When it comes to massages, it's all about who you get. Personally, I really enjoyed Misty and Amy for relaxation, and Lilia if you want deep tissue and someone to beats you up (in a good way) she will find ALL the knots. She also does great stretching. I tried several different facials and treatments but none seemed very effective or deep and I wasn't too impressed. If you're looking for a relaxing European facial, sure, but if you want something deeper I'd try somewhere else. I was especially disappointed in my 2 credit microderm that lasted 35 minutes, definitely skip this one. This particular location had a great appointment track record. Only once in 1.5 years did they reschedule me and I often did 2 treatments/month. Also the manager Fabi is great. I've been to the Lake Pleasant location several times over the last several months for facials and massages. The front desk staff is always very friendly and engaging when I walk in and leave. My therapists have also been top notch, knowledgeable, and kind. I have another treatment scheduled now and expect the experience to be no different. Front desk staff ! Please replace your front desk staff to include your GM Jaylyn. I WAS a member since 2022. Recently cancelled in October . The office staff progressively got worse. What businesses answer the phone and just immediately place you on hold for up to 5 min without asking if you could hold? Also , if a customer doesn't understand something , repeating the same thing again in an annoyed tone is not going to make them understand it. The receptionist is sweet, informative & beyond helpful. I had called the Surprise location off Bell & their receptionist showed annoyance by my request & then struggled to accommodate me. I struggled finding an appointment for my mother & I for massages at the same time & the receptionist at this location was not only sweet professional and accommodating but quick. She has a bubbly fun personality over the phone with great energy & found me appointments immediately. I was VERY happy with her customer service experience. It felt fun, light and exciting as booking a massage should be. When I called the Surprise off Bell location I ended the call frustrated & as if I was asking for too much by the girls. Good customer is hard to find now & days & I am beyond pleased. My comments pertain to this ME location/franchisee only. I loved this place for years and had services multiple times per month. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, we all thought it would be over quickly, so I decided to temporarily keep paying my monthly fee and accrue services. I literally was doing this to help them not go out of business, which I told them on the phone. I think that is way above & beyond for a customer to do something like that. Instead of appreciating it, they've systematically screwed me over. When it became clear this was going to last longer, I asked numerous times to pause the accrual of fees until a vaccine was available. They required me to sign it with a pen and either mail it or bring it in. I pointed out I didn't own a printer, so were they really requiring me to purchase a printer or go somewhere to have it printed in person, exposing myself to this virus that's transmitted indoors? I explained I'm super high risk medically & wasn't going into any other buildings. They kept refusing electronic signatures and scans of my handwritten signature, even though they have my full account info to verify my identity over the phone if they wanted. Then I asked if I could be assigned to a vaccinated massage therapist. They falsely claimed that HIPAA doesn't allow them to ask their vaccination status. When I explained that is untrue about HIPAA, they refused still. This is supposed to be somewhere I go to get healthier, not sicker. I called and asked if I could be assigned to a therapist who wears a mask, and they refused. They said it's up to the customer to negotiate with the therapist on the day of the appointment, and if I can't come to an agreement with the therapist, I could leave and forfeit the massage fees! They offered to do facials instead. I explained that is worse, requiring me to take my own mask off. Isn't that common sense? I wrote to the Attorney General asking for a refund of accrued fees. All ME did was pause my monthly fee accruals and try to "resolve it over the phone". I do not want any undocumented conversations with them at this point, since there is zero trust left. I tried to log into my online ME account to find out the balance they're withholding, and they've locked it. Now I'm dealing with the Better Business Bureau and will have to go to small claims court next if they can't help. read more

I've had a ME membership for a total of 10 years. Most therapist are keenly aware of helping you achieve your goal (eg relaxation, pain relief). Some are exceptional. Hours and availability are very good. Especially for evening hours. They have moved away from requiring therapists from trying to upsell products. Thank goodness. I hated that. It's fine to have upsells when booking online. The rate isn't inexpensive and the public, in the lobby request or invitation to leave a tip just is a bad way to end the experience for someone who comes regularly. Two things I think ME could do to increase the experience: 1). When a favorite therapist leaves, address it. My loyalty over the years was from connecting to a therapist or two. Change is a natural part of business cycles but ME fails to address it at all. The avoidance over time of the most important relationship change (therapist to client) clearly communicates that I am a business deal to you not a client to be cared for. 2). Make tenure matter. Ironically I found an expired gift certificate I'd misplaced in my car. The front desk clerk simply noted it was expired and I could not use it. That was it and a little abrupt. No % offered. Now technically I understand that legally she is correct. What disappointed me was that almost $10,000 of payments over 10 years didn't matter. The desk isn't taught to consider tenure or perhaps it just doesn't matter. So if you want a decent massage. It's as good as any place because most therapists are good. If you want a spa experience or focused care, try a non-chain. A small business or self employed LMT will likely feel less like a business deal. read more

This is specific for this location. It's been months since I have been able to get a massage because no matter who I schedule with it seems they always cancel same day usually only a few hours before my appointment. If I as a customer have to cancel at least 24 hours before my appointment I should be given the same courtesy. My time is just as important as your massage therapists. I am now in a bind because it's been at least 5 months in a row they have done this and I have credits just piling up. When I mentioned this to the person calling and canceling my appointment all they had to say was "yeah I can see that this keeps happening." I know massage envy will not refund these so I am without any resolution or recourse. Save yourself the trouble and do not go to this location. read more

Came in today for my first massage after signing up to be told "we called you to cancel Tuesday but you didn't answer". When I showed them the confirmation I received Friday for a Saturday massage the response was "it must have been the new girl." So we used to be members here and the level of massage was hit and miss, but usually pretty decent. We had some good massage therapists that left. We canceled our membership about 2 years ago and would go every few months on a date night or special event. My wife purchased a gift card for my Bday a few days ago and they said they would give her the intro rate and she didn't really inquire on what this meant except that we used to pay $65 for non-member and when we were members it was less. I called to book tonight with my wife to use the gift card and no one mentioned rates and I thought it was still $65. Well I guess they have changed their non member rates to $95! This is insane for a subpar massage! You I will not be going back to ME and will seek other massage therapists at other locations that are much more reasonable for equal or better massages. I am floored that there is no pricing posted in the check in area, there was no mention to my wife when she bought the gift card and there was no mention when we checked in that they changed their rates earlier this year. read more

Customer Service leaves much to be desired. My husband spent $180 on three services for me for my birthday. I had no idea that it expired. No one ever explained that to me. Not my husband, no one from Massage Envy, ever said a word about it expiring. So, me being the busy mother of 4, full-time student, and a working a job fill time, forgot to treat myself to these services. When I finally got around to it, they had expired. To make along story short, I emailed them, talked to them on the phone and was told somebody would get back to me. 2 MONTHS WENT BY. I emailed again. Finally a new GM called me and offered me my services back and I make an appointment today.....AND TO MY SURPRISE THEY ARE EXPIRED AGAIN. The whole idea of a massage or a spa day is to RELAX. I anything bit relaxed dealing with such poor customer service. If you spend that kind of money on a gift for someone there shouldn't be an expiration like that. They do this in hopes that busy people like me will forget. THEN THEY GET KEEP YOUR MONEY AND point to the fine print that they NEVER went over with me. I went to this location yesterday, having just moved to the valley I was in need of a good massage therapist. When I called the people was at the desk and was extremely nice and pleasant to deal with. The place is very nice and calming, at first they were telling me about the members program where I could get a massage every month, well me being me I wanted to see how the massage went. I got massaged by Rylan, and I have to admit when he was done I signed up immediately for the members program, I look forward for my next session with Rylan and it will be longer than an hour the next time. read more

Bad expierience. I am a massage therapist and recieved many massages and been to many massage locations (including other Massage Envys) but this was by far the worst. I had frozen my contract and was considering unfreezing it when i called and scheduled the appointment. I called another location on Northern who has taken great care of me in the past and unfroze my account. I arrived @ the Happy Valley location 15 minutes early as instructed and filled out my paper work. I handed it to the front desk girl who told me "Your account has been unfrozen by the other location". I told her thank you and asked to use the rest room which was clean and great! they took me to their "quiet room" where you are supposed to relax some while waiting for your massage. I sat in that room for 25 minutes. I felt my phone vibrating but did not check it because i had turned it off for the massage. I watched the front desk girl through the glass door as she actually was calling my cell phone to find out where i was. She even threatened to "charge a full cancellation fee for the No Call, No show." All of the front desk girls were laughing and giggling and talking about their shoes and hair while i waited in the room. I came out of the quiet room and asked if i was going to recieve my massage. All the front desk girls scrambled and argued with each other over who forgot to check me in. They asked if i still wanted my massage but it was too late and i had family who was arriving in 30 minutes. I left because i couldnt believe the service. I then came back and sat in the lobby some more before the GM finally came back. She was very nice about canceling my contract. If you want a great massage, please do not go to this Massage Envy location. Horrible service and high school level front desk girls. go to ANY other massage envy location OR look up therapists at chiropractic locations. I showed up and checked in for my 90 min massage. After 15 minutes, I went to the front desk and mentioned that I still haven't seen my therapist. Turned out that there was an issue with scheduling, however my therapist hustled over in less than 10 minutes and was able to still get me a 60 min. massage. Kat did a wonderful job explaining the treatment and the PCA products she used for the peel, and gave a very relaxing back facial as well! I'm notorious for abusing my muscles in my shoulders, neck, and back from long hours sitting at my computer working. When my muscle spasms set in or my migraines, I'm forced to go see my favorite therapist, Harold. This guy knows his stuff. He finds all my knots and works them out. The absolute WORST costumer service I have ever received!!!! My mother and I booked two massages for today and were booked for the wrong time and the phone numbers were entered incorrectly. I have been many times to massage envy, so for my number to be incorrect makes no sense other than the girl offered a spot not available and then changed the numbers. We spoke to the actual franchise owner and let her know we were very dissatisfied and most companies would offer compensation. She actually laughed at us on the phone. Went from going to be a relaxing day to very stressful. If you want terrible customer service and to look forward to a massage for a week only to be told, "not our problem" then go here. Shannon was fantastic. I've been a member for some time but it was my first time at this location. Shannon asked the standard questions but was super skilled at reading what my back needed. I almost fell asleep and I never do that. I had trouble turning my neck when I arrived. Without leaving me sore, I was able to turn it after the appt and the next day. Very welcoming and Ill be back to see Shannon! The check out process was a bit bumpy on their computer since my membership is out of state. I would try to find a therapist that I like but it's more important that I can just call ahead about 30-45 min and get scheduled which is great. When I first signed up almost 2 years I enjoyed the atmosphere and the girls were super nice and said there's no commitment just a 30 day notice for cancellation. However, when I called to get the paper to cancel all of a sudden I am in a contract that's not up until the end of the year and I will have to pay until then. Hannah was my message therapist about 2 weeks ago, she did a REALLY good job and I was very impressed by her skills. I really enjoyed my body rub, but was very upset when the message was over and I checked my phone and noticed that she only rubbed for 40 minutes when I payed for a 60 minute rub. I checked the time before I laid down and checked the time right when she finished and left the room, and the rub was exactly 40 minutes I do not like confrontation so I did not say anything about her scamming me 20 minutes of my rub but I was very disappointed that I paid for something that I did not get. read more

I went to this location for my birthday last year. It was amazing. I had a great therapist! I had never had a professional massage before. This was a great experience. The building is nice and new, decorated nicely. Undressing felt akward, but honestly my massage therapist was amazing at making me feel comforable. During the massage, nothing became "overexposed", she knew just how to cover and uncover perfectly. This was an extremely relaxing, wonderful experience. This is definitely a nice way to relax. What I love too, is that they will call you when you haven't been in in awhile and offer you a special. I'm going next weekend thanks to one of their calls!!!! read more
