch when you go pay. A place to relax this is NOT, after receiving a massage, getting ready to pay and tip your masseuse, when suddenly the sharks start swimming around you making the sales pitch and trying to convince you to get their membership. STOP doing that! You are messing up the massage vibe making the experience worse than when I came in, every single time. After attempting to give these places the benefit of the doubt 3 times, we say no more. She did not give me a reason as to why I was being fired called me one hour prior to my shift and did it over the phone. Wasted time, effort, and gas for nothing. Owner allowed this mistreatment as well and did not give me a reason as to why I was being fired. It was a very unethical and wrong way to dismiss someone from there job without reason or notice. If you are considering becoming an employee at this location. Think again, they are very unprofessional and unethical with the way the treat there employees. I feel wonderful, so relaxed! The staff was extremely sweet and friendly. I was shown around the very relaxing facility. The ambience was soothing! Dim lights, relaxing massage music, and a soothing scent. My massage therapist gave me some recommendations and then we began. She was very accommodating and she definitely made me feel comfortable. Massaging and stretching for 1 1/2 hours is nearly not enough. I did not wanted to be over. When I was done the ladies from the front met me in the waiting room (relaxing) and went over the membership with me. One massage once a month is perfect for me. If I wanted another one in between the months, no problem. The price is just right with the membership. I'm looking forward to "me" time. read more

I clearly verbalized to both employees at this location I would be willing to sign up for a membership as long as I was able to cancel it at anytime. They both agreed this was possible. Neither employees at either time stated there was a 12 month contract involved. In fact, the contact is done on an iPad and they don't even let you read the document. They scan through it and give you a brief description of what your signing. At no point whatsoever was I told about the 12 month contact. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR A MEMBERSHIP! I will be broadcasting my just opinion and this horrible experience to my family, friends, and across all social media plate forms in hopes to save someone from this sad definition of a business. i am really struggling to find anything positive to say about my experience at massage envy a few weeks ago. so the only 2 perks i can say are that the front desk girl was super sweet and the location is very convenient for me with tons of parking. the place is much bigger than i expected, a small relaxation room, then a long hallway with several trmt rooms. the bed was warm, it was soooo warm i had to ask her to turn off the heating feature, bc it became uncomfortably hot. this is not m.e. fault, but oh my is te noise from the gym upstairs distracting and annoying. you are there to relax not hear loud music and banging of weights. it just doesnt go with a spa atmosphere. the therapist i got was nice, but honestly this was not a massage, it was a rub down. she used oil and rubbed it continuously into my back, my arms, my legs, etc. again, it was not a massage. she didn't get out the knots/tension. within the first 5 minutes i knew this wasnt right, i have been to many many spas and know the drill. i even considered stopping her, but i was in such need of relaxing that i went with it. problem is the full hour all i kept thinking about was how much this was not a good massage. it had been prepaid by my husband so i did my best to enjoy it. at checkout, i didnt become a member, and i wont be back. read more

If you are ready to get sold to, and have to say no about 10 times than this or a car dealership might be the right place for you. I had told the girl that was working the desk that no, I did not want to buy a membership for my fiancé since she only comes when I gift it to her and she's not interested, then when my fiancé shows up she then proceeds to sell to her as well after I just said no. So yes, Massage Envy is corporate. It will never feel like a lovely and quaint spa or even glamorous like the Ritz Carlton for that matter. Corporate equals a formula, a recited speech, and sales, sales, sales. If you can see past that, Massage Envy is actually a pretty decent spa ESPECIALL Y if you end up with a great masseuse. At this location, that masseuse would be Zulema. She's this sweet, petite lady with a plethora of stress-reducing massage techniques that will leave you "buzzed" as you walk out the room. She applied medium to firm pressure on neck and upper back where I had a series of knots. She then slowed her pace and reduced her pressure to perform a more calming massage on my arms, forehead and scalp. It was divine! There was a titch of Reiki in there with the pressure points and energy channels on my head. I loved it! Certainly didn't expect this intricate of a massage session at a corporate location. There was real energy, focus, and healing going on; and I really felt high when it was all over. I'll undoubtedly be returning for more sessions with Zulema!!! read more

I came to this Massage Envy location for the first time in April. When I called to make an appointment I was talked into buying a membership at that time, so that I could get the discounted pricing later that week for my actual massage. I have probably had 50 massages in my lifetime (and all different types), so I know what I am talking about when I say that what this therapist was not the norm. While lying on my back, he pulled my legs out at a weird angle and pushed on them towards the sockets. It did not feel good, nor did it feel like the typical stretch or hip opener one would expect. Then while lying on my stomach, he pulled my right arm up out and back and then pushed body weight down and in towards the sockets. I immediately said OUCH and he stopped applying pressure. He finished my massage and since I had not had a massage in a while, my whole upper body and arms were a little sore (normal) - right shoulder included. I paid, tipped and headed out. Well after a few weeks, the pain in my right shoulder did not fade (not normal). Moving my arm up back or holding it parallel caused pain, as did holding weight in my hand and extending. I have never had a shoulder injury in my life. I am in the middle of busy season at work, so I had not had time to call and complain, although it was on my to do list, and I thought it must be strained, the pain will fade. It did not. The store called me to book another massage and I informed them that I was injured and still in pain a month later, and that I wanted to cancel my membership because obviously I would not be coming back to let them touch me. The manager informed me (condescendingly) that it is normal to be sore after a massage (a month later?!?) and that since I was massaged by one of their best, I must be fine and if I hurt myself, it was surely somewhere else (false). I was charged for the month of May and told that if I did not have a doctor's note, I could not cancel my membership, but maybe I wanted a facial instead. They did offer to shorten my membership to 6 months. Little snippets of acknowledging something was wrong, but not fully admitting they messed up. I was in the process of calling to get a doctors appointment, but Ortho specialists are hard to see and was unable to get in until June. I finally got in to see a doctor, who ordered an MRI (1st medical bill from this nightmare), which diagnosed me with a detached labrum from the glenoid. Basically....the cartilage in my shoulder is so torn...it's detached. Yeap. I was sent to 6 weeks of PT (2nd instance of medical expenses - in addition to copays for office visits) and given a note to escape this membership that I would OBVIOUSLY never be using. The manager cancelled by membership, but never returned my call to let me know...she had the front desk staff relay the message...ya know...to an injured client. As I was injured in April, In ever used the May massage I was charged for and began leaving the Manager messages to please call me back to discuss. I called 5 times and left messages before receiving a call back. She claimed she had called and left messages but I find it very hard to believe that I would not receive ONE call or ONE message. I mean, I'm trying to get in touch with you guys. She finally called me back and I have not been spoken to in such a condescending, cold way from a business. "If you feel you are injured somewhere, you can get treatment." "You signed up for a membership so you must have liked your massage" "We are not going to refund you your $55 because you did not go to a doctor until June and this was in May" "No, you cannot come in and use a credit, you don't have one since you are no longer a member." Yeap that's right....they finally cancelled by account but will not give me my May money back. And when they cancelled, never mentioned that I was would essentially forfeiting my dollars. They wouldn't even keep it as a credit, although there is nothing I want from them. Isn't that essentially stealing? Charging me for services I did not have, and cannot have? And yes, I am this worked up over $55 (in addition to everything else that is wrong with this story), because I know have to PAY for physical therapy twice a week for 6 weeks (oh, by the way...the physical therapist after evaluating me noted that in addition to the labral tear/detachment....I have a rotator cuff injury). If my pain isn't gone after PT, the next option is surgery. I finally yelled at the manager, not my finest moment, but I have never ever been treated like this as a customer in my life. Nor have I been injured and the people responsible just did not seem to care. Go here at your own risk....they are all about protecting the company, but at the expense of their customers. read more
