Mubarak (I hope I spelled his name correctly) provided the best 90-minutes of pure relaxation and relief today! I had to cancel my appointment that was later this week due to a scheduling conflict. With fingers crossed, I booked an appointment with Moo (Mubarak's nickname). Boy did I luck out! He's so professional and knowledgeable. He's gentle, yet firm and thoroughly hits all sore muscles and joints. He offered tips on how to better stretch problem areas, and worked out all of the kinks in my aching back and neck. Again, this place is the most non-customer service place I have ever been. I changed my account information because they keep charging me and they still say it is for a membership I never wanted They trick you into telling you that you can cancel the membership anytime. You can't. They also do not hear you out and insist that they do not tell you that you can cancel. Unless they were there making an assumption is also poor business practice. I suppose this is why they handle matters this way. They must be very desperate for memberships and customers to trick you into signing. Came in on a Friday for a 60 minute massage. Attempted to book through the website which wasn't working. Luckily when I called first thing Friday morning they were able to schedule me for an afternoon appointment. I arrived 15 minutes early. I did over hear the front desk receptionist talking to another customer that they have been having issues with their website. The waiting area wasn't super inviting, it was honestly just mediocre. My appointment was at 3 but I wasn't taken back until 3:10. My masseuse was Lavonta who was awesome. I had a migraine that day and he could see that I did. I asked for deep tissue and deep tissue was what I received. He also asked me if I wanted to focus on my problem spots instead of a full body which is what I needed. If I were just rating this on my massage itself I would give it 5 stars but because of cleanliness issues, the website and the space overall not giving me a relaxing spa feeling I can only give it 4 stars. read more

The carpet has a black trail through every hallway and room, the ceiling tiles are water stained, there hasn't been a refresh of the facility in years, and I've been a member for a long time. You can tell the owner of the franchise doesn't care about it, doesn't care about the employees work environment or the customers that pay for the services that keep their doors open. I scheduled a massage for my 16 year old daughter. I selected the under 18 years of age option. it allowed me to book the appointment without mention of any consent needing to be filled out. When my daughter arrived to her appointment they told her she needed to have a parent consent form signed! I am the one who booked the appointment and entered the credit card information in. I spoke to the manager on the phone and asked if they could begin the massage and I would be up there to sign the papers, as they told my daughter it would cut into her massage time. She said they are unable to do that without the form signed. Why would you allow an appointment to be booked for someone under 18 and not have the consent form in your website? I swear I was suffering with extreme dryness, burning, acne etc. I went for a facial after booking online, luckily I took photos of my face and the struggles I deal with on a daily basis and after seeing my photos she recommended I get a Microdermabrasion instead of the facial due to my issues and the results after ONE visit are absolutely amazing. Went here last year. The male masseuse was giving s very light, almost nonexistent pressure massage. I asked for more pressure. Nothing changed. Fast forward to today, i had waited 2 months to book Micky, that a friend had recommended. My sister had gotten me a gift certificate. First, massage envy never emailed it to me but I called and they said I had it. Certainly they charged my sister's credit card. I book an appointment, show up and .... no record of the gift card. AND the location claims they cannot look it up. Awful customer service. I really needed to feel better today, and now I feel worse. So disappointed. read more

Horrible experience! My therapists had just completed massaging my back and was moving to my legs when she noticed a small patch that was lightly red. I told her that it was just eczema and not anything contagious (a chronic dry skin condition that I am treated for). She abruptly stopped the massage, told me she needed to check with the front desk whether she could continue, then disappeared for what seemed like 15 minutes. When she returned she told me that the massage was over and to get dressed. I was completely humilitated and treated like I was a leper over a common skin condition. When I went to the front desk the manager told me that I had gotten a 60 minute massage and therefore my 1 hour credit would be applied (even though I had only been massaged for roughly 30 minutes). Completely unprofessional in every possible way... add to that the room feeling too hot and the complete lack of music... this place is to be avoided at all cost! Will NEVER return read more

They always encourage you to make your next appointment. I found that this is a good idea, because I waited in the past and then could not get the time I wanted for my massage. My first time at ME, I was impressed how quickly I got checked in. I was asked if I wanted a refreshment and was met by the massage therapist on time! I originally asked for a deep tissue massage, and normally I've had the therapist really put pressure, but I didn't feel I got that. I could have asked for more pressure, so next time I'll will speak up. This wasn't my first massage experience, so I did have something to compare too. I will try again next month. She went through the entire process with me in detail. When I went in the room it was so relaxing and again everything was nicely explained. I have had a terrible and expensive experience with Massage Envy in Orland Park and Frankfort. I had a back injury in July and went for a massage in Orland. In my relaxed, euphoric state I signed up for a membership (foolish) that costs me $59 per month. I needed surgery on my back, and I work full-time nights so I did not return to massage envy for another massage until my fiancé wanted a massage in December. The Orland Park office was booked, so we scheduled a massage in Frankfort. The offices DO NOT COMMUNICATE with each other over the phone and their computer systems are not connected. The credit for my account at Orland did not transfer to the office in Frankfort because of some spelling error, and rather than calling me, Frankfort charged my credit card for the massage. I called both offices many times and eventually visited the Orland office personally to clear up the problem. The Frankfort office never gave me my money back after the credit went through from Orland Park. I called repeatedly, very upset, asked to speak to a manager and get a call back. NOTHING WAS DONE. While paying $59 per month for a membership, I was charged $40 for a massage at Frankfort and I have a $59 massage credit on their books that I will never use. I am completely furious at massage envy, this "serene" location where I am paying $59 per month for a "relaxing experience". I have wasted SO MUCH MONEY and received close to nothing. I want nothing from them, but I cannot get out of the contract. Please do not make the foolish mistake that I did. The customer service with Massage Envy is horrible and highly stressful. It's a scam, like some nightmare gym membership from a Seinfeld episode, but not funny. read more

The only reasoning I will even give two stars is because the therapist was very kind. It took me a long time to get an appointment here because their scheduling just isn't convenient. My husband gave me a gift certificate as a surprise. I was so excited because I've always loved massages. This was my first time at this location and oh how disappointing. Leading up to my appointment I got a confirmation call for my 90 minute hot stone massage. When I arrived they had me down for something completely different. The front desk kept questioning me what I was there for. They had set me up with a therapist that specializes in hard/deep tissue massages. Why, I have no clue when I'm more of a light-medium gal which I had on my form. They were trying to switch therapists for me when in the end gave me the one that does the hard massages. She said she'll adjust for me and to keep her informed along the way of how the pressure is. The majority of the massage was good but did hurt at times. I honestly thought it was because I was sore from the gym. The therapist was very kind to me but I look back to the massage and we talked almost during the entire session. Maybe I should of cut it off because I really didn't get to relax since we were talking. I was used to silent massages in the past to get the full relaxation. When my session was over my therapist gave me a glass of water and then I went to sit and drink in the "relaxing room area" before heading to the front desk. Literally right when I sat down to drink the water the woman at the front desk called over around the corner to me "are you all done?". I didn't even get to drink my water and felt VERY rushed out. I paid and was on my way with her locking the front door behind me. It was only 8:00pm and saw they closed at 9:00pm so I have no idea why she locked the front door when I walked out. Today I'm in a lot of pain from my massage. My therapist communicated well with me but now am regretting if I let her push too much. I went in for lower back and headache pain. My back feels worse today and like my muscles are tearing apart. I've had about a dozen massages over the years and I've never been sore like this before. I don't necessarily blame the therapist because she specializes in hard massages and the front desk should of matched me up better. I won't be returning to massage envy. read more
