Worst massage experience ever. We received two 60 min introductory massages as a gift. We arrived and were given a form to complete typical of when you go to see a doctor for the first time. Took us a few minutes to complete although the most important parts were: where does it hurt, How hard do you want it, and the disclaimer (if you leave worse then you came it's not our problem). Up to this part accounts for the 1 star rating. We hand in the forms and are told we were 10 minutes late and the time will be deducted from our massage. So as we WAIT for our massage therapists (killing more time) .....finally we are brought into a room and all is normal till....I reiterate to the young male masseuse what I wrote on the form that I want nothing hard like Shiatsu and that nothing hurts. I received the hardest Shiatsu massage ever. I was moving away when I could no longer breathe. I should have asked him to be gentler, but I am a guy and I would think that by me moving away he would have figured it out. He claimed to have found a knot....Funny as I was fine walking in The tension (knot) I had was from the pain I was experiencing. I was concerned that I was going to hurt the next few days and kept praying for the time to be up and that there would be no long term damage. I was so SO glad when it was over. We were pitched the membership plan and I actually wanted a refund.....left a tip (Cause I didn't Die) and ran for the hills! read more

Do I have a review for you!!! This spa does not follow "keep the customer happy". It will make no exceptions whatsoever. For example, if there is a circumstance where you are too busy and had to go out of town but have two or three remaining massages. One they will not extend your time, so that you do not have to squeeze three massages into your remaining time and will not accomodate you even if your massages expire the same day! Basically, you are treated like a number with a "you snooze you lose attitude".There goes approx. $180 down the drain! A letter of compaint was sent via e-mail and guess what? No response! So beware and stay away from this commercialized massage business. Yes, you can get a good massage but have to go through a trial with many on staff to find the one you like by the time you do that your year of services is over. As far as the saying the customer comes first, it is just not there! So EEK stay away! Trust me no envy here! read more

They are AMAZING!!! I normally have my massages here. The front desk is very respectful and they are always asking me how I feel so they can help me enhance my massage. I've seen many reviews where people feel uncomfortable with the "membership talk" but BEING REALISTIC that's a business!! And as all business work obviously they're going to try to offer their sevices more often, so I don't get the point of why getting mad about that. Second if you go to other places about massage they'll charge you for the same thing or more and it doesn't come with any benefits. They will be nice to you at first when you sign up and then if you need to cancel your membership as it happened to me they treat you horribly make you feel alot of paper work and leave you waiting for days and days until they get tired and finally cancel your membership. I've been coming here for about 6-7 months regularly with a membership & I love this place! As soon as I walk in through those doors I feel happy & calm. The front desk staff is friendly & welcoming as well as efficient. I've never had an issue with anything except for one time on my birthday I remember distinctly being very disappointed with the massage (to the point of crying) & the manager took care of booking another massage for free because they are that dedicated to customer service. The masseuse Ade is fantastic. Although the massage is a little bit less than an hour, I always come out of the massage relaxed. The receptionists are all very nice and friendly. Since google does not allow me to rate this business with 0 stars, I am rating it with a misleading single one star. I am a member of Massage Envy since October of 2018. I get massages regularly and have had many different therapists, of both genders. However, when I went to this Massage Envy on April 7th I had the absolute worse experience of my life. Aside from the inconvenience of beginning my appointment 45 minutes later than my sister and I had been scheduled to begin, the therapist, Ariana, was extremely unprofessional. She only "petted" me over the sheets for almost the full entirety of the massage. When I kindly requested for firmer pressure, she advised that she begins light to "warm up my muscles", but never increased her pressure. When I asked her various times thereafter to please increase the pressure she chastised me and explained that my back was actually fine as she shook my body to demonstrate how "loose my back was". The whole hour she was sitting on the bed and had me shoved to the side, I thought it was so that she could better leverage herself in order to apply deeper pressure, instead it became very clear that she was doing this for her own comfort. I had paid for an add on of a icy-hot gel of which she never applied. I realized that I was losing my session and had already felt so uncomfortable that I was just dying to leave, but the nightmare was not over. Ariana waited until the end of my massage to try to argue with me about how what I may define as firm is different to others, at which point I tried telling her I refused to argue with her, but she continued. Mind you I WAS NUDE UNDER THE SHEETS, WITH THIS THERAPIST, ARIANA, BLOCKING THE EXIT DOOR, WHILE CONTINUING TO TRY TO ARGUE WITH ME . Finally I got up, while still NAKED, crying, and covering myself with the sheets in an attempt to get dressed to leave at which point she finally left the room and I was able to change. THE NIGHTMARE WAS STILL NOT OVER, I spoke to the shift manager, Daniella, who told me my session would be comped, only to then fraudulently charge my account on the 16TH of April (mind you I had gone in on the 7th) as if I would not notice. DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION! DO NOT GET MASSAGES HERE! THEY ARE EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL, RUDE, AND UNHELPFUL. read more

Very Frustrated with the Kendall location. Last week I had the relaxing pleasure of being next door to a gentleman having what was thought to be a heart attack. I heard the paramedics coming in, their walkie talkies, and the best part was the man hurling through the paper thin sheet rock walls while his wife yelled that he was fine! I tried my very best not to vomit myself while my massage therapist did her best to carry on. My massage ended with an excruciating headache because I was so stressed out over the thought of some man next door dropping dead from a heart attack. The smart thing would have been to get up and leave, but It sounded like I needed a hazmat to leave the room, I didn't know if it was some deadly virus he was throwing up from or what! I called 3 times after that happened with the promise of a call back from management, had to hound them for a response. Considering I have been a member for 5 years I called the manager and thought the kind thing would be to honor me the hour and a half massage I had pre-paid for. The best "Lady" could do was just a half hour since the issue was "out of her control." Ironic her name is "Lady" as she is completely incapable of being one. This place has the most aloof absent minded reception/sales staff I have ever encountered. First I get a long winded sales pitch that I eventually buy for my wife. After actually charging me, then they say I only have 3mo. to use the purchased massages. Strike one. Then my wife calls and sets an appointment for a prenatal massage, and the dumbass who booked it did not make it with someone prenatal certified, so now my wife has to reschedule for a week later. Strike two. All I can say is that the staff at this place is going to see my bad side if I get to strike three. This location has some serious communication/professionalism issues. I've been here a hand full of times due to the conveniece and closeness to my home and there's ALWAYS an issue. From massages starting late, to random time changes/therapist change, to filling out their online survey my very first time there and stating that I felt like I got injured because of an experience that seemed to come from a therapist that wasn't properly trained; I did not even getting a call back to address the issue or even apoligize. My most recent issue was having to pay extra for my current session because of misinformation I was given the last time I was here. I have had an issue EVERY SINGLE TIME. They have a great social media platform, good products for sale, are generally nice, and have a really great therapist (Rosie) but otherwise, I continue to have a bad impression with what goes on "back stage". read more

The customer service is awful at this location. When I left, the receptionist who had taken my license said goodbye without returning. I returned to pick it up later and the same young woman gave no apology. No one called me to even say I had left my license. When I called to complain, I was told it was my fault. I recently visited the Massage Envy location in Kendall while on vacation in Miami Florida. I live in Tampa and usually go to a different place near my house that gives awesome deep tissue massages. Since I was going to be out of town, my wife did a quick search in the Kendall area where we were going to be staying with family and Massage Envy turned up. Having heard their ads on the radio all the time and thinking that they have multiple locations, I though why not go with a chain-spa, they must know what they are doing right? The day before I showed up, they called to tell me that my 2 hour deep tissue massage therapist was no longer with them and they would need to reschedule me for an hour and a half long massage with somebody else. The only problem is that the person is not as deep as the other lady that "Was no longer with them". I show up there and they wanted my ID to setup a profile for me. I declined... it is a huge turn-off for me to have to provide my ID to get service anywhere. The lady said that it was to have my correct address. I replied "all you have to do is ask my and I will give you the right address". Another lady then came up and asked me a bunch of questions that I already filled out on their form in order to customize my massage... okayyyy.... She then introduces me to the massage therapist that was going to perform my massage. A frail lady who I discovered later was a smoker. I follow her into the massage room and get ready. The pressure was not there. I asked for more and even though I could hear the walls cracking from he legs using them as leverage, I still could not feel anything but a caress. I figured that since I could not get much pressure, I would ask them to focus more on my pressure points. When she reached one, I asked to focus on that spot. She kept moving. I attempted several times to get her to focus on my pressure points to no avail. She then lathered my back with bio-freeze. With intense cold and then heat my muscles eventually felt a little better but not much. It was definitely not a deep tissue. This freeze thing got everywhere, even in my ear cavities. With a frozen back and left ear and absolutely not feel of relief from the pressure that I come to expect from a deep tissue massage, I don't think that I will be going back to Massage Envy. All they managed to do is to leave me envious of the massage I could be getting at my regular spot in Tampa. read more

Today I called this location at 3pm and asked if they had any availability for an appointment after 6pm. I have been having back pain and I had seen the chiropractor today for an adjustment and I was still feeling uncomfortable. The girl told me she had an appt at 6:45pm, her system was down but she assured me I was scheduled. When I arrived the manager told me I did not have an appointment. My appointment was never booked and given to someone else. I was also told my account was restricted. I don't even have an account. And I told the girl I had a $100 gift certificate. To make a long story short... I called the store that locked the account and they quickly removed it. They also told me the store was supposed to call them first. I was also told I should not have been turned away because of their mistake. I called a local place called Amazian Massage on 137 Ave and 159 Street and let me tell you it was THE BEST massage I have ever gotten. If you want a strong massage THIS is the place to go. I will never return to this Massage Envy to use my gift certificate. The customer service from the manager was horrible and unprofessional. I was told all this in front of other customers, as if I had done something wrong and my account was restricted. Very unprofessional and definitely not how a manager should take care of such a screw up on their part. She did nothing to accommodate it figure out why this happened. Horrible!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

I have to say I had a great experience, it was relaxing and the place is very clean, however, the lady at the front desk gave me the longest speech and everything was boring, I knew exactly what I wanted and how I wanted because I have gotten tons of massages before but she tried to changed my mind and tell me what to do. That really bother me because I know my body and I know what I want. On the other side the massage was not an hour long but very professional I must say, same as the facial. Both listen to me and not to what the front desk lady wrote on her paper. My least favorite experience was at the end when they sit down with you to convince you to get the membership. I said no more than 5 times and they wouldn't let it go. That really annoyed me, I spend a good 35 minutes listening to the story of the company and other peoples story (that was none of my business) and how it was a good idea to get the membership. Such a waste of time and it created a horrible ending experience, I don't want to be back just because of this. Lack of respect for people's time and do not know how when to stop persuading. Holy holy! I just got out of this place and I usually wait a while to review but I have to get this out! This massage experience was friggin' bizarre! I got there at 9 pm and it was quiet and great. My therapist was Ma*** and she was terrible. I asked where the restroom was before starting and she told me to basically "hurry it up" when I was perfectly on time. I knew this was going to be bad. She barely spoke English (I speak perfect English/Spanish so this wasn't a big deal) and was a typical super-pushy older lady. Before even starting she was trying to sell me on the membership. I used to be a member but I just don't need a massage every month, thankfully. Here we go. They always ask whether you have any injuries/pains and I said I was a little sensitive. I love how every time I get a massage therapist, I get the one who is apparently a physical therapy school drop out. She proceeded to diagnose me with arthritis and told me that I will definitely be stricken as I get older, if it is that I don't have that or fibromyalgia now. Geez! I wasn't going to fight with her so I was like, "Oh! Good to know!" Her draping technique was non-existent and she exposed stuff that wasn't supposed to be like 3 times. She would like lift my legs 2 feet in the air..I was like WTF! I have gotten massages around the world and NEVER NEVER has that happened to me. I would ask her for more pressure or more oil and actually she told me straight up, "Give me a second, I know what I'm doing, I'll eventually get there". She really started to tick me off. I am really sensitive but I needed more pressure and she noticed that my skin started to turn really red. I didn't mind because that's normal for me but my jaw really dropped when she said that my skin was getting red because my "muscles were being oxygenated". LOL. I really wanted to tell her it was the huge histamine reaction from her pressing so hard and breaking blood vessels but not the time/place. When she flipped me over she proceeded to tell me I was crooked and that she couldn't massage me if I didn't straighten out. I was straight, yo. Her nails were really long (unprofessional for a massage therapist, IMO) and she scratched me twice. She did all of this crazy stuff with my appendages that really made me want to laugh. She bent my legs and arms several times, like she was prepping me for an NBA game or something, and NO ONE has ever done things like that. I have had massages at 4 star properties in several diff countries, so it wasn't some exotic modality or anything. It was "I'm just going to do whatever I want". So that freak show ended and I went to pay and the girl at the front burst into tears in the middle of my cashing out! La pobre, she was obviously going through something distressing...NEVER AGAIN! Even if it is conveniently located...I am going to stick with the South Miami location because I don't remember it being so bad. The Miami Lakes location is awesome! I was a member there and all of the people spoke English and were super professional and genuinely seemed like they loved their career. read more

Ok quick review of this place and its just that OK. Place reminds me of a factory/ hospital instead of a relaxing spa.. and to be honest I didn't know the difference until I started to go to other locations..This place is always packed, parking PACKED..the Tamiami location is WAY better. It's just cleaner and it always smells really nice it's clamer, cleaner.. basically what you'd expect at a spa. I gave it a 3 star because the staff is good..well actually, it depends on who you get and you will unfortunately need to test to find out. Try TONY!! I tried the "head therapist" there and I didn't return for 3 months... :( I believe she was over confident and believed she was a chiropractor (obviously don't let anyone get creative on you-speak up) and really ended up really hurt me :( my back and neck was plagued with really extreme pain, I saw a Doctor and pinched nerves for weeks!! Let me start by saying that I have had nothing but great experiences at this Massage Envy location. I decided recently to supplement my monthly massages with more frequent visits because my work is very stressful (I'm a family law lawyer in private practice and I deal with very distressed people regularly for a living) and it was taking a toll on my body and sense of well-being. One day after a court hearing, I decided that the stiffness and soreness in my muscles was just too much to tolerate and I called the Kendall location, which is close to both my home and office, for an appointment and got one right away. The therapist I saw was Karen, who was formerly a paralegal before becoming a massage therapist, and she clearly understood the strain my body was enduring and set about to relieve it. She was phenomenal as is the other therapist I have seen, Rosalina, both of whom have helped to relieve my muscle soreness. The frequent visits have helped tremendously to relieve my muscle soreness and I'm finally sleeping much better as a result, better rested upon awakening and with more energy to greet my day. I cannot say enough great things about how professional, courteous and organized the front staff is too. Linette and the staff at the front desk are friendly, courteous and have gone above and beyond the call of duty to accommodate my sometimes hectic schedule. I was so impressed with their outstanding customer service that I switched from another Massage Envy location to this one as my home base. I look forward to seeing them and their recommendations are always so on point. (Linette, thank you for reminding me to keep up with daily meditation as a way to better relax; I immediately felt better when I began to be more viligent about daily meditation). I highly recommend this Massage Envy location to anyone looking for the occasional massage or those who need more frequent visits. You won't be disappointed. read more

I tried this place because I needed a massage for pain relief. I wrote on the sheet and told the masseuse that my hip hurt. She was pleasant enough but did not speak English. I gave it a whirl anyway hoping for the best but it was a disappointment. This place left me with the impression that it is a good introduction to massage therapy but is not a serious place to go to if you are truly seeking pain management. I have been coming to this Massage Envy location for 2 years now - and I have always had a pleasant experience at the front desk - and although I have never written a review - they really deserve some kudos. First and foremost - I usually like deep tissue massages - so I go to Bobbie - whom I absolutely love and she has been my therapist of choice for these past years - I have tried others - they are fine - but Bobbie is - to me - the best. On to yesterday - I booked a massage for a friend of mine who's birthday is coming up - and I wanted it to be with Bobbie - at checking the booking for next week - I was informed that my friend was booked with another therapist - and I was going to cancel it (along with another massage for me) but Lynette - the young lady at the front desk stated: Before you cancel - let me see if I can work this out for you. She began looking at both therapist schedules - and typing (alot!) - she moved some breaks around - and so graciously changed the appointments so that they were still on the same day - an hour ahead - for both me and my friend - and settled everything for our day next week with the Therapists we wanted. Lynette deserves a Yelp! She did a great job - was extremely nice, helpful - and really wanted to solve the problem - she did! Thank you to Lynette - and of course - Bobbie who is the best in my book! Yes the place is not a fancy spa - but it is homey and one feels comfortable - and the price is good. read more

The therapist was very nice and talented, but at the front desk they are too aggressive with the way they go about trying to make you sign up for a membership. I told them I had to speak with my husband but they did not respect that and kept insisting, and even asked me if I wanted to take a moment to call him right then and there. We kept going back and forth for a while because they kept trying to talk me into it and not accepting my response. In my opinion, that is a bit unprofessional and it basically ruined the relaxation from the massage that I had just received. I have been to massage envy in two different states. the first one I went to left me with a huge knot in my neck and i could turn my head for almost a week. Thankfully i worked in the medical field and was able to get treatment for the bruised and strained muscle. When i moved to kendall I decided to try the local branch cause of course I could, if lucky get a great massage. Not likely. MA*** was the name of the person who took care of me. She couldnt speak english very well and I speak no spanish at all. I felt like i was being jerked around the table. I think I jiggled in places I didnt know jiggles. There was no way to relax at all. The funny thing was I swear I dont think I was even give a massage just jiggled around. When i got up from the table i was in so stiff and unrelaxed i didnt even think I was gonna be able to get dresses. After that of course I get to the front where I am asked about the memebership, I thought about it for a second but then declined. They werent to happy about that at all. So after i paid for everything and got home I realized she never gave me back my DL's so I had to drive back. Do you think they would have picked up the phone and said hey we forgot to give you your DL's back. Needless to say I wont be going back again and I have had better massages at a massage school so I think I will try to locate one near here. read more

I actually look forward to getting my monthly massages opposed to just waiting for someone to give me a gift card! I decided to become a member on my first visit (had a terrible migrane) and its been almost 3 months now and I really feel the difference. The front desk staff is very nice and helpful and everyone that walks by greets you and has a smile on their face. Ive tried different massage therapists and they are all great, although they each have a different technique so you might want to try different ones until you find the one you like. I've visited several times and from the moment I walk in, I am pleasantly greeted by Gabi and Daniella, who start checking me in immediately. Gabi does a phenomenal job of making me feel comfortable as soon as I step through the door, offering me tea & walking me through the customization of my massage. She's my go-to girl whenever I have questions or concerns & she always helps me out however she can. The therapists are friendly and really want to help you feel your best. Their styles vary so I always ask Gabi to suggest therapist based on what type of pressure they're known for. So far, I've tried two therapists and they never disappoint. I purchased a membership in November, and can't imagine not having it. My monthly massages are definitely something I look forward to. I would absolutely recommend getting a massage here. read more
