WOW. This has to be the WORST Miami location for massage envy, matter of fact worth SOHTH FLORIDA location. Every masseuse in that location SUCKS but maybe two of them. They don't listen to your preference of massage & better yet, the front desk employees are INCOMPETENT and don't know how to do their job. My boyfriend is a member with massage envy, and every so often gets me a massage to do as a COUPLES massage. We get there yesterday and they informed us that the couples room in fact is not ready, and can't be used. This was upsetting and disappointing. Especially that massages aren't cheap. After the fact, we go into our SEPARATE rooms and I had the worst experience with my massage, I was more relaxed before I went in. Today, my boyfriend calls to express his concerns and the lady in the front desk is being extremely rude, he then waits 40+ minutes to speak to a manager and the manager has more important things to do like go to a meeting instead of assisting a customer. The 2.5 star reviews is NO JOKE for this place. AVOID THIS LOCATION AT ALLLLL COSTS. Do not sign up at Kendall LocationUnfortunately, this location does not honor the contract they give their clients. My mother who recently had spine/back surgery was told by her physician that she can no longer receive massages. The Kendall location staff, told her all they needed was a doctors note. My 71 year old mother, delivered the letter and then the manager (who never came out of her back office cubicle) sent one of her staff front desk girls to say, that the doctors note is not a sufficient excuse for cancellation. They proceeded by telling her that she instead could use the monthly charge towards "stretching or facials" - mind you, an elderly woman who has just had back surgery is being asked to go to Massage envy for "stretching"... wow...smh.... Anyway, to further prolong the cancellation process, they now want another doctors note claiming she can't get facials. They are violating their contract. The Massage Envy contract she signed literally states clearly under the section of: Cancellation of Wellness Benefits Section b): You Provide a written statement from your medical provider certifying that you are unable to receive massages for medical reasons. So after calling other locations of this franchise, I learned that other locations do find a doctors note to be sufficient grounds for cancellation. However, the manager at this Kendall location (aka Jezebel) decided to ignore the surgeons request and rudely claimed that "her policies at that location are her policies" and therefore, can do whatever she wants at her own discretion bc this is her location and she can change the rules as she pleases, despite what the contract states. We know have to wait another day to turn in more physicians notes over "facials". The things they do to try to prolong the cancellation process in order to benefit from an elderly woman finances is jaw dropping. We've done everything as asked and they are doing everything in their power to prevent the cancellation process so they can further charge my mother within the 10 day grace period of processing the paperwork. Its no wonder they have two star reviews in this location. read more

So I had been a member here for a couple of years until I had my son. After he was born I wanted to come back because my back has been giving me trouble again. I went once in October and when I left the young lady at the front desk gave me a card so that I could use the introductory price again the next time I needed to come. When I called today to see if there is appointment available I spoke with Jennifer the manager. She told me I could not use this card that it was meant to be given to my friends and family. I told her that was not what Isabella had explained it all. So I asked her if she would honor the coupon and let me book an hour and a half today but she told me that she would rather not have my business. That is definitely not the customer service that I used to get! I had a really great experience here. I ALMOST didn't even come to this location because of the many 1 or 2 star reviews. I was tempted to drive further to the South Miami or even Tamiami location because I was weary. But! Alas, in good yelp faith I decided to trek to this location. From the start, customer service was amazing. I had a gift certificate someone gave me for Christmas that I finally had time to use. I called at 9am to see if there were any openings/availability later in the day and they were so informative, helpful and genuinely nice on the phone. (I honestly let other reviewers get to me and I was expecting someone rude or someone who would be short with me) Time came for my appt and I came early knowing I would have to fill out an intake sheet like everyone does their very first visit. Shari was the beautiful lady assisting me and handling my intake and she was so wonderful. I really can't talk about her enough. She's so sweet, beautiful, nice and has a really awesome style. (We chatted a bit about clothing & thrifting haha) She made me feel very welcomed and comfortable. The Massage was one of the best massages I've received. If you know anything about me, I work in the entertainment industry. (No, not THAT one you filthy mind!) But I train A LOT in dance, I'm constantly working, rehearsing, training in Aerial Arts and although I stretch ALOT, it still takes a major toll on my body. Basically in a nutshell, all masseuse hate me. Lol. Anyways! I had Tony and although he looks young he is very knowledgable and very proficient at his craft. He gave me a very good deep full body massage. Believe me, my skin and muscles are so over worked and tough that a "regular" deep tissue massage is a joke for me. Even judo chopped my back at the end of it lol. He was extremely attentive. Asking me if I was in pain, or the work he was doing was deep enough, less enough, etc. We also had very interesting conversations that didn't make me feel annoyed in any way at all. I was pretty relaxed and happy throughout my whole service. Waiting to leave, Shari mentioned their membership program and how it should work and etc. I'm actually interested in doing it in the future possibly because massages are actually important for muscle tissue repair and longevity for aerialists but I cannot commit at the current moment due to my hectic schedule. This place SUCKS! I have had massages at many different venues, both upscale and small business, and this place is the worst. It is very difficult to get an appointment, and they make errors with your appointment. When the masseuse that I was scheduled with ended up taking a leave of absence they gave me zero notice and just re-scheduled me with some amateur. I have left this place with a deep, dark bruise where one masseuse kept kneading at a knot and another masseuse had not trimmed her nails and she left scratches on my neck. Well for starters in order to take advantage of the prices you must pay a membership fee of $59 a month. Not too expensive but then you have to pay for the massages and tip the masseuse based on regular prices even though you are paying at a discounted rate as a member!!! I'm not dead and my muscles are still connected to my body - so for that, I'm giving Massage Envy 2 stars. However, this place is honestly just not good. I've had two massages at the Kendall location and both therapists have totally lacked what I would consider general competencies - educated touch, focus on areas of stated concern - when I tell you I'm coming in for work on my mid-back and shoulders, why would you spend 10 minutes ON EACH FOOT? Things got especially weird this time when my therapist was just basically rubbing the ball of my foot for a while. I'm not sure if she fell asleep, or was texting on her phone - but I basically had to fake a leg spasm to make her stop and pick another area to be awkward with. The kicker: my sub-par 60 minute massage was 48 minutes long. Therapist came to get me at 1:05, started the session at 1:08, and she walked out of the room and I stood up to get dressed at 1:56. Long story short yes it is an affordable massage if you get the membership, but good luck getting out of it. I live 80 miles from the closest Massage Envy (Kendall in fact) and was told today that the only way I can cancel is either continue to pay for the rest of the first 12 months or prove that I moved after I signed up. I knew the only way to get out of this contract was like a gym membership, but the contract does not state that you have to move AFTER you sign up - I thought I would be in the Miami area more often, and fact is that I'm not ... but the only way to cancel is to call the manager tomorrow and speak with her. Yes, for a business that is more focus on a business transaction than customer service. If you sign up for the membership, they have two pages of rules you have to agree, cancelation policy, payment policy, rescheduling, and you have to agree and bind to a contract they have design so that they as a business don't get screwed over. When they screw you over by overbooking your appointment you go home with an apology and a reschedule appointment, but don't dare to show up late or miss your appointment because they will charge your credit card for services you didn't received. (Stated on contract) I did not received any services, because they overbook me and send me home, would it be fair to say that their policy should work the other way around??? I had the membership for a year, and had different massage therapists, Martha is a torture, no matter how many time you asked her to be more gentle, she will argument about it, and do it as she please. The place is nice, not as quiet as it should be, the best therapist that they had was Conrad, I mean he was great, to the point that I didn't want to try anyone else, it was worth it!! The last two times, Conrad wasn't available, first because everything was booked three weeks ahead, and the last time because I wanted on Sat. and he was only working only Tues. and Wed. my membeship was over and the last massage cost me $79, that was a ripoff the therapist was horrible. I always frequent the Falls location, but since this one is closer to my house, I decided to try it. Compared to the Falls location, this location is chattery and noisy. The patrons talk noisily on their phones in the "relaxation" area while the staff yell across the hall to their colleagues. Less than relaxing to say the least. Massage Envy has a very bad customer service policy. My family gifted me a 3-month membership, which allows you to use 3 services for 3 months for free. I used 2 of them (a facial and a massage), and booked the 3rd appointment prior to the expiration of the membership. I called this week a little concerned that they hadn't called me for the 3rd appointment. This is when they told me that my membership expired a day ago and that I had used all 3 services. That there were 2 people with my same name and maybe that other person used my 3rd one. I tried for them to give me my 1 hour back, tried to speak to the manager, whom I never got a hold of, and their answer was "I'm sorry". What a way to lose one customer for a 1 hr massage that my family had already prepaid for. Not only have I been to Massage Envy a few times now, but I have also recommended coworkers and bought gift cards as birthday and Christmas gifts in the past. Again, what a way to lose a valuable customer, just for a 1 hour service. Very bad customer care policies and I share this with Yelp so that it doesn't happen to anybody else. I have over 10 massages sitting there that I might use, not sure. I'd use them if I could get an appointment. At first my hubby liked it then he could not get in at the times her wanted. tried many different time to cancel my husband's account and they always gave it to "Maggie". Let me just say this Maggie person never bothers to call til your account is pass due. I think she gets paid to sit in her office all day ignoring clients . I have actually seen girls go in their for advice and have to keep going in to solve the problems and she never comes out the office. what kind of manager does not go out an face the client? It is very easy to have other people show face for you when you are not being nice to clients. Very low class woman On a side note the massages have been ok. I have gone before and have liked it. As several people have stated you get what you pay for, now I've had terrible experiences at high end spas. So in comparison for having paid only $50 for an hour massage this place was amazing. The front desk girls were really nice and welcoming. I had Dana I believe her name was as my massage therapist, she was amazing and I'm already scheduled to see her again in a month! She focused on exactly what I needed and at the same time gave me a full body massage. I have no complaints about her. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was cause I had asked to include the bio freeze and through some communication error it didn't end up happening. I came in July for a massage . the process was nice and the facility was really clean . I had to come to this location because the falls location totally messed up my reservation. After the massage, the receptionists were very nice and did a great job of convincing my father & i to sign up for the 6 month program. This is where the problems began / they left out so much important information that someone should know before signing up. They knew i currently live in NY, as they kept my father and i there 25+ minutes talking about the city after the massage yet they neglected the fact of the extreme cost increase in NY ( for the same program ). I called to freeze my program in August , my mother then used one of my massages in October . I received a credit card statement in November and my card was charged yet I never used a massage for that month. I called to sort out the issue and was told a form would be sent to me , I can to follow up the next day for the form to actually be sent . I sent a follow up email with questions about the form before sending it over on 1/10 - STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED A REPLY . I called again 1/17 and was told a manager would call me the following day to answer my concerns about receiving a refund and ensuring i won't be charged $55 for december and the forthcoming months . No one has reached out to me in getting this matter sorted out , overall DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THE PROGRAM, just pay for massages individually avoid the headache. update 4/14 - they are a complete fraud ! It had been years since I had had a professional massage and my wife was sick and tired of me asking her for one every night, so she got me a gift card for our wedding anniversary. He was great! He was able to hit all the right spots and I felt super relaxed after. They will however push very hard for you to sign up for a membership, especially if you come in with a gift card. I think it is hard to review a massage "place" when the massage therapist is the most important part. This location was clean, efficient, and the staff was friendly. I had a 1.5 hour massage with Patricia and she was excellent. I am a firm beleiver that you get what you pay for so I did not have high expectations for this massage but I needed a reasonably priced quick fix and got my money's worth. She had excellent technique, made sure that she asked several times if the pressure was appropriate, and most importantly, she listened. I had told here I had injured my right shoulder and didn't care if she spent extra time on that area and missed other's in order to make sure I left with my shoulder out of pain. I have had many massages and she is a top notch therapist and knows her stuff! As for the spa itself, it is minimal but so is the price. So clean, efficient, and friendly staff were a plus. I have been getting massages and facials since they opened. I think it's a great deal as long as you get a therapist that does the type of massage that you like. I personally love deep tissue type massages. I have had bad therapists and have had great ones. My favorites are Julio, Conrad and Natasha. Good facial therapist are difficult to find and Carmen is the best. If you are here for the first time, let the front desk personnel assist you and tell them what you prefer and ask for a recommendation (i.e. deep, Swedish type, English or Spanish speaker etc). It's your hour and being forward and detailed might make the difference. You may have a great experience here. For the price, you can't beat this place! Yes, I signed a 12-month contract but I did that prior to a pandemic I didn't know was coming. There was no "pandemic clause" in their contract. Now I'm supposed to continue to pay for 5 more months after paying the other 7 months for massages I didn't/won't use. But according to the store, they're being "accommodating." Hmmm, a year of massages I didn't use because it didn't feel safe and still doesn't feel safe. Wow, thanks for being so "accommodating." And don't try to call corporate headquarters. Of the many times they've made mistakes all the say is " we're so sorry for the inconvenience, we cant reimburse you for anything because our payments are automatic" that's their favorite line. The most recent one was them charging me yet another month almost 70$ although my contract is over. Why call it a contract if you're going to continue charging me? Their excuse is that when your contract is done they continue to charge you on a month to month basis... but no one called me no one asked me if I wanted to do another month. So basically their contracts are not really contracts they will continue to charge you until you decide to go in and go through the mission of cancelling your membership EVEN THOUGH THE CONTRACT IS "done", lol. Apparently it's part of the policy, to keep charging you after you finished your contract.They will do ANYTHING to just be able to charge your card just once more. Oh and let's not forget the time I was charged 30 minutes when I had a service available they apologized for the mistake from their part because they didn't communicate to me the correct amount of time I had available yet still no money reimbursed. I just had the BEST massage of my life. I am blown away by the legendary service from therapist Sara. I've been multiple times to this Kendall location, as well as visited a few other Massage Envy locations, other spa brands, and luxury spas across the US, and nothing compares to today's 60 minute massage with Sara. She is a gem. I will always book my appointments with her from now on. She remembered me from the first time I had a massage with her and welcomed me back, and truly listened to what I needed in my massage today. She anticipated my needs by having the pillows I enjoy already on the bed before I even asked for them, and had the bed set to the temperature I loved. Absolutely incredible. Massage Envy West Kendall is the absolute worst company ever with such atrocious customer service you can't imagine. DO NOT LET THEM TRAP YOU. IT'S ALL A SCAM. They charge you religiously and then steal your massages to the tune of almost $1,000 in my case. I wanted to speak to a manager and of course non was available. I asked for a manager to call me within 24 hours and I was told that they couldn't guarantee a call back because the manager handles five stores. It's now been three days and still no contract or call back. So I the customer can't speak to a manager because she's too busy, but they sure have someone to charge my card every month. At the end of the day most massages are sub par. I moved in June 2017 and keep asking to change my home base and they refuse. Chris is the best of the best. He was recommended to me over a year ago by one of the girls at the front and anyone else I've ever went to that wasn't him did not give near as great of a massage as he does. They are very professional and nothing shady and as a sexual abuse survivor I'm so glad I was able to find a massage therapist like Chris that I can trust. He's truly the best, super nice, listens, is respectful and makes you feel safe and secure. Such a sweetheart. I always ask for him. The people at the front desk are nice and accommodating. They put pressure on you to add services and products to your list of things to spend money on but I know it's because whoever their boss is puts a lot of pressure on the girls at the front to make sales and meet a certain number of new clients and so on. I only recommend this massage envy though because others that I have been to have discriminated against me and then some so this is the only one that I like! I had gotten a gift card and was using it there, I still had to leave a tip (and they suggested I leave a big tip), and the whole time I was in the lobby waiting, I was being pushed into joining. I did not like that at all. I was happy to get out of there fast. That being said, I gave it 3 starts because the massage itself was really good. I felt comfortable, and the place was clean. read more
